The Electoral Commission of the United Kingdom of Ahrana oversees all Elections that take place in the Realm. This thread is dedicated to all Federal, Regional, Provicinal, and City/Towns Elections during Election Cycles which follow typically a two-four basis.

Election Cylce 2022

Federal and Regional Elections Cycle

For the Election Cycle of 2022 the Federal and Regional Parliaments are in a state of Election meaning either one half or more of the Parliament is up for election per the Election Rules set forth by the Constitution and the Electoral Commission.

This Cycle the Federal Parliament of the United Kingdom of Ahrana has required all Members of Parliament to run for re-election with the addition of One Hundred Seats to the Parliamentary House with the Grand Duchy of Elde and the Kingdom of Uppsund rejoining the Union.

In addition, the Regional Parliaments across the Realm are also in a state of Election, with the Parliamentary Houses of Xara, Elde, Uppsund, Peterburi, and Tata requiring all Members of the Houses to run for election. This requirement is due to these Member States passing new Election Laws placing Term Limits on its Members of Parliament. In the Regional Parliaments of Tatani, Ahran, Moskovo, Lockiee, and Thralhaven only half of the Parliamentary Houses are up for Election.

So far, the following Political Organizations have registered with the Electoral Commission to part take in the Federal and Regional Elections:

Any other Political Organization that has not been registered with the Electoral Commission by the 25 March 2022 will not be allowed on the 2022 Federal and Regional Electoral Ballot.

The Electoral Commission asks that any Citizen either in the Realm or Abroad please ensure you are Registered to Vote on the 30 March 2022, mail in voting will be accepted but these ballots will not be counted till the day after the Election ends. 

The Electoral Commission has also stated that after Election Day, 30 March 2022, there will be a two-day delay in verifying the entire Ballots for the entire Election at the Federal and Regional Levels. The Official Results will be announced on 3 April 2022 and the Officials ask that any Government formation be delayed till the Official Results are posted.

The Party Platforms have been released by those parties that have created a unified party platform. These Parties that created such a platform are the Loyalist Party, Social Democrats, The Green Party, and the Christian Democrats. Many of these platforms are the same as the previous election cycle and the previous government cycle as well.

The Loyalist Party

Overview-

The Loyalist party will pursue three main objectives in its tenure in Government under re-election this cycle, Healthcare, Education, and Defense. Not only will these three objectives be actively pursued the Economy will also be pursued in conjunction with these three objectives.

Foreign Policy-

The Foreign Policy of Loyalist Policy will remain the same in lines with the current policy implored to a degree. The Loyalist Party believes Ahrana should start playing a bigger role in Central Argis and should take responsibility in upholding Peace, Justice, and Democracy where it is threatened. In addition, Ahrana should continue playing an important role in the area of Peacekeeping Missions across the Wurld as a way to give back to those countries and its peoples that need a bit of extra help.

The Loyalist Party also believes that Ahrana no longer may be able to sit back and watch the wurld crumble into war and strife, we believe that we must take an active role especially in Central Argis and Argis as a whole and ensure Peace and Stability is given root in all areas of Influence around Ahrana.

The Loyalist Party in terms of the Dniesterian Conflict and Situation currently plaguing that if push comes to shove none the less that aggression should be met with aggression if it comes to that. The Loyalist Party will attempt all possible peaceful solutions to this issue, but the use of force will be the last resort used.

Domestic Policy-

Social:

The Loyalist Party will encourage further research in how the current taxes are affecting the country and its people as well as the immigrants and refugees that have settled in the Realm of Ahrana. The Healthcare Policy will be researched as well and ways to improve the Healthcare Policy and the System that is currently in place will be able to be bettered in any way or if replacing the system is needed.

The Loyalist Policy will also form a commission called the Human Rights Commission for Ahrana to ensure that all Citizens, Refugees, and Immigrants are receiving their basic rights entitlements while inside the Realm of Ahrana, any violations will be handled by the Commission and the Federal Courts for Violations to the Constitutional Rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution.

