March 7 fell on a Thursday and was a special day in Ionian as the Ionian Football League Season 2024 was about to begin. The hot weather was annoying, but it was not the suffocating heat that was recorded from the end of December until the end of February. The person living in the San Foca – Torre Canne conurbation were enjoying a restful evening after a long working day. Traffic on the city's highway networks were crazy because many people were moving to the Torre Canne Buccaneers stadium. Many people used cars, while other people used public transportation to get to the stadium.

The Kick-off game of the season is always a spectacular moment, as it was celebrated with several celebrations and a game. Tickets for the game quickly sold out, and it was expected that there were high numbers of the Torre Canne Buccaneers fairies to see their players try to win the early Season game. For people who could not get tickets or live far from San Foca – Torre Canne could watch the IBC Football Night in Ionian television program.

As fans were making their way to the gates to show tickets and gain access inside the stadium there were a couple of friends who lived in Torre Canne and were Buccaneers fans.

“I am happy that IFL is about to start.”

“Yes. I was looking forward to it starting so we can do fantasy football.”

“Agreed. It was fun the auction and creating our team. But now let's hurry in so we can get our food and sit down to watch the pre game show”

After they efected the ticket check, the two friends went to the area where there were several stores selling food and drinks. After they got the food they went to their seats that allowed them to see the whole camp. 

“I can't wait for the pre-game show to start.”

“It's going to be good this time. To finally see the banner that we are 64 Ionian Bowl champions is a beautiful emotion.”

“Yes. Although we have many old and new opponents this year”

“Yes. Tororti Vikings are a new team that was added after the war. They are mediocre based on pre season performance so I think we beat them easily”

As the two friends were discussing the stadium lights went out and the pre-game show was about to begin

Immediately the music began to play and all the perse began to shout as the speaker was pronouncing the beginning of the Pre Kickoff Show

“The Ionian Football League welcomes you to the Frecciarossa Kick-off 65 Pre game show.”

The band that was performing was the famous Midnight 1983 which was a music group of the synthwave egenre and of course while they were singing there was also choreography that added spectacularity to the show

Immediately the lights headed to where the various banners of the team's most important victories were installed and the immediately a tarp fell while fireworks were shot from the roof of the stadium and cannon blasts were fired as fans screamed with joy at the banner of the Ionian Bowl 64 victory

“Now let us all sing the Ionian anthem together.”

The singing of the national anthem was being performed by members of the armed forces to commemorate the victims of the war, and everyone was singing the anthem while all over the field was the Ionian flag being flown. At the end of the singing of the national anthem they passed over the stadium the National Aerobatic Patrol staging several stunts. After the show the field was quickly set up so that the game could begin.

“I must say that this year's Kick-off show was good.”

“Yes I must say they handled things well after the bad events that occurred.”

“Yes, but they say the half-time show will be even better”

“Really?”

“Yes. Vincenzo Martinucci will be singing during the half-time show.”

“My God. But I love that synthwave singer. His music is spectacular.”

“Yes but after now Gerardo Romano is going to kick off and then the Bucs have the first drive of the game”

Although it was Easter Sunday, the nightclubs were operating at full capacity because of the IFL Monterosso Chief vs. Empoli Jets game. 

A group of friends had decided to follow the game at a club where they could watch Sunday Night Football and enjoy good pizza. They had all met in front of the venue around 8:00 PM and when they entered they could see that the venue was packed with people ready to watch a game.

They approached the counter, and one of them spoke to an employee

"Hello we have reserved a table. Veltri."

"Let me check for a moment."

The employee checked the reservation notebook and saw that there was a reservation

"Yes there you are. You have reserved a table for 5 people. I'll take you right away."

The employee came out of the counter and escorted the group to the table that was in front of a big screen where the pre-game show was being broadcast 

"Here is your table and these are the menu. Have a nice dinner and a good game."

The employee walked away toward the counter while the group of friends sat down and took the menu to read it and figure out what to order

“Shall we get some fritos before the pizza?”

"I don't mind the idea. We can do two large mixed fritos and the pizzas. What shall we have to drink? Beers?

