Brief view on political situation in Leutermech [RP example]

A little background: To understand the current political situation in the country, we will move to 1953, the beginning of the great revolutionary war. Reasons? Interception of a telegram from the Erland rebels intended for anti-monarchist forces in the Reil-Grechtin kingdom, with a proposal to coordinate actions to overthrow the monarchical regimes. This was enough for the forces of the monarchical union of Leutermech to begin counter-actions against the rebel cells, fearing their possible cooperation. The beginning of such a large-scale suppression campaign did not go unnoticed by other revolutionary cells throughout the union, who, fearing the same situation, decided to act first. Thus, literally within a week, each member of the monarchical union had enemies within their territories, which escalated into a full-fledged war that unfolded throughout the territory of the entire future confederation. This war was only ended in 1967, with the defeat of the last rebels in the southern and northern regions.

Modern times: As you might imagine, such a colossal and destructive event left a huge mark on the history of the confederation and still significantly influences its present. This is largely reflected in the fact that the confederation still not disintegrated due to fear of a new revolutionary war. So whether the problem is real or perceived, the top elites are still operating out of fear. But this topic both unites the confederation and seriously divides it. Each subject of the federation has its own plan on how to fight the revolutionaries and its own view on the future of the confederation. Two main directions can be distinguished: authoritarians and populists (who in turn are divided into liberals and conservatives). As can be understood from the name, the former believe that only through strengthening control can new uprisings be prevented, while the latter seek to gain the support of the people and leave the revolutionaries without a social base on which they could rely in an uprising. The two factions disagree on many things and often get in each other's way. Such maneuvers, in turn, greatly harm the stability of the confederation, which is only due to the fact that the rebel movements are still too cautious to act brazenly. Now, support for the monarchy is only in the upper circles of society and part of the middle class. Many people in the lower class are simply intimidated by political persecution and, although they are not accustomed to the rebels, out of fear they do not have sympathy for monarchies.

Now let's move on to the rebels, they, in turn, are very diverse in their political beliefs and often several different groups operate on the territory of one member of the confederation. But having learned lessons from the defeat in the revolutionary war (1953-1967), they try to turn a blind eye to different ideologies and cooperate in actions...although sometimes they are not against taking away part of the influence and social base from another faction. Basically, the rebels can be divided into a group of left (red bloc) and a group of right (democratic front). There are also centrists, but there are very few of them. For the most part, among them there is no longer a feeling of defeatism due to the change of generations, as well as hope for a better future, only veterans remember the defeat in that war and perhaps in the near future the rebels will again try to overthrow the monarchies that oppressed Leutermech for so long. In many ways, all revolutionaries agree on the idea of transferring power to the people (and sometimes even executing the nobility), so their support, especially in the lower strata of the population, is still high and has no tendency to declineโ€ฆ
