Yeah I'm writing here cause apparently I can't write in the Academy anymore, sorry. 

So I'm proposing a new country for myself as I want to change from Louvier. I have a lot of new ideas so I'm excited to start a new story. 

 

The Republic of Pecario (Estado de Pecario) is a developing country located in Alharu. Pecario is a unitary democratic republic, divided into nine departments. The poverty rate is around 39%. The main economic activities are agriculture, forestry and fishing, manufacturing products, such as textiles, clothing, refined metals, and refined petroleum. Pecario is thus very rich in metals such as tin, silver, or even lithium. The country has been considered since 2019 as a narco-state and has suffered great violence due to the dominance of drug trafficking.

History

Prior to the Iveric conquest, the lands were inhabited by many cultures. In the 15th century, the country was under the domination of an emerging power, the Tuachec empire (a kind of Inca empire, I don't know if Alharu already had an empire like that).

The Ivericans discovered on their arrival in the seventeenth century, a very large quantity of silver and gold. Before the arrival of the Ivericans, the heights of Pecario were populated by polytheists, then the latter gradually imposed Tacolic Christianity there. Today, the majority of the population is Christian.

Taking advantage of the troubles that shook Iverica in 1746-1747, the people of Pecario rose up and gained their independence in 1753 with the Treaty of Santa Borbones.

Throughout the 19th century, Pecario experienced a period of political instability, marked by frequent coups d'etat and the repeated intervention of the army, which then totaled no less than two-thirds of the state's public expenditure. Moreover various indigenous revolts militant for the equality in the constitution disturb the century.

In 1907 after a 5-year term of President Antonio Graves, who set up a system of public education, accompanied by moderate anticlericalism: Christianity lost its status as the only religion recognized by the State in 1906 and civil marriage was adopted in 1911. 

The end of Graves' term marks a resumption of control by the military. Colonel Paco initiated in 1935 the first nationalization of oil. The period is characterized above all by a renewal of the political landscape.

The end of the 20th century is reflected in a fairly calm period with the succession of several democratically elected presidents allowing a fight against inflation and corruption.

In 2002 an unprecedented economic crisis hit the country under the mandate of President Juan El Chapo, resulting in multiple crowd movements and violent demonstrations. This will lead to the resignation of El Chapo in 2003. The arrival in power of Luis Mesa in 2006 will calm the unrest and he will be regularly re-elected until 2019.

In 2010 the greatest scourge of Pecario emerged from the shadows with the appearance of the Santa Polvo drug cartel. Simple traffickers at the end of the 19th century, they became terrorist narcos. The Pecarian government resisted at first the cartel with the creation in 2014 of a special unit: La Vanguardia. A violent period of conflict with the cartel followed plunging the country to fire and blood. The government of Mesa decides in 2017 to make a secret deal with the cartel: the end of the violence for the end of the persecution against the Santa Polvo cartel. It's a win-win for the Santa Polvo, they gain the silence of the government and they can freely expand their cocaine market without worrying of the others cartels who are still persecuted by the government forces. Pecario thus becomes a hub for cocaine trafficking. This decision will be greatly blamed on President Mesa who will resign in 2019, replaced by Andreas Lineria. Today the country is one of the most corrupt state in the wurld, the government of Presidente Lineria is completely under the orders of the cartel and pretends not seeing the recurring massacres in the country. 

Geography

Pecario is made up of two distinct geographical regions. The West is dominated by high snowy mountains that border a vast plateau, it is in this region that most of the Pecarians live. To the south, the massifs shelter humid valleys and have foothills covered with forests. To the east extend vast alluvial plains which benefit from a tropical climate. The north of these lands is largely covered with desert. 

Economy 

Main activities include agriculture (quinoa, potatoes, rice, coffee, coca) and forestry, mining (silver, lithium, gas), manufacturing of goods such as textiles and clothing, or refining of metals and petroleum. Tourism is also an important source of income in the country.

Culture

Pecarian culture has been strongly influenced by the natives present in the territory and the Tuachecs. Important archaeological remains, gold and silver ornaments, stone monuments, ceramics, weavings still present today come from several cultures. The country is full of other sites that are difficult to reach and have been the subject of little archaeological exploration. The national sport is football, table football being also very popular.

The traditional use of coca leaves is 5000 years old in Pecario. In Pecario, bags of it are sold in local markets and by street vendors. Most people chew coca. The cultivation and consumption of coca is part of the national culture. It's also a powerful symbol of cultural and religious identity among the indigenous tribes. 

Government

Pecario is a republic of presidential form. The president, elected every 5 years, is both head of state and head of government. He appoints ministers. The parliament is made up of two chambers: the Chamber of Senators, made up of 30 seats, and the Chamber of Deputies, made up of 120 seats. The Law of Citizen Groups and Indigenous Peoples, enacted on October 27, 2003, ended the monopoly of political parties for the country's main elections. It authorizes indigenous peoples to present candidates in municipal, departmental and national elections. Pecarian cities are run by mayors and councils elected for five years. The current President is Andreas Lineria.

This I can explain. Since you graduated and are no longer a candidate, you can read the academy but not post there. This is done to prevent non-mentors from commenting on academy topics. (Likewise, candidates cannot post in the RP sections that full members use. They first need to graduate.)
