After the hostile war of words that flew between Akiiryu and Kathenia in the last week and despite the growing tensions over plot 21 the Akiiryan government has announced that it has opened talks with Karthenia in an attempt to improve strained relations. Kathenian officials could not be reached for comment.

The SMC has formally announced that the Supreme Commander himself, General Ling Cao, will be involved in talks with the Akiiryu government. The poor relations were in no small way connected with the incompetant General Smiles, who has been stripped of office. The Supreme Commander has taken on his role, and hopes a resolution can be achieved.

Talks continue. And Akiiryan representative stated that - given the position of both countries on the plot 21 crisis - they are going better than expected.

The Supreme Commander has been publically crtitcised for handling the Akiiryu talks himself, as it is the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As yet, he has not appointed a successor to General Smiles, and as long as that continues he will face opposition in the SMC. The talks do proceed, howeever.
