[Map Application] The Peasant's Republic of Eemsmerschen

Capital Name: Brüggedörp
Capital Location: River mouth

Starter Stats:

  • Population: 2 (28,000,000)
  • Area: ~47,500 to ~48,000
  • GDP per Capita: 2 (~$18,500)

Culture: As Low Dolch was already introduced somewhat into Eurth by Stedoria, I plan to expand it or atleast expand a section of it. My goal is to create a nation around Northern/Low German culture and language, borrowing from a variety of regions in that area.
Climate and Geography: Flatlands, river, and marshes ideally. A maritime and wet temperate climate would be the best.
History: I will be still using around the same sequence of events that my Vision Statement has, however I might move some dates around to make it fit together better. However the revised history may go, the present events in Eemsmerschen remain the same. A youth/student movement going against the status quo of isolationism and oligarchic corruption in order to "return Eemsmerschen to the peasants" and set the stage for Eemsmerschen entrance into the international wurld.

However, as I said, I'd be perfectly fine with other places that have a river of some sort if I need to be moved due to cultural RP reasons. Additionally, if the hanseatic-esque borders aren't wanted by the cartographers, I'd be happy to work with them to get borders we both like. These two are just ideas thrown out by me, however at the moment I'm quite inspired to do something with the Dolch language and Low Dolch culture, so it would be in my best interest to be somewhere a dolch/dolch adjacent nation would be. ^^

Upon further reading about the (what I now know as a strait), I will be revising this map request as my country name requires a river for it to make sense. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Upon further consideration and discussion with a few people I'd like to submit a more specific map request.

Amendment:

As most dolchic nations are spread around, I suppose mine won't be that much different. If need be, it can be explained through migration.

Obviously, there would be a large slavic population within this area as well. I've already talked with Welkija to cooperate on the info about the Dolchic people in the area.

Congratulations on passing the academy, and apologies for the wait!

Your stats (2/2/0) look good, and are in-line with the ranges provided. Your desired climate and cultures match well, and alongside your history will likely have your country be situated someplace in Argis (as you've already taken note of). Below, I've chosen 3 locations around Argis that I believe your country could fit. It's up to you to decide which location you prefer the most. Afterwards all necessary countries (lore / proximity / etcetera) will be pinged for consent. If they don't object within the next 5 days your country will be added to the next map update.

1. Intria Desired Location
You already a map up so I won't put on here. The location is a bit awkward as it puts you directly at the centre of Argis' Slavic region. To your north-west are the Eastern Slavs, to your south-west are the Southern Slavs, and to your east are the Western Slavs. If you want to be placed here I'd want to first hear how a large Low-Dolch population ended up in the region. Also consent from @Welkija would be necessary.

With an area of approximately 46,700km^2, your climate would be predominately a warm continental climate in the east, with a cooler climate to the west. The whole area would've been - pre-industrial - a temperate broadleaf forest / temperate grassland. Your country would be near the homeland of the Low Dolch (southern Dolchland) and next to some pretty active members like Stedoria and Seylos. Currently Velaheria is going through a government coup, but I'm sure Eemsmerschen would survive :P.

Area is around 45,700km^2 and your country would occupy the transition band between the cooler temperate climate and the warmer temperate climate. At least this proposal has a river.

According to Baltica, there were many Dolch Crusaders who sailed across the Qingming Sea to Baltica. Perhaps some of them - who were Low-Dolch - instead settled near the Green Sea? With an area of ~49,500km^2, you'd have great ocean access from your peninsula, surrounded by active members. Climate-wise it is drier then what you'd like - Mediterranean - so no marshes unfortunately. There is a river, however!

My initial plan for the placement I mapped out was to have been invited to whatever old empire was there (Ahrana I think) much like how the Germans were invited to settle along the volga in Russia. I'm willing to write extensively on this if needed.

The main German settlement area was majority German by the time of the russian revolution and made up around 75ish percent of the populace in the territory allocated to the Volga Germans. If they weren't expelled their population would be around 5 million today. Obviously 28 million is much more, and if it's deemed necessary I can lower my population to fit into the lore.

If this isn't seen as practical or best for Eurth, I'm fine going closer to Dolchland or the area Baltica mentioned but I'd like to insist on a river of some sort and lowlands around it, due to the nature of my nation name (Named after a river and it's marsh).