“Yes but since I have to drive I'd rather not drink beer but drink lemonade.”

“Not even a little drop of beer?”

"No. I'd rather drink lemonade. Anyway, the game is about to start."

Everyone looked at the screens to see the kickoff and the start of the game. The Jets had possession of the ball and were advancing to the opposite side of the field to make a touchdown In the meantime, a waitress approached to take orders, and after she took all the orders she walked away as suddenly people started screaming about the Empoli Jets' touchdown.

"It seems that this year Monterosso has little chance of going into the playoffs. Especially when you have a lot of tough teams."

“Today I watched the Rossano Wolves game against Tropea Dolphins and the Wolves destroyed them.”

“Yes but there are also the Titans who are having very good games.”

"Nah. When they get to the end of the regular season the Titans start losing. I weigh that this year the Wolves win."

"I think because we are early in the season making predictions are very wrong. We all saw how early to late season predictions were overturned last year"

While the friends were discussing and the game was going on, the two plates of fritto misto arrived, which included french fries, fried small calzones, fried meatballs, potato croquettes, and Pettole. The friends were starting to eat when Empoli Jets missed a Field Goal and some people shouted no for the lost three points

"That Field Goal was easy. How did it go wrong?"

"Who will know? Probably emotion played a trick on him."

The evening continued and after a few minutes the pizzas arrived and the group of friends began eating them and discussing the game and making predictions about the future of the season.

Rossano Stadium - After the final whistle.

After the final whistle, the Rossano stadium erupted with a victory cry from the Wolves' large crowd after they won against the Gladurmar Raiders permettendopoli after 10 years to go to the Ionian Bowl again.

As the fans of the losing team walked out of the stadium discouraged by the loss of the game and the shattered dream of going to the Ionian Bowl one could also see a sense of fair play between the fans and the players where some Wolves players consoled the Raiders players and some Wolves fans also did the same to the defeated fans.

After a few minutes the stage was set up and eventually the ceremony began proclaiming the Rossano Wolves as Ionian Football Conference champions.  Match commentator Fabiano Fiorenza immediately began talking first with Coach Armanno Magnone

“Coach are you happy that the team has finally arrived at the Ionian Buwl?”

“Yes. We are very happy that we finally reached this milestone. We are looking forward to the challenge at the Ionian Buwl but what I can say is that today is a day of celebration for the city of Rossano but from tomorrow we will put our efforts to win the last game is to become champions.”

With the last word the stadium epslose with cheers as the announcer went to interview team president Giuseppe Colucci the eldest son of Ionian president John Colucci

“So president how does it feel to have led a team that we can now call family to victory for you?”

“Today was an emotional day for the whole city of Rossano and not only for us. Today we made history and we can say that we are ready to write the last chapter.”

“How does it feel to run a team that your father successfully managed throughout the decade of the 2000s?”

“I am happy but at the same time fearful because he wrote a great chapter in the history of this team and as we know from the golden period there was a dark period and in the end we came back with a young and strong team”

“We all saw that the president was in the stadium but we wonder why he didn't come down here”

“I can assure you that he as an avid fan of this team preferred to be with the people of Rossano in the celebrations before the Ionian Buwl”

After the MVP was interviewed, the trophy was handed over and the gioctors raised the trophy causing cheers of joy from the fans

Mirto - After the final whistle.

A group of friends had gathered at a braceria to enjoy roasted meat as they watched the Mirto Lions game already knowing that the possible rivals were the Rossano Wolves. After 4 hours at the referee's final whistle everyone present began to cheer as the Mirto Lions won. 

“We are finally at the Ionian Buwl.”

“I can't believe we were so strong to get this chance.”

“We had a good season but now we have one last hurdle and it is very tough”

“Yes Rossano Wolves have won all the games of the season rules getting a perfect score. It will be hard to win against them”

“Yeah. It will be a complex final game but now let's enjoy the celebration”

After paying the bill, they left the venue and mingled with the crowd that was celebrating the suqadra's victory even with carousels paralyzing the city traffic. A night of euphoria before the fateful Aug. 11 final game of the 2024 IFL season arrives

August 11 - Ionian Buwl

August 11 is the day when all of Ionian stops to watch Ionian Buwl, the final of the Ionian Football League in which it was decided who is the winner after a long season. Usually, many people watch the final from home, but those who managed to get tickets were able to see the game live.

