Nation in Eurth: Federation of Anatea

Capital name: Solisea
Capital location: North-east Anatea (see "Location" :D)

Newsroom link: not created yet, but i have an old one here :D

Culture: Anatean, is a sort of italian alike culture mixed with some anglo-saxon elements, like some words and names. (the anglo-saxon part would have been originated by Seylos)
Climate: Anatea could have a mediterranean climate on the east coast, with maybe (if possible) a little desert on the eastern part of the island. In the inland the climate would slowly get more temperate, especially on the west coast. The climate on the east coast/south islands is dry and sunny, while in the middle of the island is still sunny, even if it could change to rainy. On the eastern coast is sunny too but could easily turn in rainy for the fact that the eastern coast is super close to the mainland, which have a cold climate.
Location: Here if possible :D

History: I'm still trying to figure out the history of the nation, but Anatea could have originated from a migrant wave/ colonization of the island by Cristina during the 16th century. (for justify an italian alike nation in the middle of two german and british alike nations) The only info i'm sure about is that Anatea in 1870 became a Republic with a referendum, after sawing that the king of that epoch was slowly turning the nation in an absolute monarchy. Still despite becaming a republic the royal family was always mantained until now. In Summer 2019 Anatea went through a war with Ruthenia, a nation close to Anatea's borders, after the island of Delstev declared its independence and tried to join Anatea (in the first part of this post you'll find the precise reason). Shortly after the war Anatea went through a lot of reforms for recover from the war, transforming itself in a Federation for give more autonomy to the regions and be able to still centralize the nation with infrastructures and reforms (other than satisfy the request from some regions to have their own autonomy).

Nation Name: Anatea
Population: [MEDIUM] 34.230.970
GDP per capita: [HIGH] 29,000 ₳
Area: [MEDIUM] i have still to calculate it, i used Seylos as reference ^^"

My only "issues" would be that Cristina did it's colonisation of Alharu/Argis in the 1480-1510. I don't necessarily know where Ruthenia would be as Ceris (island west of Seylos) is already developed lore-wise (check "Doom of Ceris"). Other then that I don't see too many other issues, although you will need to speak to Seylos (and possibly Limonaia(?)).

Metz raises a couple good points.  I’d also like to state that Italian culture doesn’t really... fit there.  Seylos is Anglo-Celtic while Derthalen is German.  The other Italian state (not on Europa) is Limonaia in northern Alharu, which to me makes more cultural sense.  Western Argis and northern Alharu are largely Western European culturally.

From the way you said it, Anglo-Saxon doesn’t seem too important for your nation.  Correct me if I’m wrong though!

Oh, that would be oke too x'D i have still to discuss to Cristina about this thing but would be great even for those years :D it was the fact that i don't know everyone's history, sorry ^^"

Oh, my fault that i didn't specify that ^^" should be HERE, togheter with delstev island, where the war happened :D but after the war Ruthenia was just divided in little mini-states (like happened with Yugoslavia) just to avoid to occupy a territory with an NPC nation or avoid to leave an history trail from which every nation in that area should adapt its lore ^^

Yeah, seems a bit weird but before that location i asked to Iverica just for be sure about where to settle and make the first posts ^^ that place would perfectly justify my nation fact of not liking religions (Seylos) without having to write on my history to have had a dictatorship or a sort of catholic church with inquisitors etc (just to avoid unoriginal things that most italian alike nations write on their histories xD), other than having some anglo-saxon elements in my culture, that is kinda vital for having some different names and other things for make my culture unique :D also i reaaaaaaaally like that spot, it's super perfect for me ç_ç (yeah, i'm a location paranoid x'D i need to face a big ocean, have a temperate/mediterranean climate and be kinda around the middle of the map ( it's complicated to explain x''D)

I don't think anyone has discussed or mentioned this so I figured before we get too far as you show great promise that I'd recommend you look at the Eurth Balance Sheet for creating a nation.

Oh that document was the first thing i read when i joined and i put it in practice here, but still thanks! :D

Definitely, the island isn't too far out, considering Galahinda and Alenveil.

