All-Terrain Explosive Resistant Protected Vehicle Program, ATERPV-Program
Advocatian Armaments Group, Hovd Palace Bureau [AAG-HPB] and SPV Military Vehicles Group [SPV-MVG]

The All-Terrain Explosive Resistant Protected Vehicle Program (ATERPV-Program) is a collaborative effort between both the Advocatian and Stedorian Armed Forces vehicle manufacturing companies, AAG-HPB and SPV-MVG, in order to develop two distinct 4x4 and 6x6 wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles, these vehicles will be made to feature the following specifications; must be able to transport infantry, must be highly mobile (minimum 100 km/h maximum speed), must be modular, must be able to withstand high explosive ordinance. These groups have previously collaborated before on the subject of Armoured Fighting Vehicles however the vast majority were on the nations exporting these vehicles to one another; this marks the first total collaboration between the two countries of the Socialist Federal Republic of Advocatius and the Stedorian People's Republic. This report is certifying the end of the collaboration and reviewing the resulting vehicles.

The ATERPV-Program is intended to follow a pre-existing concept of vehicles that has previously been explored by the following militaries of Iverica, Gaellicia, Ahrana, etc dubbed as the MRAP, Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected, and is an up-armoured variant of the pre-existing Infantry Mobility vehicle concept made to protect the infantry inside from explosives. Both the high command of the Advocatian and Stedorian Armed Forces believe that these types of vehicles can be used to great effect in future conflict, especially for occupational, anti-guerrilla, anti-terrorist, urban combat, etc operations which placed travelling infantry at a high risk of unseen mines and IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices). Which are expected scenarios incoming with Stedoria's recent action within Velaheria. There will be two distinct vehicles resulted from this program, a 4x4 intended to be produced upon a much wider scale that is lighter but less protected, and a heavier 6x6 to carry more infantry and be able to withstand more explosives at the cost of mobility, size, and production.

Testing for the ATERPV-Program vehicles has most commonly taken place at
Hovd Palace Vehicle Proving Grounds in the ASTR in Advocatius and the Lelöp Military Testing Ground and Shooting Range in Eastern Stedoria; mostly against primarily modern anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, additionally against the most common methods of creating an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which are common among insurgent militia groups, rioters and militaries with literal comparable funding. Infantry-launched munitions such as Rocket-Propelled Grenades and missile launchers as well as drone-launched munitions have also been taken into account, giving the vehicles all round protection. The modular armour package of the vehicles developed as a part of the program makes damage parts easily replaceable, and further protection can be achieved by stacking additional plates on top of each-other. These details will be included in the latter two documents on the specific vehicles.

The Vehicles resulting from the ATERPV-Program are to be given separate designations for the Advocatian and Stedorian variants; but the names will be the same, aside from translations. It will be important to note that the vehicles will feature similar components and are to be made into a future series of these types of vehicles; the vehicles are as follows, variants will also be shown:

Armament/Optics

The vehicle's standard production unit feature a newly Remote Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) as part of the program's development as it's primary form of weaponry that has laser range finder, day/night sights through all necessary cameras and wide angle camera for  wider battlefield observation. The RCWS is designed with modularity in mind so it can be fitted best to any specific type of mission in mind, most missions will entail the use of the 12.7 mm machine gun which can hit targets up to a distance of 2,000 m and up to 1,500 m for aerial targets; other options include a 7.62 mm six barrel rotary machine gun for scenarios demanding a higher rate of fire, and a 40 mm Automatic Grenade launcher for use against entrenched/fortified positions and light armoured fighting vehicles. The RCWS can be taken over manually and features a shield as the front face to defend the infantryman and simultaneously the weakest point of the turret system.

Two of the other variants, the VPRE-42D // VStJ⸗42D and VPRE-42E // VStJ⸗42E both have unique armaments aside from the standard modularity RCWS kit, which is of course due to their very different roles that they are put into. The VPRE-42D // VStJ⸗42D is designated as a Tank Destroyer/Hunter equipped with four 152 mm wire-guided Anti-Tank Guided Missile Launchers, and is considered highly proficient against tank units that are designated as most likely to come into contact with both the Stedorian and Advocatian Armies; they have the RCWS for non-tank combat. The VPRE-42E // VStJ⸗42E is designated as a Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Gun (SPAAG) intended to replace the VBAA-23C Taureau in Advocatian service and supplement Anti-Aircraft capabilities for the Stedorian Army, drones have been considered in the vehicles design.

