[Request] Anatea Update

Recommended Posts

I hope this topic is in the right section .-.
Aaaanyway, here i am again for asking to our beloved and powerful @Orioni if would be possible to add some cities to my nation on Eurth's map and, about the last update, add some NPC nations that i need for the lore of Anatea :D
About the map for the city & the NPC nations here you go:

spacer.png

If you need to read better the names of the cities here you go a detailed map of Anatea where you can read better the names in case of problems :D About the NPC nations here's the explanation for why they're here:

  • Astarlia: this nation was part of Anatea in the Classical & Post-Classical Era, becoming indipendent after a civil war in 1014. From that year on the relations between the two nations were quite hostile, but after some time they began to become more friendly until they signed a defensive pact for themselves, helping each other in any possible way. The relation between them would be similiar to the one between UK and USA.
  • Ex Ruthenian nations (New Ruthenia, Casma, Lybadev and Pyrr): once part of the Federal Republic of Ruthenia (really similiar to Yugoslavia), after the Dalstavian War they become indipendent, changing their type of government after years under a bloody dictatorship. They are an important part of Anatea's lore due to the fact that the ruthenian invasions in the Classical & Post-Classical Era conquered Ruthenia and the Dalstavia region (once part of Anatea in the same Age), also the Dalstavian War is an important part of the history of Anatea because it will begin the subplot of Anatea about who was really behind the entire conflict (hinted in "In the Shadow" chapter) and the beginning of Anatea being a not isolationist nation anymore.
  • Azuria: once part of Anatea in the Classical & Post-Classical Era, it will become indipendent (WIP about why & when) and later on an hostile nation towards Anatea & Astarlia, triggering the defensive pact that the two nations have (WIP about why & when). Before the end of 2021, a war between Anatea & Astarlia VS Azuria will break out, resulting in the invasion of the nation and then in its splitting (showed in the map) and annexation (similiar to what happened to Germany after WW2).
  • Illirea: even this nation was part of Anatea in the Classical & Post-Classical Era, but then it was conquered by Zastov in the 1600s. Later on will become indipendent by Zastov togheter with Yustov and it will be peacefully annexed by Anatea for protection with the upcoming tensions between Anatea and Zastov and for return to be one thing with Anatea.
  • Zastov: a really important nation for the lore of Anatea. It's a far-right nation masked as a democracy. It will be involved in various part of Anatea's lore, beginning with a war in the 1600s which will take Illirea from Anatea, and then it will fight once again Anatea in the "Ruthenian War" in 1860 [Ruthenian War= Zastov, being landlocked, tried to attack and conquer Ruthenia (the weakest nation in the region) for have an outlet to the sea for commercial reasons, but a coalition composed by Anatea, Ruthenia, Astarlia and Erastia will prevent Zastov to reach the sea, protecting Ruthenia and winning the war (similiar to the Crimean War)]. In the modern age it will become a rival of Anatea after the fall of Azuria and there will be some tensions, just to create some interesting rps in the future.
  • Erastia: a kingdom in the southern part of Aurelia. It will be involved in the "Ruthenian War" along with Anatea and will have some peaceful relations with Anatea.
  • Yustov: once part of Zastov, it will become independent and then will be annexed peacefully by Anatea for protection against Zastov.
  • Ostav: an island Union, it will become important in the modern age with the "Clear War" (1923-1925), the first war in which Anatea will use airplanes and will understand the importance of air superiority. This war is important because it's the first war in the South Aurelian region in which no civilians were harmed (because the conflict was fought primarily in the sea, and with the sole use of aircrafts and ships).
  • Nostromm: Not important, just a name that would fit to the nation
  • Taygene: important nation in the lore of Anatea because it had an alliance with it. It will be the main trigger for the "Clear War", without fighting in the war.

The end!
The blueish color on Anatea and in some nations is the maximum extension of Anatea in the future rps, just to warn how much i want to expand Anatea (i will post the expansion ideas in the future and after i contributed to the region of course) and which NPC nations will be involved (probably around 2025/2026 the expansion would be completed :O).

