Sultan Tawfiq Naji al-Utica Talks to Citizens About Tusis's Future

(In the TNA commentary room)

Sarvia: Welcome back, today we have a breaking story.

Eshmun: The sultan wishes to inform his subjects on the future of Tusis and his plans on the economy.

Sarvia: We have a live reporter on the ground to give us this historical moment live.

(Outside the Balzer Palace's doors)

Reporter: Thank you Sarvia. Yes, today Sultan Tawfiq Naji al-Utica is addressing the nation outside the royal palace.

(Greater amount of information is displayed until Tawfiq comes out of the palace doors to a preplaced stand.)

Tawfiq: Thank you for coming today as this message will affect you all. Two days ago peace was signed ending the civil war that has raged against our nation. Now the government, under my leadership, may now focus on the people's wellbeing instead of their safty against radical groups of indivduals. This five step plan will bring this country out of poverty and into the twenty-first century. With this peace deal just over forty-three thousand rebels will redeem themselves by building up this country with twenty years of community service. With this I hope to one- build up local industry, two- create canals and open up rivers to make them traversable, three- develop and rebuild the cities for tourism and our citizens, four- create economic treaties with foreign nations, and five- to build a profitable and effective military sector to protect our future economic developments. If we can accomplish all five objectives then we may clean up the destruction that was brought by these delusional terrorists and... *bzzzz*

(The TV in a city apertment turns off)

Kid: Moooom! I was watching the TV!

Mom: Sorry Danel, but that man will make you sick in the head if you liste to him long enough.

Danel: But he says that things will be better!

(Mom walks to her son)

Mom: You see, that's what I am talking about! I promise Danel nothing that he promises will come from good.

Danel: He brought you back...

(He pouts)

Mom: And he will take me away for community service till you turn thirty and have little children of your own.

Danel: NO, he can't!

(The kid runs to his mom hugging her)

Mom: Oh, don't worry I'll still will be here, you'll just have to live with Aunt Thanaa again.

Danel: But I don't want to, her house stinks.

Mom: Don't worry my sweet prince, I can promise with good that we will be fine.

(She rubs her sons hair comforting him)

The Government Announces Major Funding and Changes to the IDA

Lights... Camera...

Producer: We're on!

Sarvia and Eshmun smile to the camera.

Sarvia: Welcome back! This just in, Sultan Tawfiq Naji al-Utica has just announced an expansion to the IDA

Eshmun: The IDA is now gaining a fity million dinars to its funding. Its also now focusing not just on rebuilding destroyed and develpoing new homes and towns, but canals, roads, train tracks, airports, ports, and all other forms of transportation infrastructure.

Sarvia: This expansion plans to unite Tusis economically and politically with the freedom of movement.

Eshmun: And anyone who joins needing to get through their community service hours will have every hour under employment count as community service hours, unless if payment is given.

Sarvia: The Sultan calls these measures "phase one" of an on going economic recovery from the civil war.

Eshmun: Yes, and in fact we have the head of the IDA here!

An old grizzled man walks into frame. He sits down on a guest chair

Sarvia: Welcome, Rushdi al-Anibal. So please tell us how the IDA plans to improve infrastructure in Tusis.

Rushdi: Well, most homes have been fully rebuilt throughout the country; besides where the last of the fighting happened in the countryside. So, now we may focus on rebuilding roads, train tracks, and developing new routes. With this funding we will build Tusis into a modern nation, one that will make our ancestors proud.

Eshmun: And what about those who will join to clear off their community service hours?

Rushdi: If you have concernce about who will take care of your children, schools will now be able to become daycares twenty-four seven. The government will makesure that each child is well fed, treated, tought, and looked after. As four any spouses that you are leaving, they will have to find work. A sacrifice to see your later years free from service.

Sarvia: So, if you wish to have your community service hours cleared quickly, please go to your closest IDA office building, or call (006) 673-89022

*bzzzz*

The TV turns off.

Mom: Well I guess they're giving us no choice.

Danel plays with a friend of his in the kitchen. The mom looks over at them.

Mom: But it'll be worth it... right?

Sultan Announces to Find a Wife - And Other News

The uncanny, wide smiles from Eshmun and Sarvia puncture the television screen.

Sarvia: Welcome back to the TNA.

Eshmun: Last hour, we got confirmation from the government that Sultan Tawfiq Naji al-Utica has decided to find a wife.

Sarvia: The Sultan hasn't deemed it necessary to find a partner to produce an heir, as our Sultan has been focused on building our nation from civil war.

Eshmun: We don't know the details of potential wives, so we will keep you all updated when we receive news.

Sarvia: For now, we ask the public not to theorize or project ideas of the marriage to respect the privacy of the Sultan and not bring confusion to the marriage.

Eshmun: In other news, the Tusisian Viziers have accepted the @Garindinan proposal to invest in our nation, and a date will be set up between our two nations later.

Sarvia: The investment will hopefully bring final repairs to urban areas, develop our mining industry, and modernize our agricultural industries.

Eshmun: The Sultan has stated that he "hopes for good business and a brighter tomorrow" with the Garindina state.

Sarvia: The future is certainly looking bright for Tusis, Eshmun. In other news...

The TV turns static as the train enters a "dead zone." The train is filled to the brim with people of all demographics. An elderly man is coughing, a mother decided it was a good idea to bring her child with her, and I am here, waiting to get to my destination, to (almost) willingly become an indentured servant. I used to fight for something; I used to mean something, just like everyone else who is on this train to Jahannam. However, just like everyone else, I have lost. The civil war killed our passions and souls. We once thought the government was a paper tiger when compared to the might of the people and it may be, but when the people are fighting each other, we become the paper tigers. The train comes to a stop. Outside is a wasteland, a piece of green (that looks healthy anyways) in sight. Only a small empty town stands, adding to the dead feeling. The conductor on a speaker tells us to all hop off the train and line up. After about half an hour, we complete the task, all (about) 800 of us. A militant-looking figure steps in front of us. He is decorated in medals with a 1990s army uniform. His form is slightly sloppy for a military officer, so he's probably been retired for years now; he looks like he's in his late 60s.

The General: My name is Khaleefa al-Azer, you will call me Commander, and this is where you will be living until you are either transferred, dead, or paid off your time!
