Hello fellow Eurthan’s

I’d like to create this NPC to farther help with my nations history. But also make it to where the Nanuvat people aren’t just imagined but are for real people on our amazing planet.

Below is a map of the area I’d like to create a a NPC. Also note I don’t plan on expanding into this region.

color key guide;

Orange: Is the territory claimed and controlled by the Nation of Nanaviit.

Blue: lands that gotneska controls and owns. This is because of the 1995 treaty between Nanaviit & Gotneska. Main reason is that areas are full of international cargo ships and Nanaviit lacks the ability to in force laws in its waterways as the nation depends on its southern neighbor for protection.

Purple: Is an area of Northern Gotneska that could call for independence as the region is majority Nanuvat and secondly is extremely cut of from the rest of Gotneska.

The Nation of Nanaviit

Nanaviit is a northern Argis nation located north of the nation of Gotneska, and Northeast  of @Ulfheimr. This nation unlike its southern neighbors has keep the nomadic lifestyle at the way up to modern time. Yes there are a few cities or towns all over Nanaviit.

Here are some facts about its people.

• Population is 487,623

• Precent that live nomadic lifestyle: 62% which is roughly  326,707, Meaning that 38% or 160,916 people live within a city or town.

History of Prehistoric  Nanaviit

The region that makes up what is present-day Nanaviit, has been inhabited by humans since about the end of the last Ice Age, some 48 thousand years ago. No one truly knows how long they have lived in Northwestern Yeetland. But most sources say the earliest evidence of people living in the region was around 24,000 YA. These people would had mostly just spent there summers hunting wild game. The oldest stone artifact was discovered in 1909 by Jarl Ían Konráðsson. About 5km south of the River Aohie (Æji).

The Geltic peoples of Yeetland write down that when they first the Nanuvat peoples, at first it was a friendly affair but as time passed the two sides started to resent one another. In the year 879 a massive battle just north of Lake Killaloe (Loch Cill Dalua).  The earliest evidence of contact between the Geltic people and the Nanuvat is somewhere between 1200 to 900 BC. But the Norse-Nanuvat contact in this part of Argis doesn’t happen till about 500 BC. Main reason is that Norse people had been dealing with the western Nanuvat since there arrival to Argis.

The Goutian Empire

The region that today makes up Nanaviit, was as it is today a large area of northwestern Yeetland home to dozens of Nomadic tribes. By the time the Sixteenth century came along live in this part of yeetland had not changed for thousands of years, they would have had contact with the Geltic or Córda people of Gotneska. Hits why in artwork you can sometimes see Córda Weapons.

Creation of the Nanaviit Nation

A Nanuvat nation of eastern Argis had been thought of since the early 1850’s but with nothing really demanding any change the Nanuvat people would stay part of the Goutian Empire. But once the empire fell apart in 1979 from the onset of Civil War in Gotneska, the Nanuvat peoples where in a unique situation to where they where no longer ruled by another people.

But this would create some conflict as Gotneska being to busy with its own conflict the Nanuvat peoples of western yeetland had to in there own power decide what was best even if that meant leaving a nation that had at times discrimination them but at other times helped significantly increase there standards of living. From 1979 to 1988 the Nanuvat people would be nationless, during this period of time. Known as the Long years period, was a significant amount of time to where local chieftain would rule creating about 10 or so smaller Tribal Nations. These Ten leaders would in the summer of 1989 meet to discuss there peoples future, most wished to stay as part of Gotneska but as no one could see a end to there conflict it was decided that it be better to create there own nation regardless if Gotneska would approve. So on the 22 August 1989, the Nation of Nanaviit  constitution setting the framework for the new nation.

In May 1995, less then a year after the Gotneksan Civil War end. The Kingdom of Gotneska fully recognized the new sovereign Nation of Nanaviit. This was a major set forward as with the approval of there former nation they could know have full membership to the international community. Later that year the Treaty of Naomh Peatáin, was signed under this treaty the nation of Gotneska would be promoted to claim lands within Nanaviit that because of the Argic Seaway canal would force thousands of vessels to travel thur there waterways and the new government knowing they would never wish to form a navy it be in there best interest. As being a nation of majority nomadic people, it would very difficult to keep a standing army yet a navy.

Modern Nanaviit

In the modern times Nanaviit, has to deal with the following major issues.

1. Climate change is affecting the coastal regions. How one is shorter Ice season meaning what some locals need to survive (Seals) is much more dangerous to get. Two with sea level rise community’s are being forced inland.

2. Pretending the Argic Sea from foreign nations that wish to do harm in the region. This is something Nanaviit and Gotneska share a major concern about.

3. There complex relationship with Gotneska. More about this later!!

Do you want those areas that you have highlighted differentiated on the map? Especially the areas under Gotneska's direct control.

If possible I’d like if we could some how show what area are under Gotneskan Control.

If possible I’d like to make a new updated version of the areas in blue. For the most part it will stay the same but just tiny changes. The map I have on here was made with my phone so it’s not as good.

Economy of Nanaviit

The largest sectors of the Nanaviit economy are largely based around Fishing (10%), hunting of sea mammals (50%),  Caribou 25%, and for civilized peoples Mining.

Demographics

Something most people don’t realize is that the far eastern Nanaviit is manly inhabited by nomadic Córda people (Geltic), they make up less then 8% of the nation’s population but like there Nanuvat friends they have been able to live a simple lifestyle for thousands of years. The remaining 92% are of course Nanuvat. Some sources like to include Gotneskan’s but most Nanuvat reports generally never include people born outside the nation.

Language’s of the Nanaviit Nation

—this section will be updated when I have learned about the Inuit language—

I am sorry that I can’t full stat this as of know.

Just to make sure everyone knows, Nanaviit is giving permission for the Polar Service  to establish a post. This is also helped by the Gotneskan’s Navy and any other North Argis Nation!!

As this NPC request has been shifted to one of an expansion request (as stated in the Discord) as Gotneska the nation would be expanding its land area by taking control of Nanaviit's northern coastline, this request will have to be halted as you do not yet qualify for an expansion. You have not significantly interacted with another member in an RP. You have responded to another member's RP but I wouldn't call this interacting as it was a one time incident. We would like for you to participate with the community before expanding your nation.

There's really only two choices available for you. You can relinquish your control of Nanaviit's territory in the north and have Nanaviit be a generalist NPC, or get involved in/create an RP with other members then revive this thread afterwards once you qualify.

I fully understand that, I thought we discussed me relinquish the expansion part of the request. I have some wbing stuff I’m doing with under members but it’s in the beginning stages of development. It would help if my neighbors would do stuff with me too!!

If you wish to relinquish the expansion part of the request, then I can go ahead and accept this NPC with the consent of @Ulfheimr :).

Hello I’d like to change the name Nanvaitt to Kitikmeot. This new name will be a modern version for the newly unified nation. It means Home of the People.

Hello after some discussion about climate I’d like to move this town to this new location.

TdrZuXl.jpg

why is Tulok being moved it’s current location is ice cap climate which idk why I put it there as it’s been that way since I’ve joined. New location is north of the ice cap being tundra and probably based on what I see the second most northern town in the wurld