Thank you for reading!

Have you and @Shffahkia talked about the tweaks to the NPC nations?

I'm not for or against either way, but they were the original one to talk about naming these, as a part of a historical empire. Can the two of you come to some agreement about this?

I think they've been responding to pings on Discord, and it may be worth messaging them on the forum here.

Equally, and I realise that adding someone else to this may end up slowing things down, but @Kirvina is worth a shot, too. Whilst they've not been greatly active, they did express an interest in getting more active a few days ago. Their help in fleshing out NPCs in this part of Aurelia may be useful :)

It's fine :)

Both of them have been active on Discord in the last few days, although I don't think they've been active on the forum in that time.

@Anatea Okday, will add these new cities in the next update, marking this topic as #todo.

The NPC's in Aurelia do take up a lot of space. This a was a trial. Given the excellent feedback shared in another topic, it seems to be a good idea to limit the number of NPC's and try a different approach.

@Anatea Meanwhile I've gone and added all the additional cities.

I do have a small question about the red-text areas (1-4) and those with grey background (Azuria, Illirea, Yustov). Should these be marked as  your "reservation" for future expansion?

Right now I'm not adding this as NPC until confirmed.

I feel like some of this has likely changed due to the fact that we have talked about NPCs as a whole in Team Aurelia. I would have to get some clarification on it but I imagine that it looks somewhat similar as far as what Anatea has mapped out.

Heyyyy, here i am :D
As Oyus said, we talked about them in Team Aurelia and in the end we decided those NPCs to add for my lore, such as Azuria, Illirea, Yustov and the four ex-Ruthenian states :D technically there should be even Zastov but is still a WIP, so for now we're still technically deciding even the name or other stuff ^^

And also thank you for adding the cities! :D

(the image is Metz's last map about our super big reunion with the confirmed npc nations & other stuff :D)

Great. Thanks for the quick reply. In that case I think it's best to leave out these NPC's you added, and wait until Team Aurelia has a final proposal ready. I'm sure it's already being discussed in another topic.

Hello there, I know it is highly uncommon for a relatively new person which has done so far only few things for Eurth to ask for a NPC nation to be station on their border, yet here I am.
(note, the north-western and easternmost boundaries should align to the rivers, I found only a pixelated jpeg version, so the drawing there is approximate)
I would like to ask for this nation to be formed south-west from me, being named "Dazhdinia" in Anglish and "Daẑinıja"/"Даҗіния" in Dazhdin (a slavic conlang I am working on which relies on nasal vowels and yats). The general idea of the country is to be a general eastern european counterpart for my roleplay, having the general history of a authoritiarian takeover of the country in 1920's, which resulted in a conflict with @Walneria which ran concurrently with the Stedorian-Walnerian war and ended up with a defeat and an economical collapse of the right-wing authoritarian government and a communist revolution in late 40's or early 50's. Then, the nation might've aligned itself closer to other socialist nations in the region, most notably @DPR Velaheria and @Stedoria. In late 80's or very early 90's, a peaceful revolution was crushed by a military action and the new regime has displayed extremely authoritarian tendencies, which in turn caused it to lose ground and succumb to the second, violent, revolution in 1998. Eversince then, the nation has greately recovered from the economical desparity it faced back then, but it also has a long way to go.
The general idea for a nation is a counterpart to the past and current countries of the former socialist bloc, most notably Yugoslavia, Poland, Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union. At the present day, I envision the nation as a federation of five countries. Three of them, Posąvragia (capital in Gromųva, which is also the federal capital), Kozlųka (which is the ethnically deverse half-Posąvrag half-Syranik heart of the nation, similar to Bosnia) and Syranika (capital in Jilinsk) are Dazhdin (similar to Serbo-Croat, there would be some rather tense discussions on wether Dazhdin is a single language with Posąvragian and Syranik literary forms or if it is a language family consisting of Posąvragian and Syranik), while the other two are of different ethnicities. I envision Ljukrina (capital in Brěgava) to be a rather multi-cultural region with many Ustokans (Czechs) and Maleniks (Sorbs) living in the area, maybe with a possible Dolch (German) language offshoot and some Slovak population. And finally, there is the Jalivia (capital in Kolikovo), which is the westernmost part of the nation. I want to leave that one's history open to potential people which come to settle next to it, but in general, it is probably the most different region of them all and possibly has a rich history of secessionism.

