Request: Flag and Name Change

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm completely changing Tagmatium's name and flag! Again!

No, not really.

Just a bit of a minor tweak.

This is been something I've been meaning to ask for quite a long time. It is more window-dressing than anything that will have any meaningful impact on anything in terms of RP.

Basically, the island with the city Glevokastron is a nominally independent protectorate of Tagmatium, although in reality it is all but an integral part of the Greater Holy Empire, lying as it does so close to both myself and @Haruspex. It's got a significant Tagmatine military presence in the form of military bases, and it plays a role as a lynchpin in the defensive plans of my nation.

In line with other people's colonies and client states, could I have the name "Akwisia (Tag.)" added to it, as that's the name of the country. Ideally, the name "Brandhaefen" would be added in brackets under "Glevokastron", as the former is the native name for the city. I respect the fact that there might not be enough room for this without things being a bit squashed.

As well as this, could the following flag be added? This flag would replace the Tagmatine one.

Thanks a lot!

No hurry on this, mind. It doesn't affect anything RP-wise.

@Tagmatium Rules — Will do. This shouldn't take too much time to change. If I understand correctly, you want to:

  1. "Akwisia (Tag.)" because a client state.
  2. With "Glevokastron (Brandhaefen)" as the capital city.
  3. And carry the different flag you linked to.

I'll also coordinate with co-cartographer @Metztlitlaca so this change remains synced.

Yep, that's completely correct.

I realise now looking at that image the blue of the flag might merge with that of the sea. If need be, the colour can be tweaked but the black border the flags have might mean that that is unncessary.

Thanks, though!

No worries. All flags automagically have a black border to provide contrast. That little features goes back a long long time.

Same for the text. It has a thin white stroke all around to show contrast in case there is a border or river behind it.

Neither of these are meant to be seen. But you do notice it if the stroke is disabled.

Nation in Eurth: Free City of Ekar
      Flag:
      Capital name: Ekar
      Capital location: Coastal (city-state)
      Stats Chosen:
      Population: 58,730 (Low)
GDP: $44,270 p/capita nominal (Very High)
      Land Area: 50 km2 (Low)
      Factbook/iiwiki link: IIWiki (currently sandbox)
Culture: Heavily influenced by Arabic (especially Levantine) cultures around the eastern Mediterranean.
Climate: Dry, hot summers and cool winters (Köppen climate classification Csa, or a hot-summer Mediterranean climate).
History: A formerly important port in antiquity, Ekar has been annexed, occupied, and a tributary of numerous regional powers and empires throughout it's long history. This has left a diverse and multi-religious city-state in its wake.
Desired Location: No specific desired location, although it seems a spot in Memopotamia would make by far the most sense.

Keep in mind that I’m flexible with like all of this so if some things aren’t available or aren’t exactly as specified in the application I’m glad to accommodate

      Nation in Eurth: Utogo
      Flag:

      Capital name: Buokagio
Capital location: On the northern coast; Wodaa is also coastal and Bogimé is on a river in the north. Another fairly large city exists in central Utogo, Wawisoimpi, which would preferably be on a river in that area, but again I am happy to accommodate
      Stats Chosen: Pop 2 - GDP/C 0 - Area 2
Factbook/iiwiki link: In lieu of a (forthcoming) factbook, I present to you my vision statement
Culture: Utogoan areal cultures are a mixture of Papuan (areal, of course) and West African (also areal, of course) inspirations. I don’t have many specifics at the moment (they are also forthcoming), so if you were a real stickler about cultural areas you could really put me near either of those given they exist on the map.
Climate: Tropical monsoon (Am) or tropical rainforest (Aw) in the south, transitioning into tropical savanna (Af) as you go north (near the center), and subtropical dry forest/miombo (BSh) in the north. Basically, hot and mostly wet. I imagine a fair amount of rivers and mountains as well, but those don’t matter to me as much as the general climate.
History: I’ll keep it very brief and adapt it from my vision statement -  First settled approximately 14,000 years ago by Pre-Proto-Utogoan-speaking peoples practicing agriculture and village settlement; territory of present-day Utogo was also likely contacted by other groups in her area; antiquity consisted mostly of trade networks and wars between several Utogoan-speaking ethnic confederations; colonized by a foreign power at some point.
      Desired Location: Surprise me

Hello again, i would like to request an update to my topography. I have taken some inspiration from the western canadian coast in wurldbuilding my culture so i think having a 'rocky coast' might help with the realism of some things, so i've decided on pushing my hight to the sea in the region pictured below, with the red (50-500m) color going to the coast (the map i drew has it neer the coast, but it like the bigger red spot to reach the coast itself, while the smaller one, to the east, be more back, like in the map), the blue (500-2000m) color is also pulled towards the coast a bit. Thanks in advanced!
Map (note: please dont mind that sploch of greenish-blue, i messed upand forgot that area was part of the river delta):

Here are some pictures of what i generally want that region to resemble:
