Popular Post Xio
Hey guys, Unfortunately, there have been some major issues with the map for the past 24 hours. Myself and Orioni believe there has been a deliberate sabotage to the forum and our Google drives by a third party. This morning on the forum our slippy map was deleted (Orioni has found the backdoor account being used and has subsequently deleted it, don't worry) and our Google drives had been hijacked for previous versions and our drafts and its contents deleted last night. Basically, we have no v5 or v4 Eurth maps. We suspect it had come from either a banned member, a NS group that is hostile to the URA, or most likely both. The staff we believed to be the most capable at dealing with this sort of issue were already alerted last night and to stay on guard in case the Discord was also attacked by this same third party. We also believe this third party was the same one who gave us the cease and desist order last year that thankfully never went anywhere. However, all is not lost! Whilst digging in the deepest archives of Eurth, in the old v1 and v2 map threads, I was able to uncover what is perhaps the only link that isn't broken from the pre-2010s era of Eurth. The map is from 2004-2005, so it will be slightly outdated and a bit crusty on the edges. A new map v6 forum thread has already been opened, and we're accepted applications to re-join the map. The form to re-joining is also at the top of the thread. We apologise to the community for such a devastating loss to the community, and we hope next year nothing like this will happen again.➡️ Hopefully the new map would have been uploaded at the time of posting this. Your Cartographers, Stijn "@Orioni" & Josh "@Xio"P.S.: you can see the new v6 map thread here. 11 Link to comment
Orioni
Thank you, @Xio. This is an unpleasant surprise, but not an unexpected one. For the past few months, I've been receiving repeated notifications of people trying to log in to the admin backend. Not just once, but several hundred times, actually. 7 Link to comment