Economic:

The Loyalist Party will also look at the Energy Policy and the resources used in the Energy Sector of the Kingdom, while the current government has emphasized on the use of green and renewable energy sources the current Loyalist Party objective in this regard is the same currently in use in the government. The current Nuclear Research will be continued and the current promise to build several newer Nuclear Power Plants and Reactors at active Plants will also be carried out. Not only will Nuclear Power be granted a growing expanse so will the area of Wind and Hydro Power. The Loyalist Party will build several Wind Turbine Facilities across the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Coasts to harness the Wind for Electrical Power. The Loyalist Party will also look to build several dams throughout the Kingdom to harness the power of Water for Electricity as well.

The Loyalist Party will also seek to create new Economic agreements and connections with the other countries throughout the wurld that do not currently trade with Ahrana. Any new connections will be sought after. These new tradelines will start with looking at Argic Nations and then follow through with other nations that have good relations with the Kingdom.

Social Democrats

Overview:

The Party of the Social Democrats have historically focused on Social Security, Security of the Nation, and the Advancement of the Economy. Not much has changed in this desire of focus for the party.

Foreign Policy-

The Social Democrats will focus in terms of Foreign Policy on maintaining a defensive posture to the wurld, with most members believing that Ahrana should not involve itself in wurldly matters and should stick and focus on what is going on in the realm. The idea of Peacekeeping Missions in another country is not something that would be sought after under the Social Democrats and interfering in another countries internal strife is of no focus of the party or of a government ran by the party.

In the area of the Dniesterian Conflict and Situation the Party believes that an invasion should be initiated immediately and that all peaceful solutions to end this situation have long passed and given considerable thought. The whole of Dniester should be made a part of the Realm of Ahrana, and these Terrorists dealt with in a matter available by the court of law.

Domestic Policy-

Social:

The Social Democrats believe that the Member States of the Realm of Ahrana should have the authority to police the Constitutional Rights of the People and that the Federal Government should delegate that right to the Member States. Furthermore, a Federal Commission of Human Rights is seen as to much Federal bureaucracy and should not exist.

The Party believes that the Social and Healthcare System needs the most attention next to the Defense System. The Healthcare System has fallen into disrepair due to government neglect over the years and therefore it should be replaced with a new system. This new System will allow the addition of several thousands of new Healthcare Workers into the system. The System will also allow greater access to healthcare to many who currently cannot afford healthcare, the government should start to take on the burden for these people.

The Social System should also be expanded to allow an increase in pensions for those who are on the pension program. The current program is what is needed for the Realm, but it needs to be expanded and given additional funding to allow those who have not been able to draw from their pensions to do so. The Party believes that any form of a Pension Tax should not be allowed to be implemented as it harms those who receive and live off their pension.

The Party also believes the current Tax strategy is in adequate and needs to be redone to make more of the tax to include the 1% that currently are not being taxed enough in the eyes of the party.

The Party also believes that the current Security in the Realm is not adequate given the recent terrorist attacks from Dniester. The Federal Police Services need to be expanded with additional Policing Laws that expand and detail out their abilities and so forth. The current training the Federal Police receive before being allowed to serve the public needs to be taken up a few more steps to ensure the Public are getting what their taxes are paying for in terms of Public Safety.

The Green Party

Overview-

The Green Party believes in making the country run off green energy and making the environmental budget increase to a degree where policies are influenced by the Green Policy. The Party believes in renewable energy, using green energy trains, and green economics.

Foreign Policy:

The Green Party believes that Ahrana should remain neutral in all foreign matters and should not part take in any international organization that may hinder the neutrality of the Realm. The additional funding that many parties want to do goes against the neutrality policy the Green Party wants to introduce.

In terms of the Dniesterian Conflict and Situation the Green Party is against the idea of going to war with Dniester over the recent terrorist attacks. The party would push for peaceful solutions to be taken over the aggressive stance that many are so to eager to jump into.

Domestic Policy-

Social:

The Green Party believes that the educational policy should be given more funding and research to provide the children and young adults of the Realm with a well-rounded education that will help them succeed in the workforce of whichever they choose to do.

The Party also believes that the current Social Security Policy needs to be given more thought as it does not do enough for the wellbeing of those who use the Social Security System to live.

The Party also believes that the healthcare system needs major improvement to allow for the healthcare workers and those seeking healthcare to be able to use the system and get adequate treatment and to be able to pay for it without having to pay expensive bills for the treatment.