The flag itself presents the diverse nature of the nation: the blue stripe stands for the Posąvrag eagle, while the green stripe stands for the traditional green Syranik shield, which features a fleur-de-lis (both or and argent were used). The white in between is often interpreted as the "middle road", but it is rather more likely that it was simply a tincture used in both of the coats of arms. The wreath is possibly the most controversial part of the flag, because it may ring the bell of the blood that was spilled in the name of socialism, but in this case, it stands for the general fame that Dazhdinia is bound to achieve if it just tries to reach it.
Out-of-character, it would provide Walneria with a semi-direct sea access and would pose an interesting dilemma in Walnerian politics - Do we align with a struggling democratic slavic nation over a highly organized germanic brother? Do we need to align at all? - With those things and many more, such as the idea of multiple Dazhdinia-Walneria interractions, I would really love to have that nation added.
The general displacement of points on the stats are: 2 for economy, 1 for area and 1 for population
If there is anything I neglected to mention, please be sure to remind me over it!
      Sincerely, @Walneria
    • By Ekar
Nation in Eurth: Free City of Ekar
      Flag:
      Capital name: Ekar
      Capital location: Coastal (city-state)
      Stats Chosen:
      Population: 58,730 (Low)
GDP: $44,270 p/capita nominal (Very High)
      Land Area: 50 km2 (Low)
      Factbook/iiwiki link: IIWiki (currently sandbox)
Culture: Heavily influenced by Arabic (especially Levantine) cultures around the eastern Mediterranean.
Climate: Dry, hot summers and cool winters (Köppen climate classification Csa, or a hot-summer Mediterranean climate).
History: A formerly important port in antiquity, Ekar has been annexed, occupied, and a tributary of numerous regional powers and empires throughout it's long history. This has left a diverse and multi-religious city-state in its wake.
Desired Location: No specific desired location, although it seems a spot in Memopotamia would make by far the most sense.

Keep in mind that I’m flexible with like all of this so if some things aren’t available or aren’t exactly as specified in the application I’m glad to accommodate

      Nation in Eurth: Utogo
      Flag:

      Capital name: Buokagio
Capital location: On the northern coast; Wodaa is also coastal and Bogimé is on a river in the north. Another fairly large city exists in central Utogo, Wawisoimpi, which would preferably be on a river in that area, but again I am happy to accommodate
      Stats Chosen: Pop 2 - GDP/C 0 - Area 2
Factbook/iiwiki link: In lieu of a (forthcoming) factbook, I present to you my vision statement
Culture: Utogoan areal cultures are a mixture of Papuan (areal, of course) and West African (also areal, of course) inspirations. I don’t have many specifics at the moment (they are also forthcoming), so if you were a real stickler about cultural areas you could really put me near either of those given they exist on the map.
Climate: Tropical monsoon (Am) or tropical rainforest (Aw) in the south, transitioning into tropical savanna (Af) as you go north (near the center), and subtropical dry forest/miombo (BSh) in the north. Basically, hot and mostly wet. I imagine a fair amount of rivers and mountains as well, but those don’t matter to me as much as the general climate.
History: I’ll keep it very brief and adapt it from my vision statement -  First settled approximately 14,000 years ago by Pre-Proto-Utogoan-speaking peoples practicing agriculture and village settlement; territory of present-day Utogo was also likely contacted by other groups in her area; antiquity consisted mostly of trade networks and wars between several Utogoan-speaking ethnic confederations; colonized by a foreign power at some point.
      Desired Location: Surprise me
