Gotneska
I like to stat my wish for a possible edition of a fault line that creates a Hot spot. Or just a Hot Spot located in my nation. This of course would mean that a volcano would mostly be added if not more then one. How many greatly depends on how big said hot spot is and how big or active a volcano is. For example Yellowstone is a massive volcano 🌋 about 23 miles long and 20 miles wide something like that. And the Icelandic Hotspot which has like 5 volcanos. But they all would if they erupt make life on Eurth very hard. But to make this clear to everyone I’m NOT adding a volcano so I can make it erupt. I’m adding one because it will make my nations geography different and will also bring in greater numbers of tourists/ scientists meaning Money for my government and her people!! I will be doing some research and will post what I’d like in a later post. To make sure my neighbors know about this wish I have I will ping y’all so if any further questions or debate needs to happen we can talk. @Ulfheimr, @Aurivizh, @Ebrary 2 Link to comment

On a side note, Icelandic volcanos are erupting all the time. (Just being nerd and correcting you on the if they would erupt part.) 3 Link to comment

If the oceanic crust is going below continental crust, shit melts at the core and comes back up again. Pretty much this. Edited January 9, 2022 by Ateenia (see edit history) 2 Link to comment

Pretty much this. Oh yay, that could work but only thing is my current geography doesn’t have any mountains near the coast and the closest ones are a couple hundred miles more north!! Would that be more of a hotspot because it’s not going to be right on the plate instead farther north of the boundary! And this is before me adding a fault line. Just the current map of Eurth we have. Edited January 9, 2022 by Gotneska (see edit history) 2 Link to comment
Aurivizh
Going to be blunt here, I personally do not see the need for an additional Fault line in Eastern Argis, as it just seems reductant. That's my view on it, and I am not going to change it. 2 Link to comment
Gotneska
I understand you don’t really think a fault line should be added but that’s why I started this forum so y’all can know about what I’m wishing to change and so we can also debate about it if needed. Plus anyways if a fault is added it’s going to be completely within my nation as it seems to hard to get others to agree on something like this! 2 Link to comment
Ebrary
One wouldn't necessarily need to add a faultline to have a volcano, would you? Activity can happen within tectonic plates, like the New Madrid seismic zone. I'm not interested in anything that would alter the current tectonic plate map, but I'm not against the idea of you having a large volcano or area of seismic activity further inland if it can be justified realistically. 4 Link to comment

Yay but from what I’ve read the New Madrid Seismic Zone is very poorly understood. We don’t know why exactly it’s more active and that’s a seismic zone it doesn’t have volcanos . And I’m pretty sure that’s a fault line because you need some type of fault to create earthquakes. 2 Link to comment

Its also possible for your mountains to be a hotspot 21 hours ago, Gotneska said: Yay but from what I’ve read the New Madrid Seismic Zone is very poorly understood. Okay plus from what I learned last night is the the geography map was made before the creation of the current Tectonic plate map was created so the exact places that mountains would be sometimes don’t work with one another from my understanding. Could be wrong! And I think after talking with @Xio a hot spot probably doesn’t work. Idk Edited January 11, 2022 by Gotneska (see edit history) 2 Link to comment
Gotneska
So this doesn’t involve volcanos or creating a fault line. But what would y’all say of making a yeetland Orogeny. link is blue for the wiki. Link to comment
