Most people on this forum knows me as "that map guy", or "that country with the slavery". But since the 27th of March of this year I have been given the title of "Cartographer" equal to "RP Mentor" in the staff hierarchy as part of the general staff delegations over the past year. My role is to keep track of map placement requests, requests by current members for changes to their nations and the wider Eurth, increasing transparency between producing the map and the members of our community, and updating the map as per needed.
Orioni is still the head of cartography - as he is the only one who can update the forum's main map - but hopefully with both of us working together we can produce wurld maps at a greater rate.
Below will be a AtaQ (Assumed to-be asked Questions), a new set of guidelines that I will be following henceforth towards modifications to the map, and a backlog for the next draft.
Q: "Will you be keeping the same style of map?"
A: The map will remain with the same style and design until Orioni decides to change the style. That is outside of my jurisdiction.
Q: "Is this map still V4?"
A: Formally, yes, however I will be labelling map drafts within this thread as V5 to separate the maps made by just Orioni and the maps made by me and him, as well as to aid in formalising update numbers.
Q: "What are update numbers?"
A: 5.0.1 - the "5" at the start stands for "Version 5", the "0" represents the major map update, and the "1" is the draft numbers for that major map update. 5.0.1 is the 1st draft of the 0th map update of the 5th version. It should be stated that 5.0.1 is a non-binding proof of concept and breaks several of the new guidelines to show that I am capable of changing the map in a style similar to Orioni. For example, @Tagmatium Rules, @Cristina, and @Haruspex have not been spoken to about the movements of @Fleur de Lys (renamed Lysia) and @Social Democratic Confederation. Changes that break the guidelines will be reverted back for 5.0.2 unless the nations in that region request for those changes to remain.
Q: "Will you be doing maps now instead of RPing as Metztlitlaca?"
A: I will still be roleplaying as Metztlitlaca on the forum, like other staff this is just an addition to my work on the forum - not a substitute.
Q: "Whats with the 'thanks' reactions in map placement requests or city requests?"
A: If I find nothing wrong with a request or nothing to add to a finalised request, I may just respond with a "thanks" reaction if I am adding new nations in bulk. Generally though I will try my best to create a personalised response if I believe I have something of worth to say.
Map Placement Requests
Map placements will still require a separate thread within the Map section of the forum. Nothing has changed.
City Requests and Nation Modifications
City requests and nation modifications such as new flags will still require a dedicated thread for each nation, however the same thread can be used for different requests.
Nation Expansions & Reservations
No expansions will be given out until an expansion thread is near finished. Reserves will also only begin once the RP thread for an expansion begins. An expansion must require in-character RP unless said expansion is incredibly minor (what "minor" means will be done on a case by case scenario dependant on a region's nation density.). An expansion will be revoked after 6 months of no activity on the RP thread. If a member is caught acting in poor faith to circumvent this activity rule, they will be punished accordingly.
From henceforth from this post, any nation who has been inactive for over 183 days will have their nation undergo the process of reduction, inactivity for over 275 days will have their nation undergo the process of termination either through total removal, IP seizure, or their nation reworked into a NPC. Nations may be (but not for certain) exempt from these rulings if:
1) The member who controls the nation has given an adequate reason for inactivity
2) The member's nation provides a large part of regional or global lore to Eurth (from here it will most likely be done on a case by case situation as it has been for the past year).
3) The nation is an NPC (seems obvious but must be pointed out in case confusion by newer members).
If a member is caught acting in poor faith to circumvent this activity rule, they will be punished accordingly. More information click here
UPDATE (12th June 2021)
The Terms of a member's nation to be erased have been changed. Metacommentary posts (posts that are not RP, Factbooks, Expansion/Reserve Posts, or similar) do not count towards time since activity as metacommentary posts can be used as a loophole to unfairly extend inactivity. Also, recently graduated members that have officially been added to the map will have a 2 month time limit (60 days) before they are removed from the map again. This of course only applies if a member of the community has not made any posts to declare their inactivity (it should be stated that posts that declare inactivity for an unforeseen period of time will be disregarded if a newer member can take your place in regional lore).
Inactivity posts who's stated period of time to be inactive has passed will be given an grace period to either extend their inactivity with a second post, or return to the community and catch up on any new lore and/or events that have taken place.
This new update to the guidelines will be put into effect today (12/06/2021 D/M/Y), as a suitable warning had been posted on May 20th.

Welcome to the fact-book dossier on The Sovereign Imperium of Machina Haruspex. We hope you will find all information you would like to know about our country here, and otherwise you can always send a communique through proper channels to that of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The flag of the Haruspex is to portray what has happened and what will happen. The red shows the blood of the Haru that died protecting the Imperium. The black arrows and outline mean death of enemies that will spread like a plague. And the white outlines show the Haru spirit and honor. Another meaning for the white colors outlining the black arrows mean that the Haru are responsible for their enemies death.
First we start with a simple basic list on the country. It will continue with an overview of how our Government works. From houses to the advisory council and that of the Emperor.

Tribunal of Atonement (Supreme authority of the Tribunal is appointed by the monarch after designation by the council; all other officers of the Tribunal are appointed by the council)
The Imperium is managed due to it's size of population, a traditional government would be overrun. As such, the many wards are in themselves overseen by a minor lord of the court, usually a Duke or Baron, and in turn each ward has a district which is overseen by either a high ranking House Minor Lord which is usually equivalent to a Count or a senior military officer.
Each Ward comprises ten districts, and generally a city state has ten wards. While the city thus looks whole it is actually split into individual sections with each adding to the flow with their own agencies all working as one for the appearance and function of one entity.
(Districts are numbered after specific ward, so if one were to visit. Their family or friend would say, I live in Chel de'Yorn Ward Hattusa, District 9 and then a numbered address within.)