Influence wanes over distance, true enough. But then again, we have colonies like the Philippines and Australia that are in regions quite a bit more alien to their colonising country's influence.

Anyway, I'll leave it up to Anatea and the cartographer.

Additionally, some points Tagmatium relays:

Hi @Anatea. I'll write up a short reply before heading to the restaurant for my one-year anniversary.

  • Climate. You mentioned "mediterranean climate [...] with maybe a little desert". Since I'm not exactly sure where this would go with the climate update, I'm tagging @Metztlitlaca and @Heiheguo for advice.
  • Culture. Several people have correctly pointed out that the !Italian area is more to the east. Anything where Limonaia could have been. Especially where this meets Central Argis. The island north of @Seylos could work if you can agree to have more Anglo-Saxon (Buranian) influence than Greco-Latin (Aroman). That big island along measures 250.000 km^2.

3 potential locations:

  1. The culture would fit somewhere along the sea between Argis and Alharu. The screenshots @Iverica shared with @Tagmatium Rules's drawings make sense. Plenty of competitive neighbours around.
  2. If an island-location is a must, there's the option of replacing @Valaciahttps://iiwiki.us/wiki/Valacia Unfortunately they left us for another region little under a year ago. https://www.nationstates.net/nation=valacia Those 4 eastern islands measure about 33.700km^2. The island west of it is another 23.500 km^2, currently unclaimed nor reserved as expansion. Nice strategic location. For the desert you could later expand into a coastal area in Alharu.
  3. Something more out of the box could be East Argis, closer to Alenveil. That theatre of operation is quite interesting. I'm sure the North Adlantic states would be very happy to welcome a new neighbour.

I dunno, i don't like those places, i super like the island i've chosen :c also i chose Cristina cause i know she's super active, infact she told me that i could be one of her past colonies :D

Being a colony of Cristina is good :) no one's against you on that front.  Just seems to me it'd make sense for you to be nearer to Lim, who as I write this has now shown some signs of life on Discord.  Do not take this to mean that we are saying you can't be there (although that's up to O and not some lowly mentor) but it's certainly something to think about.  And if you've already thought about it and don't like those places and like the island you picked, then we've gotten to a point where we need O's almighty judgement, Y/N.

Super thank you and sorry for being such a blockhead with the locations ç__ç

Just my unsolicited two cents, The island you're looking at doesn't really have a Mediterranean climate zone, as well as the fact that you're next to derthalen, seylos, and Myself, would severely limit any and all expansions you'd be planning in the future.

I mean with that slab of an island, it would be difficult to see needing any 😂

I believe the island would have some or be completely Mediterranean per the most recent climate map update I found.

After being desperate enough, i change the location for my nation to here if possible:

( please don't tell me no, i just want to start to rp ç__ç )

I quite like this location, it does give you plenty of room to expand since you've mentioned wanting to. I like the overall shape, and as long as you're happy with the climate I have no grievances. My only "concern" is a lack of neighbors, you do lose out on some interesting RP options regarding your history, but it shouldn't be a problem in present day.

in realty i was oke to be just an island and also i preferred the other location cause there were even good and interesting rps, but everyone told me that i can't stay there so i have to rely on plan B and stay isolated from everyone else in the south.

Just want to say this because we've all been piling on you: our suggestions are just that: suggestions.  If Seylos doesn't mind you being on that island, than go ahead and be on that island (even if an Italian nation might be better somewhere else :P).  At the end of the day, O decides, so I recommend having multiple options to submit - not required, but you might be shot down.

@Anatea I'm alright with this spot in Aurelia, seeing as @Shffahkia also has some Lysian/Cristinese ties. I hadn't considered the area since it so far away. And you can keep Oyus company. Play navy games with Gallambria. Get involved with the southern continent.

I'll go ahead and measure the areas so it's not too big. The peninsula is only 120.000 km2. Medium area = 210.000-250.000 km2. So you can add another 90-130K.

Would you like the coast to bend north or south?
