Popular Post Seylos
The people of Argis have spoken and we would like to request a Dutch-like NPC state in the following location. Map Name: Iwenland Capital: Jemoederdam (Located in the south split between the island and the mainland) Official Dutch Name: Eiweenland Point System Allocation: Population: 1 (21 million) Economy: 2 (17,000 GDP Per Capita) Land: 1 (I'm hoping the island fits into that) Background: Iwenland has sat between the Anglish and Dolch worlds since it's creation in 1732. It was a hub of several cultural interactions over the years, and unlike the island of Ceris, developed a distinct yet linked culture to the countries that surrounded it. It for the most part has led a relatively peaceful and uneventful existence, making its way in the wurld as a country of traders up until the 1900s. However in 1814, the Dolch Empire began to press land claims on the country aggressively, which led to the Dolch-Iwish war ending in 1816 with the country occupied by the Dolch. For the next fifty years the Dolch would proclaim it as part of their greater empire. Continued conflict with Seylos and loss of colonies abroad though eroded Dolch power in the region, and with decentralization on the rise in Dolchland their grip on Iwenland was waning. This culminated in the Iwish Liberation War in 1867, with the people of Iwenland feverishly fighting for their independence again. To make maters worse for the Dolch, other local powers eagerly joined their support in liberating the Iwish. By 1868, the Dolch had been effectively pushed out of the country and forced to sign an embarrassing peace treaty recognizing the independence of Iwenland and further accelerating their decline. Still even today the newly reformed Dolch Empire under Heinrich Johannes von Ausburg claims Iwenland as part of its core territory seeing it as an easy target for its new expansions as the country has only a small military since it had been under the protective watch of Seylos and Delamaria. ย 12 Link to comment
Delamaria
I am perfectly happy with this proposal. Location wise it works with my history and culture as well as Bruxenburgโs. As Bruxenburg is a Dutch-descendant country it would make sense that the Dutch migrated across the bay in such a fashion, as it would also with the Dutch colonies in Delamaria which were located mostly along the southern shore. I do like the proposed history and relationship with Dolchland and future possibilities there. Overall I see no problem with this proposal and think it would be beneficial to the region and lore. 5 Link to comment