Christian Democrats

Overview-

The Christian Democrats believe the government should revolved around Safety and Security, Welfare System, Education, and Government Spending. The Christian Democrats believe that this should dominate the policy of the government over defense.

Foreign Policy-

The Christian Democrats believe in the neutrality of the Realm and believes that Ahrana is better off not joining any international organizations that could jeopardize that neutrality. However, the Party is not against having a moderately strong defense sector that is able to defend itself when needed.

The Dniesterian Conflict and Situation is a hot topic in the party with the majority believing that protection the citizens of Ahrana is the upmost top priority. This is believed to achieved by declaring war on those who wish to seek harm against a nation of peaceful intents.

Domestic Policy-

Social:

The Party believes that the current welfare system that is in place for the aging population is not being given the adequate funding to be able to care for the elderly population. The System needs additional funding, and the elderly population also needs additional housing that is provided by the Regional and Federal government.

The Party also believes that the current level of spending of the government has loosely been agreed with a lot of funding being allocated being lost in the bureaucracy. The Party wants to create a organization to track the funding and budget of the federal government to ensure all tax dollars are being used and allocated and not swindled somewhere else.

The education system also needs additional funding to help combat the rise of crime throughout the Realm. The current education system is being granted a medium amount of funds, but more is needed to help provide all information to the younger generation so that they can create a better life for themselves.

As election day continues, we just want to remind every citizen of the Realm whether they are inside the Realm or outside the territory that all votes will be counted by April 3, 2022, by 00:00 AST. This includes all Mail in votes and Digital Votes done at the Embassies and Consulates as well as the Votes from the Ahranaian Peacekeepers stationed in the State of Kauni that is in the middle of a Civil War.

1200AST:

As the votes continue to roll in, we have experience minor problems with the Electronic Voting Machines, but the manufacture has issued a statement to the Electoral Commission that these issues are related to how many votes are coming in electronically. It also stated that the Online Votes coming from the Government Secured Voting Cite for those abroad is also affecting the system. We at the Electoral Commission do expect all votes to arrive on time for the official results.

1500AST:

The Electoral Commission Independent Poll Stations have received the first Polling Graph of the counted votes so far. As of 1500AST, The Loyalist Party leads with five votes over the Christian Democrats Votes for Seats currently. The Loyalist Party sits at 29 Seats so far with the Christian Democrats leading with 24 seats so far.

1800AST:

The Electoral Commission Independent Poll Stations have again released another Polling graph of the counted votes so far. As if 1800AST The Loyalist Party has taken the lead with a huge stride over the nearest two parties the Conservative People's Party and the Liberal Conservative Party which have so far 28 seats each while the Loyalist Party sits 70 seats so far. The prediction by Independent Poll Watches and the Electoral Commissions Director is that a Coalition Government will be formed with the Loyalist Party at the center.

The Electoral Commission has closed all Voting Stations as of 2330AST across the Realm and abroad at all Embassies and Consulates as well as the Secure Voting through the Government website. The final Electoral Commission Independent Poll Stations have released the final Polling Graph for the Election Day. The Loyalist Party still lead the Election with 76 seats in total with the Conservative People's Party and the Liberal Conservative Party right behind the Loyalist Party with 28 seats total each still.

The Electoral Commission plans to release all Official Electoral Results in no less than twenty-four hours from 2330AST. The Electoral Commission Director has stated that the results could be declared as early as 0600AST the following day of Election Day. Please stay tuned for any updates.

The Electoral Commission has declared that the Loyalist Party has a total of 76 Seats in total in the election. The following Election Chart is the Final and Official Results of the Election for 2022.

The Electoral Commission has also released the Electoral District and Provincial Election Map on what Parties won what District. The Independents for Ahrana were awarded 37 seats in total in this election by the Diarchs thus bringing the total of seat for this Parliament to 250.

The Diarchs have asked the leader of the Loyalist Party, Liv Bjorkman, to form a government in their name on behalf the Ahranaian People in the Realm and abroad. The Party Leader has signaled that another Coalition Government with the same previous Parties in the Government before this Election Cycle will form the Federal Government with her taking the office of Federal Chancellor again.

The Regional Parliamentary Election Results will be Officially posted on April 3, 2022 by 0800AST while the Electoral Commission continues to tally in all of these votes for the Member States that were in Election mode this Election Cycle.

