General Secretary and Secretary of State Seishiro Iwada and Secretary of Commerce and Industry had arrived in Pentium the previous day and were staying at the Yosainese embassy. They were having their morning coffee as Ambassador Shinji Goto had called the Foreign Minister Hera Theadore about their arrival.

General Secretary Iwada was speaking to his colleague. “So what are we brining to the table here.?”

“Basically, the Pentians are allowing our businesses to enter their market, particularly in the areas of finance and our tech sector, they’ve expressed interest in our semiconductors.” Replied Kyomi

“I’m sure the people at Mairo and Seiku would like that. What are we getting in return?”

“Well, we are allowing a whole plethora of Pentian agricultural produce and raw mineral resources as a means of production to contribute towards our exports.”

“So, I’m guessing a reduction in tariffs across the board to facilitate this.”

“Pretty Much” Kyomi replied with a slight grin on her face.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Goto was on the phone with Foreign Minister Hera Theadore

“Good morning, Minister Theadore we have the delegates here at the embassy, when would be the appropriate time to arrive?”

The Foreign Minister was in her office in the halls of Parliament, and the President had asked for a time nearing midday.  Cross-checking her timetable, there was a good time at 11:30 AM that they could meet and begin discussions.  There would be a good interruption for lunch with someone in the capital, and then back to Parliament to wrap up for the day.  The details of this deal were already well discussed earlier between their ministries, the details just needed to be finalized and tweaked to ensure the deal was fair between the two parties.

“Good morning, Minister Goto, I'm glad to see your flight was safe getting here.  We have a time that opens nicely with the President's timetable around 11:30 if you'd like to stop in, that should give us both some good time to prepare ourselves for the discussion.”

Theadore woke up her computer, preparing to add the time into the timetable

The Yosainese delegation commissioned a government, car and made their way towards the parliamentry building. They god out at the back entrance. The city was mostly cleaned up however they noticed that there were still some bullet holes in the buildings and a large tank as a display. A year ago the city was under siege and it showed, ad certainly raised the eyebrows of some delegates. Thus it was suggested that the delegates enter through the back entrance.

The backdoor guard stood quietly, his newly minted Aalto 25 resting in his hand.  There was a small commotion from the alleyway he was guarding, he clicked his rifle off safe and kept it low to his chest.  Turning the corner were several well-dressed people talking in a language he did not understand, the briefing had stated there was to be a meeting between the Republic and another nation today.  He raised his hand and raised his voice.  He said it in Anglish, not expecting many people to speak his native tongue.

“Halt, who are you and why are you back here?” The voices stopped, a few looks were exchanged by the delegation before a response was returned in Anglish “Yosaianese delegation, I am Ambassador Goto, and we are here to meet with your Foreign Minister.” The soldier took a moment to process this information, but he kept his weapon rested.  He didn't want to cause an international incident before the two nations had formally started their relationship.

“Let me see your diplomatic papers.  And if I could get an explanation as to why you are walking back here?” He kept his tone level, despite the partial worry he felt inside.  The Ambassador approached him and handed him his papers.  As he reviewed them, he got his answer.  “We were unsure about entering from the front, there are many bullet holes and stories about a siege.  We were not sure if it was safe to go in the front.”

The papers checked out, everything was for this delegation at least. “The siege ended last year, and order has been restored to the city for a while.  I appreciate your caution, but please don't make this sort of entrance a habit.  I will let Ms. Theadore know where you are.  Have a productive meeting, Ambassador.” The soldier smiled and handed back the documents presented to him, after that he turned around and swiped a key card to unlock the door.  He flicked the safety back on his rifle and held the door open for the Yosainese delegation to enter.

The Yosainese delegation walked inside. The building was the usual glass doors, cubicles, and offices. They were then escorted by the personal indies to the meeting room where Foreign Minister Theadore was waiting. Both Secretary Iwada and Secretary Ishijo bowed politely. “Apologies for our lateness, Ms Theadore.”

(OOC: Let's just go get down to it)

"It's no trouble, I heard a short briefing from the backdoor guard.  Please, come on in.  We wouldn't want the coffee to go cold, after all, the president and I are ready to meet you."  Hera gave a short nod to the delegates and entered the conference room that had been prepared for the meeting, inside were a few plates of Pentian food, snacks, and beverages.  Part of the trade deal was the agriculture and livestock markets opening up to Pentian sellers.

Additionally, the president and two ministers were in the room already talking.  These were the Minister of Agriculture, and Resources.  Both of whom would be advising and assisting the president and foreign minister.