VPRE-42A // VStJ⸗42A - Remote Control Weapon System with either a 7.62 mm rotary machine gun, 12.6 mm machine gun, or 40 mm Automatic Grenade Launcher
VPRE-42B // VStJ⸗42B — N/A
VPRE-42C // VStJ⸗42C — Remote Control Weapon System with either a 7.62 mm rotary machine gun, 12.6 mm machine gun
VPRE-42D // VStJ⸗42D — Four 152 mm Anti-Tank Guided Missile Launchers, Remote Control Weapon System with either a 7.62 mm machine gun or 12.6 mm machine gun
VPRE-42E // VStJ⸗42E — Three Barrel 20 mm Anti-Aircraft Gun

Protection/Miscellaneous Features

The main hull is made of special protected sheet steel which provides the front side armour with equivalent protection to Level III STANAG 4569 against modern 7.62 mm machine gun ammunition at 30 meters, with the equivalent explosive and artillery protection as well with the STANAG 4569. Additionally, the vehicle also provides Level IIa (Mine Explosion pressure activated under any wheel or track location) and IIb (Mine Explosion under center) STANAG 4569 as anti-mine protection which greatly improves amongst currently existing IMV equivalents in Advocatian and Stedorian service against mine units expected to come against both nations operations and is of course greatly effective against IED's. This provides the crew additional survivability and under the conditions of the demands of the development passes as the use of the vehicle.

As well as this, additional ballistic protection could be achieved by combining the ballistic plates of the additional armor depending on its purpose. Modular armour characteristic provides fast replacement of the damaged plates in field conditions. The vehicle can also be equipped with additional specialised equipment including air-conditioning units and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) defense systems. The vehicle is also equipped with deployable smoke grenade launchers which can cover the vehicle in events of it coming under fire, alongside throwing off enemy targeting systems.

Variants

VPRE-42A // VStJ⸗42A — This is the standard variant of the Lynx/Lünk; which can be equipped with a RCWS with either a 7.62 mm rotary machine gun, 12.6 mm machine gun or a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. The vehicle has a maximum crew of 8.

Crew: 3 (commander, gunner, driver)
Passengers: 12
Floating Speed: N/A
Max. Climbing: 60%
Fording: 1.5 m (without preparation), 2.0 m (with preparation)

Armament/Optics

The vehicle is equipped with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun; the machine gun can fire over 700 rounds per minute and has a maximum effective range of 2,000 m against ground targets and 1,500 m against airborne targets and is fitted with shield covering the whole of the turrets side. It uses the same systems as the previous weapon laser range finder, day/night sights through all necessary cameras and wide angle camera for wider battlefield observation. Whilst the Rhinocéros/Rinoserod does not use and RCWS as the previous vehicle does this was removed because with the additional armour over the turret and different doctrinal use of the two vehicles; it can still be equipped with the same variety of weapons onto the turret such as a 7.62 mm rotary machine gun for scenarios demanding a higher rate of fire and a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher for fortified/entrenched positions and light armoured fighting vehicles. The vehicle has no variants as it was deemed the vehicles overall size made it more fit to a more traditional MRAP role for mainly infantry use over other purposes like anti-vehicle, anti-air, etc. The vehicle has a compartment around the back able to be fitted with mortar equipment giving it a pseudo-mobile artillery usage.

Protection/Miscellaneous Features

The main hull is made of special protected sheet steel with light composite (ceramic and ball) armour covering all sides which provides equivalent protection to Level IV STANAG 4569 which provides standard kinetic round protection against 14.5x114mm AP / B32 at 200 metres with a speed of 911 m/s at standard testing angle. It also provides protection against 155 mm high explosive artillery shells at a distance of 30 m and as for grenade and mine blast threat (the main purpose of the vehicles protection)  carries protection against a 10 kg blast Anti-Tank mine with both 4a (Mine Explosion pressure activated under any wheel or track location) and 4b (Mine Explosion under center) protection which fits the vehicle programs requirements for protection against AT, IED's, AP mines, etc.
