REPORT IN RELATION TO PRODUCTIVITY IN DIAMOND MINE 5, UMBAZI PROVINCE

ย

This report is the true and accurate assessment of Diamond Mine 5, in Umbazi Province, by Junior Party Official of PPDFRK Jonas Unyi. All information contained herein has been validated by the party for use in averaging conditions among the various state mines across the nation, and for the addressing of issues resulting in said mines. Party clearance level "C" minimum required for viewing, breach of said clearance level shall result in 5 years jail-time and expulsion from the party.
ย
Diamond Mine 5 is found in the outskirts of Umbazi province, one of the southernmost provinces of The Republic of Kbodone. Employing up to 2,500 men, but often doubling that in relation to transportation, distribution, and supporting roles, the Mine represents a significant piece of the province's economy output and productive capacity. Run by the state mining firm Nkem-Oru, the mine is under the regulation and indirect management of the party, but due to DM5's isolation, private advisers are being used in place of party officials. This resulted in significantly heightened efficiency, at least on the surface, which caused suspicion among the party. The author, JPO-PPDFRK Jonas Unyi, was sent by the Central Committee of Resource Extraction for the purpose of determining the truth to these claims of heightened efficiency, and if the methodology developed at DM5 could be exported to other related mining concerns across the Republic of Kbodone.
Arriving at the local village of Awazi, which acts as a primary recruitment center for DM5 in their reports, I was shocked to find not a single local man or woman who claimed to be employed at the mine. In fact, most of the population of the village had no awareness that a mine even existed in the area, although they admitted to me their focus had been on the harvest and simply keeping their ears to the ground for the last few years. Bidding my farewell, I caught a bus to reach another village claimed in DM5's reports to be used for manpower, that being Kwazeti. However, when I forced the bus to stop, despite the protests of the bus driver, at where our maps say the village of Kwazeti was supposed to be, all I could find was long destroyed ruins and a handful of tents propped up by the local nomadic population. Speaking to them, they told me that many months ago armed men, white men, had taken the population of the village and burned it to the ground. They had worn no distinguishing uniforms, and the nomads informed me they looked as though they must have been foreign mercenaries.
The nomads, being often strong supporters of our Great State and Glorious Party in past affairs, were likely speaking the truth. However, if they were, this could spell dire consequences for not only the local populations of the area, but more importantly for the productivity of the surrounding developments the party has spent so much time and effort on. Determined to investigate, I requested one of the nomads to take me upon his horse and lead me to the outskirts of DM5, making sure not to use roads or any official channels of transportation. The closer we came to the mine, not following the roads, the more concerning things became. It was clear that some organization or group had been systematically wiping out and kidnapping the villages of the area, taking care to avoid those that are on bus-lines. It seems that Kwazeti was likely a mistake, or they had simply become careless. At last, after two hours of increasing dread as more and more burnt buildings passed us by, the nomad, the name of which was Gork Bodejum, pointed out the location of the mine. DM5 was completely surrounded by high fences of barbed wire, but luckily a nearby clay plateau allowed for me and Gork to find cover to survey the site.
Gork, bringing his rifle which had a telescopic scope, laid down right before the top of the plateau, covered himself in clay dust, and began to slowly crawl upwards towards the top. With little regard for the quality of my suit, I did the same, recognizing the possible danger of being spotted. Gork pointed out several points of interest to me through his scope, although I used my phone's camera to zoom in instead. It appeared that DM5, under the lack of auditors it had seen and the blessing of the private firm we allowed to administer it, has been using slave labor extracted from the local population for an unknown period of time. The mine was organized like a prison camp, sniper towers dotting the fence-line and machine gun towers were placed at every corner of the fence. The workers inside were often without much in the way of clothing, sinewy and underfed, and seemed to lack even the most basic of amenities required by law. As you can see in the attached video, connected to this report, we filmed multiple instances of abuse in DM5, alongside a blatant disregard for our laws and way of life. The biggest article of concern, however, was that the entire guard workforce of DM5 were clearly foreign mercenaries. It is unknown how these mercenaries entered the country, nor how this situation was kept secret outside of extreme corruption and negligence from the local government.
After fleeing the scene and returning to the capital, I am submitting this report to strongly encourage military intervention into DM5, a purge of local officials, and a generalized audit of all mines remaining within the country.

I, JPO-PDDFRK Jonas Unyi, swear upon the President's Life that what I have seen is true and accurate.
