Orioni expands, again

Orioni

TO: All nations in Europa

FROM: Orioni

SUBJECT: Expansion

Orioni has been waiting for some time now, but after quite a long deliberation it has been decided that we will be colonising two areas. We have succesfully done so in the past and hope to achieve the same with this initiative. The areas in question are currently unoccipied and have never been inhabited by any nation before. This makes our claim completely legitimate and reasonably contestable. (OOC: I have already filed this legitimate request in the map thread.)

The areas in question are:

  • Area: #17

    Name: CORONA BOREALIS.

    Capital: Corona Borealis.

  • Area: #81

    Name: SIRIUS.

    Capital: Eridanus.

    Other cities: Sirus, Perseus.

The Orioni Government has already asked for the support of Sevrun, Vanarambaion and Stoned Smurfs. We will back their claims if they do the same for us. The Orioni Goverment also asks our great friends of Phil IV and Byzantium Nova to support this claim.

How does Europa respond?

FROM: Orioni

SUBJECT: Expansion

The Orioni Government ask your support for the expansion into area 17. If you do so, you will be greatly rewarded: your economy will flourish due to the appearance of a new and friendly trade partner. We hope that you see the positive side of this claim, which would mean a great opportunity for your nation.

TO: Abyssio, Amnalos, San Ba, Koku

FROM: Orioni

SUBJECT: Expansion

The Orioni Government ask your support for the expansion into area 81. Our empire has been trading with your nations for ages and would like to strengthen this relation by opening new outlets and providing new products and mineral resources. We hope that you see the positive side of this claim, which would mean a great opportunity for your nation.

We are aware of the tactical possibilities but our interests in the colonies are mainly commercial. New resources would be made available, trade would flourish and the expanded commercial network would also benefit Niederoestereich in some way.

It has been noted that you would like to stay neutral in this matter.

Isn't Europa going to get really cramped soon? I think there should be a limit as to how many plots a country should occupy, as sonn the map will be dominated by a few large countries and smaller countries won't be able to get a place on the map, or will only be able to get the worse plots in poor postions.

@ Tagmatium: True, but if you look at the map it might seem reasonable to think that not everything has been explored yet. I've been thinking about an RP-style discoverymission like that for quite some time haven't really been able to find time to work one out. It would also require a lot of work from Byzantium Nova, our mapgod. I think it's best if we leave the option open and work out a solution when it actually poses a problem. Besides, nation are removed from the map as well.

Oh yes: your idea of limiting the number of lots a nation can have seems reasonable enough.

@ Byzantium Nova: What do you think?

@ Meteorola: Noted. I take that as a neutral response.

Koku and the people of Koku land welcome a new establishment of a colony at#81 called Sirius.

We see that your great empire is under challenges of demands, and plots of land are yet to explore. We are certain that, with your know-how and investments, the plot #81 can become a well organized habitats.

We wish you well, and look forward to strengthen our trading relations and collaborations.
