Saint Pavel’s Day is on the last Sunday of every May and celebrates the arrival of Saint Pavel and the dawn of Christianity in Garindina. Join us and learn more about this cultural celebration!

 

About Saint Pavel himself

Saint Pavel, believed to have journeyed from the @Ahranan Empire, arrived in Parsa in the early 11th century. Bringing with him the teachings of Christianity that have left an undeniable mark on our nation’s history and culture. His arrival marked the beginning of a period of change from the old faith, starting the Christianization of Garindina. His virtues of compassion and selflessness have left a mark on Garindinan culture.

On Saint Pavel’s Day, the bustling streets of Parsa are filled with the sound of hymns, processions, and church bells. Processions start off the day with hymns being heard and banners of Christ being adorned. With the processions being followed by solemn mass in cathedrals throughout the country. This sacred day is a time of reflection and spiritual renewal for Garindina. Join us in honoring Saint Pavel and the enduring values he helped bring to our culture, or simply immerse yourself in the atmosphere of spiritual celebration that defines this special day.

From noon onwards, vendors in markets across Garindina sell traditional and modern delicacies that have been cherished for generations. Visitors can savor Garindinan honey bread, stuffed blini, and various roasted meats and stews. But don’t spoil your appetite, as for dinner, many cultural centers (commonly referred to as “Sokols”) host public feast with roast goose and Yuzhstovan buffalo stew. With dessert featuring medovik (honey cake), Fermivka apple pie, and Paras mushroom pie and many more sweet and delicious treats!
