ISO 3166-1 Alpha-3 Eurth Assembled Nations Proposal (yes very interesting name...)

ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 codes are three-letter country codes defined in ISO 3166-1, part of the ISO 3166 standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), to represent countries, dependent territories, and special areas of geographical interest. They allow a better visual association between the codes and the country names than the two-letter alpha-2 codes (the third set of codes is numeric and hence offers no visual association). They were first included as part of the ISO 3166 standard in its first edition in 1974.

So recently I've been remaking my Eurth Master Sheet, which also includes re-measured land areas, population densities nominal GDPs, etc. Those aren't fully complete yet, but as part of the list I've been using these 3-letter codes to represent a nation. For example: Great Xio's 3 letter code is XIO, Andalla's 3 letter code is AND, Manamana's is LRM (as MAN is for Mantella, LRM stands for L'República Manamaná). I realised, however, that this would actually work pretty well as an Assembled Nations standardised ID for each nation on Eurth.

The codes by themselves won't be entirely useful, but they could be used in future projects like international railways, airports, abbreviations for names, etc. Below is the full list of all codes I've made, it's up to individual members if they'd like to use these codes or make up their own, but with this list every code has been checked to ensure they're unique to eat nation. Whenever a new nation joins we can create a new 3 letter code, and retire any pre-existing codes for nations that are retired/dissolved.

"Tagmatium" isn't Tagmatium's official name.

Would "ARM" for "Aromania" work?

I used just the Anglish names for the standard, using the native & official names if their most obvious Anglish name abbreviations were already taken. I checked ARM and it appears vacant so we could switch Tagmatium to ARM if you'd prefer.

Please change Poja to KPO as the official name is the Konfederacija Poja.  Since we need the 3rd letter PO for Poja works.  There is no entry of KPO at this time so called it.

For example:

• Manamana = MNM (ma·na·ma·na)
• Mantella = MTL (man·tel·la)

• East Ceris = CRE (ce·ris east)
• West Ceris = CRW (ce·ris west)

Just my two cents.

I believe this would probably be a better system, using syllables over first letters. Though I think we could improve it further:
1) If the first 3 letters of a nation name create a recognisable syllable (e.g. Kolhar KOL) then we should keep the first 3 letters.
2) If three 3 first letters has already been taken by another nation, or products an unrecognisable syllable (e.g. Manamana  MAN) we use 3 syllables of the name (Manamana  MNM).
3) If that has also already been taken, we use the full official name of a nation to inform the 3 letter code (L'República Manamaná  LRM).
4) If two countries claim to rule over each other's lands or a name has a direction in its name (North/South/Lower/Upper/etc.) then the direction is the 3rd syllable and we use the 2nd rule for the 1st and 2nd letters (East Ceris  CRE & West Ceris  CRW).

Just like to mention that Gotneska isn’t my nations Anglish name that would be Gotanaland but the three letter code of GOT still works with the true Anglish spelling.