Federal and Regional Elections Cycle

The Regional Member States of Xara, Elde, Uppsund, Peterburi, and Tata all have asked the members of those Regional Parliaments to run for re-election this cycle due to new regional Election Laws placing term limits on Regional Members of Parliament. Starting this term all Regional Members of Parliament in these Member States will only be allowed to serve a total six years in office for the Regional Parliaments in their respected States.

In the Regional Member States of Tatani, Ahran, Moskovo, Lockiee, and Thralhaven have placed half of their Regional Parliaments Seats for election. These Regional Parliaments either have term limits or have not commissioned legislation covering term limits for Member of Parliament in the Stats.

The Electoral Commission has calculated all results of the Regional Parliamentary Elections and the results are declared Official in terms of legality. The posting of the Official Results will be posted from Full Election to partial elections.

The Leader for the Liberal Centrist Party will occupy the Office of Prime Minister for the government of Thralhaven with the approval of the Government of Andella.

Election Cycle 2023, Snap Elections

Elections for the Office of Federal Chancellor

For the Snap Elections for the Office of Chancellor of the Union, per the next Election cycle of 2027, all Political Parties Registered for the next cycle are eligible for the Snap Elections 2023. The Gustov Method is still in use in the Assembly of Representative along with the Proportional Voting System for the remaining Seats of the Assembly.

The party with the most Seats naturally has the first say in how the Union Government, per the Office of Chancellor, is formed in conjunction with the State Councilor of the Union. This cycle the Office of State Councilor is not up for Election as the current Office holder has not tendered their resignation to the Monarch.

The Snap Elections are scheduled for the 29th of May 2023 and the ballet boxes will be closed at midnight with the results to follow soon after. All Polling Stations will be monitored by the Electoral Commission and the Federal Police Services Anti-Corruption Unit, AC-01, and any ballot stuffing or any form of corrupt voting that is found will be handled with by the Judicial system of the Union.

The Snap Cycle Elections of 2023 has begun. For over four hours now the lines at the polling stations have been full with people waiting to cast their votes for Chancellor. Per the Election Law, all workers are given an opportunity to vote during the day before the polling stations close tonight at 2100 AST. 

The first poll taken showed the Liberal Conservative Party leading with 12% of the polls taken, followed by the Loyalist Party with 10% of the current polls. These polls are of course done independently according to the election laws in place currently.

As the day has gone on the increase of percentage of polling has shown that it is possible that the Liberal Conservative Party may win this election as they are seen to be the favorite party this cycle, which will be the first time since the socialist era that the Loyalists have lost an election.

The polling stations have started to count the already casted ballots as of 1500AST with the results of the already counted ballots being 12% of the vote to the Liberal Conservative Party as according to the Polls taken earlier in the day. It is expected in a few hours that the number for that party will grow exponentially. The other party with some percentage is the Loyalist Party, Conservative Peoples' Party, the Christian Dems, the Social Dems, and the Social Liberal Party. So far, the rest of the parties on the registrar have not been registered with any votes currently.

It is now 2000AST and latest percentage of voting is near complete with over half of the ballots have been counted currently. As the current standings are as follows: Liberal Conservative Party with 30%, Loyalist Party with 2%, Conservative Peoples' Party with 8%, Christian Dems with 2%, Social Dems with 5% and the Social Liberal Party with 2% of the vote. It is expected that after poll number three, which should be released in mere minutes, the final results will be expected soon after that last polling station has closed.

As of 2300AST the last poll taken has shown that the Liberal Conservative Party has now passed the 50% threshold to form the next government. However, until the official results are finalized no winner of the election will be announced till after midnight which is not long away.

As of 0120AST the official results and winner of the 2023 Snap Election Cycle is the Liberal Conservative Party with over 60% of the vote. This party will form the next Government of the Union and will have a coalition government with the Loyalist Party, Conservative Peoples' Party, and the Christian Dems. The Social Dems and Social Liberal Party in the Assembly of Representatives will make up the Opposition of the new Government till the next General Election in 2025.

 

Final Results: The Liberal Conservative Party is the winner of the Snap Elections with the new Federal Chancellor being Kjerstin Heskin.
