(A) ETYMOLOGY

The name Saphieron derived its name from the Sheng word "Lanbaoshi", in universal language translated as "Sapphire".

(B) HISTORY

Quote

The Nation State originated when Sheng tribes from eastern Alharu, with their ancient boats migrated to a land somewhere in the Gulf of Auriel, just south of Tiauhai sea, this land, they called it “Shouyang de tudi”, this is where the migrants made their home with more of their kin migrated over time. It was inhabited by the native Mitonese, which also Migrated there prior to the Sheng migration, they were the original settlers, so they simply were the natives according to the new migrants. As a result, many Sheng settlers traded and even warred with the Mitonese, As time pass this resulted intermixing between the two cultures, this eventually formed the basic societal framework of the land, a gradual intermixing of two cultures. But during this era, Sheng and Mitonese populations usually live apart, since the 3 major Islands were separated by water, intermixing was generally rare.

In a span of a thousand years or so some small influential tribes grew in to city states, until more city states were formed one by one. One city grew to prominence over the others, the city of Baolei, where rulers rule through diplomacy rather than military force, other powerful autocratic states envied Baolei and allied with each other. Years later, this resulted in region spanning war that affected the land, ultimately it led to the defeat of the city of Baolei and societal development of almost all city states was set back, barbarity and violence ruled the land once more. Hundreds of years later, after the “Dazhan”/"Grand war" (the war between Baolei and the Red Powder Alliance). Then the “Ideological Revolution” emerged, a series of civil wars and revolutions happening to many cities, this led to downfall of old autocrats and monarchs. The land grew tired and exhausted as some cities fell into total ruin and anarchy. Eventually the new rulers of the old cities from all four corners of the land decided, big or small, out of necessity, formed a single united nation, a coalition of cities and villages, through their blessings, and the will of the people, this all encompassing nation state was called Lanbaoshi. Thus, this event in history is considered by modern historian as the turning point or foundation that led to the creation of modern Saphieron. 

(C) GEOGRAPHY

The nation is an archipelagic by nature and can be both described as a desert and a savanna. It has 3 large islands which are relatively near to each other, 2 of them consists of warm tropical grasslands, supporting a wide collection of animals and plant life, while the other, is filled with wondrous desert sand, also home to multiple varieties of species. The country boasts a small range of mountainous locations from its eastern half, such as the Hainan mountain range on the southern Island, which is one of the few yet stunning mountain ranges in the archipelago.

(D) ECONOMY

The Federal Republic of Saphieron is a highly developed free market economy, specializing in financial, telecommunication and information services, other major reasons for its prosperity includes a robust agriculture and manufacturing industry, particularly the production of highly valued semi-conductors, which is one of the countries top exports.

(E) GOVERNMENT

Quote

The country currently is a Federal Parliamentary Republic.

From the Executive Branch, the Prime Minister sees to the day to day workings of the country, and the president, which occupies the highest office of government which only functions as a ceremonial role, the executive department houses itself inside Zhengfu Tower / government tower, the capitol building. The Legislation, The Parliament of the Republic (PAR) consists of 211 parliamentary members, all serving a maximum of 4 years, while the Judiciary, Swan Hall (SHA), have a total of 80 members, these already include the Supreme Court, High Court and District Court respectively.

(F) ETHNICITY

The nation has a 68 percent Sheng origin majority, with a long history of intermixing, many are still considered mainly Sheng by outsiders as their overall features matches those from eastern Alharu originally, the rest of the 30 percent are of Mitonese origin, the last 2 percent would be nationalized citizens and foreign migrants. Officially, the sub-culture is called Shengto, a mix between both Sheng and Mito which has been ongoing ever since its foundation.

(G) RELIGION

The country Polytheistic in nature due to its Sheng influenced origin, where the most powerful God Shangdi serves as the nations official deity. the other half of the population, the other half, have Mitonese origins therefore Shintoism is also prevalent, where they worship spirits rather than a single or multiple Gods. 

(H) CULTURE

Quote

The mainline culture is filled with Sheng and Mitonese based origins, from food, personal habits, and beliefs, usually citizens don't consider one area of the said culture totally separate from the other, this leads to the practice of intermixing both cultures into one. This sub-culture, is locally called as Shengto. to call someone purely sheng or purely Mito is to consider oneself ignorant of the culture, by then, your hospitable Saphierian neighbor might decide to rid of you the free cookies he or she might have been giving you every week.

The system of writing the Mongolian system, which originated from Buddhism which is practiced in nearby countries or regions outside of modern Saphieron,  particularly around the era of the Sheng dynasty.

(I) LANGUAGE

Sapherian lingua franca has its origin from Sheng and Mito, overtime this mixture created a whole new language that is indiscernible from its origins, you might understand a word or two, but to understand the whole sentence, you might as well give up.

(J) MILITARY

Quote

For at least 50 years the country has been requiring high school graduates to serve in the military, graduates are mandated to serve for two years / two terms, therefore, the country gradually adopted a militaristic culture even though the state leans more towards diplomacy.

The republic military is split into 5 forces, The Ground Force, Navy, Airforce, Special Command, and Cyber Command. The Ground Force consists of the republics' land forces, specializing in land based battlefields, roughly 70,000 strong. The Navy consists of the republics' sea forces, specializing in water based battlefields, roughly 30,000 strong. and the Airforce, which consists of the republics' sky forces, specializing in aerial battlefields, roughly 20,000 strong. The last two are considered special branches but ultimately a part of the military arm of the nation, these are the Special Command, which consists of an unknown number of personnel, the SPC usually deals with rocket fuel based weapons or other modes of strategic warfare but its general classification was never disclosed to the public, and the Cyber Command, its classification and usage is widely known as the Cyberspace front of the nation, the branch generally deals with "Informationized" battlefields.

One might say the country is militaristic on on hand (due to its complex history) and diplomatically leaning on the other.