Disputes - international:
The sovereignty dispute over the lands of Zharr, Ishakor, and the Midlands known in the Imperium as the "Western Territories" and in the Occident known as " Marmakite Territories," occupied by the nomadic tribes in 1980, now administered by independent factions and claimed by Machina Harusepx, remains the primary sticking point to signing a peace treaty formally ending hostilities; Machina Haruspex's unilaterally declared exclusive economic zone in the Ranke Sea, the site of intensive hydrocarbon prospecting.
There are few things more important in Aurelia, both politically and otherwise, than the railroad. An essential tool of transportation for the continent's millions of inhabitants, it holds a uniquely pivotal role. While elsewhere, the slow establishment of freeways and the dominance of the personal automobile have long eclipsed trains, Aurelia is different. Its nature as a land of civilized areas separated by vast seas of disorganized frontier, oftentimes the possession of myriad tribes or insurgencies, alongside downright oppressive weather conditions, render cars ghastly inefficient. What's more, since the days of the Shffahkian Empire, the vast pre-existing network of railroads criss-crossing Aurelia, the best developed on Eurth for their time, were too central to all continental infrastructure to replace. Thus, a combination of necessity, lethargy, and reactionary tendency has created a state of train primacy, for better or worse. Certainly, carbon emissions are low, but maintaining and protecting the railroads as well as manipulating tribal politics to create a series of dependent so-called railroad states has long been an ulcer on the finances of the civilized states of Aurelia, especially Kirvina and Shffahkia, who as the two first-adopters of the technology also have the largest corporate stake (and the most to lose in the event of mass banditry).
Often quite comical to foreign travelers who enter the region for the first time, and a good tone-setter for the continent, are Aurelian railroad maps. Pockmarked with green, yellow and red ticks indicating the safety of different routes and the chance of encountering a piratical assault on your journey through them, as well as with different track symbols for when one must board an armored train, or dark X's marking branch routes which have been shut down due to ongoing military operations, they paint a poverty-stricken, violent, and dystopian picture. That said, to the average Aurelian, the system is anything but. As a simple reality of life that in truth yields few to no casualties, mostly being a trouble for politicians, corporations, and the nobility, the prevailing opinion in Kirvina is that such things simply must be dealt with, as they have always been dealt with, and that there is nothing abnormal about them. In fact, Pan-Aurelian politicians throughout the continent's history have harped on the railroad system as an example of continental unity and brotherhood, conveniently ignoring the millions of disadvantaged native peoples subjected to economic destitution through the unnatural propping up of banana republics, or on Eurth railroad states, that can barely be called countries. So it is that under the auspices of "unity" and "brotherhood", a young Shffahkian politician by the name of Marcel journeyed to seek the patronage of a Duchess Chrysanthe of Taurapetra in expanding one of the many sub-routes of the Trans-Aurelian Railway, one which tunnels through the Paranne Mountains and into an oft overlooked sector of Shffahkia.
While perhaps Marcel could have hoped to secure money from the central government, or from the reigning Grand Duke Liuvros of Achilleia, it was clear through his corporate liaisons that all the funds of these regions were already tied up with a stout increase in banditry, as well as deploying various arms of the nation's light infantry special operations force (the Rangers, Tasanthai plural, Tasanthes singular) as well as its regulars in the area (the Border Guard, Acranthai plural, Acranthes singular) to deal with an unnerving increase in partnerships between hostile tribes. While the situation around the railroads themselves was more stable than it had been in quite a long time, this was due to an unsustainable policy of promoting the welfare of the citizens of the railroad states, at the expense of the next layer of surrounding federations, which was creating more enemies the longer it dragged on. Tribes which had gone over a century without any Kirvinsét or Shffahkian meddling were now suddenly introduced to the front line of guntrain diplomacy, with not a one happy about the notion. Chrysanthe, though the possessor of a modest fortune and a cadre of family-loyal mercenaries and quasi-feudal bannermen hailing from the district she ruled over which functioned as a portion of the federal army in all but name, had committed little to nothing to the railroad-effort, calling it "a damnable waste of time" and "an endless cycle of vapid paternalism best left to foolish men with deep pockets." Despite her raging antipathy, as the only noble or bureaucrat in the entire country who was not already committed to something, she was the only one who could be approached for this route.
With these thoughts in mind, Marcel emerged from the train taking him into Taurapetra, smoothing down his suit. Having foregone a diplomatic escort, choosing instead to travel incognito, he took the quickest route through the old quarter of the ancient city towards the diplomatic offices and ruler's compound, standing under the small umbrella he had bought at the train station and doing his best to avoid the bad weather. It was geographically arranged in a way that the highest section of the city, whereupon sat his destination, was always held in view, and that no matter how he pivoted across the stone boulevards, it was always visible somewhere at the corner of his eye. Likely a tool wielded in the medieval era to inspire lofty grandeur on the part of the city-state's rulers, he mused, crossing under the alcoves which would take him to his scheduled meeting after around thirty minutes of walking. Saluted by a pair of guards, he snapped his umbrella closed and passed it off to a waiting valet, fashionably two to three minutes late in normal Shffahkian fashion. Once, twice, he rolled out each shoulder, flattening his breathing, and then crossed into the door. Sat across the room, waiting at the other side of an oaken table, was the Duchess he was hoping to meet. Gesturing for him to sit, she took his measure with an imperious, self-assured expression, dark brown eyes boring a hole through his face and out the back of his head. "We are most pleased to receive you," she said with an expression that spoke more of murderous intent than pleasure, " and hope that your journey has not been too taxing. Please. Speak of your purpose in journeying to the other end of the continent, that it might be heard and known." Despite her decorum, she struck a rather militaristic figure, with short-cropped light hair and clothing close in style to an army officer's parade jacket.