This year the final is being held in Cosenza where there is winter weather because of its location in the mountains, but it was not a problem for the game since the stadium is a closed stadium so it could be played safely even in a snow storm

The sky was cloudy and a few snowflakes were falling at times, but fans were not intimidated by the harsh conditions. In addition to the audience, famous people from Ionio were also there. In addition to entertainment and music stars, there were business personalities as well as political figures.

But the media was aimed at the family of President John Colucci who obviously all cheered for the Rossano Wolves who were the owners and also the royal family of the federated state of the Kingdom of Sila since Cosenza was the capital.

After that they did the ceremonial part of the pre kick-off in which the Ionian national anthem was sung, as well as giving a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the war. Immediately after that they proceeded with the coin toss and in addition to the players, mascots of the teams, the referees there was also Princess Aurora who had to toss the coin indicating a choice by the IFL to show the union of peace between the peoples of Ionio. The referee is Luigi Collina one of the IFL's most famous referees for his severity and inflexibility.

“Captains, congratulations on earning the opportunity to play in Ionian Buwl LXIV. Your Achievements are memorialized on the tail side of the coin, where your team logos are. The head side of the coin is represented by the Ionian Buwl logo. Mirto Lions since you are the visiting team, choose heads or tails.”

“Head.”

“Mirto Lions has called Head. Princess Aurora. If you want to flip the coin.”

The princess tossed the coin and everyone watched as the coin flew and fell to the ground, pointing to the coin tails.

“Is Tails. Rossano Wolves will have the advantage of the field mind Myrtle Lions will have the ball. Good luck to all.”

The players shook hands wishing each other good luck as the referees took their positions for the initial kick-off and after a few minutes everything was ready for kick-off.

With the kick-off pulled, we immediately begin the game with the ball in possession at the Myrtle Lions. The first drive was fast and the Detroit Lions were able to score a touchdown and extra point, bringing the game to 7–0.

Rossano Wolves answered right back but failed to score a touchdown because of a quarterback sack and then scored a field goal bringing the overall score to 7-3. The Lions' second drive ended with a punt.

The Wolves answered on their second drive with a Field Goal, bringing the overall score to 7-6. The Lions' third drive ended with a punt after a Wolves' player committed pass interference.

The wolves' third drive ended with a Field Goal tipping the score, bringing it to 7–9 while the Lions' fourth drive ended with another punt.

The Wolves' fourth drive ended with a beautiful touchdown, accomplice in part to errors by the Lions' 12-man foul defense on the field. The result is 7–16.

The Lions immediately answered with a Field Goal, bringing the score to 10–16, but the clock was ticking and there was less than 1:44 to the end of the first half. The Wolves answered right away but the lions defense blocked them from scoring a touchdown so they try for a Field Goal, but the result is misfired bringing the half-time score stopped at 10–16.

After the game was over it took a few minutes to prepare the field for the half-time show and after a few more minutes here is Roberto Salvia who shows up and starts singing with a light show, lasers and excellent choreography showing the futuristic musical side of Ionio being acclaimed by the people for the excellent performance.

The second half began a very long drive by the Lions that resulted in a field goal and the score moved to 13–16. The Wolves responded with another long drive that eventually resulted in a Punt. The Lions answered with a resounding Fumble that eventually led to the Wolves making a touchdown, with the result 13–23.

Lions answered with a Field Goal after their drive lasted a long time, bringing the score to 16–23 while Wolves answered with a punt.

The tension between the teams becomes evident as the Lions scored a touchdown, bringing the result to 23–23. Wolves answered with another touchdown, however missing the extra point leading to the result 23–29. The lions answered with another touchdown and the extra point is good, leading to increased tension for the wolves since the result is 30–29. There were 55 seconds to the end of the game, but the Wolves managed to overturn the result with a fast drive getting a Field Goal bringing the final result to 30–32 decreeing the Rossano Wolves champions of the Ionian Buwl LXIV.
