Tagmatium Rules Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 * Most Secret, for the eyes of King Aidan I only* To: His Majesty, King Aidan I of @Seylos, Eire, Pleinmont, and Sark From: the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomaion Your Royal Highness, It is felt by the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion that our nations have demonstrated a good ability to work together, as shown by the Aluxian Civil War and the recent crisis in the Makhaira Thalassa (the Dolch See). The Kingdom of Seylos is a stabilising influence in eastern Argis, and one that Ahromaneia is keen to support. Your nation has stood as a bastion against the influence of your north eastern neighbour, which, despite its recent silence, will likely remain a threat to civilised nations for years to come. In light of this threat, and that eastern Argis seems to be, by steps, becoming ever more fractious, the Megas Agios Basileia comes to your government with a proposal. Some years ago, the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion purchased a pair of aircraft carriers from the Greater Queendom of @Suverina. The circumstances surrounding this purchase was that Arhomaneia and Suverina had had a deterioration of relations, after starting the development of these carriers as a joint project. It resulted in my nation being forced out of this project, with no reimbursement of costs incurred. Later on, relations between our nations improved and the Megas Agios Basileia was invited to purchase two carriers at a reduced cost. At the time, it was considered to be an offer too good to pass up. The Prince Michail II carriers were classed as the Despotes class when purchased by Arhomaneia. However, they have proved to be surplus to requirements. With the Grand Federated Imperium of @Adaptus, Arhomaneia had co-developed the Protathlites tou Khristou class aircraft carrier and the Despotes class never became part of the Basilikoploimon. The two vessels have therefore remained mothballed since then, although every effort is taken so that it would take little to make them operational once again. In light of our good relations and the sterling effort Seylos makes in keeping eastern Argis from descending into anarchy, I have been charged by his Imperial Majesty, Kommodos III, by the Grace of Christ the God, Agios Basileos kai Autokrator ton Arhomaioi, to offer the Despotes class to the Kingdom of Seylos. If you are willing to consider this, I am to invite your majesty to dispatch a delegation to inspect the Despotes class ships, in order to see if one or the both of them are to your nation's liking. Then our governments can discuss a price that is fair and equitable to both. May Seylos continue to be a beacon of light in a dark wurld. Seylos Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 *Classified Secret* TO: The Megas Logothetes of the Logothesion ton Stratiotikou of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomanion @Tagmatium Rules FROM: King Aidan of the Kingdom of Seylos Our nation for some time has felt the internal pressures of our region, and the certain foreign powers which are attempting to exert far more control over other nations than we are comfortable with. While Seylos's navy has never been stronger, we now see that this naval might must expand further to show the world that we are not to be trifled with and to defend our interests and the interests of our allies abroad. The HMS Defiant has served with distinction as the fleet's flaghship over this past year, however it cannot be in two places at once and there are maters across the globe that require a strong Seylosian naval presence. Most recently is disturbing reports from our sister island to the west of piracy and rampant civil distress. If there is ever a time for Seylos to begin to expand its stabilizing influence, it is now. An additional carrier at our disposal would allow Seylos to more effectively project its power over the region. We whole heartedly accept the invitation of your country to send out naval inspectors to the ships in question. Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives from the Royal Navy will be contact with your own representatives soon. 7
Tagmatium Rules Posted January 3, 2020 Author Posted January 3, 2020 * Most Secret, for the eyes of King Aidan I only* To: His Majesty, King Aidan I of @Seylos, Eire, Pleinmont, and Sark From: the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomaion Your Royal Highness, I thank you for your reply. It may have come to your notice, through rumours or from the ill-informed, that there are other buyers for the Despotes class. Whilst I must remain close-lipped about the precise details of other parties interested in purchasing the second vessel, I can confirm that the Republic of Iverica is certainly not in talks with the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion about buying both, or any, of those vessels. Your Kingdom is still free to purchase one of the aircraft carriers, if you so wish. It would certainly be welcomed by Arhomaneia, and not just because of the fact that your nation would be buying quite an expensive ship from us. A second carrier operated by your Royal Navy would be a boon to our continued joint operations in the Makhaira Thalassa, also known as the Dolch See or the Dagger Sea. It would also undoubtedly help Seylos spread a civilising influence beyond just the seas that surround your nation. The Megas Agios Basileia welcomes the arrive of your inspectors. It will allow your navy to take a good look at what you are potentially purchasing and familiarise themselves with the different technology and systems installed by the Suberiniki builders. Certainly, it would also be an opportunity for our militaries to build stronger bonds. Faith in God, of course, is the only guarantee of true strength, Honorios Kontarian, Megas Logothetes of the Logothesion tou Stratiotikou of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomaion 2
Seylos Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 *Classified Secret* TO: The Megas Logothetes of the Logothesion ton Stratiotikou of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomanion @Tagmatium Rules FROM: King Aidan of the Kingdom of Seylos Our inspectors after deliberation have felt satisfied with the vessel presented. While the equipment must be stripped to bring up to Seylosian standards, the hull of the vessel is superb. The ship will be brought back to Norfolk for extensive overhauling procedures. The Naval Procurement Office will be in direct contact with your government to begin the process of transferring ownership from Tagmatium to Seylos. As an additional note Seylos is delighted that such a valued allied is willing to commit to such an exchange with Seylos for the continued prosperity and security of not only our island but the vast seas around her. We can only hope such and exchange will continue to strengthen the ties between our two nations. 5
Tagmatium Rules Posted May 15, 2020 Author Posted May 15, 2020 * Most Secret, for the eyes of King Aidan I only* To: His Majesty, King Aidan I of @Seylos, Eire, Pleinmont, and Sark From: the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomaion Your Royal Highness, The Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion is glad that you are satisfied with the aircraft carrier. Obviously, much work will have to go into it in order for it to be operational but I do not doubt that your staff are aware of it. If need be, in order to facilitate the vessel being brought into an active state more rapidly, I can get crews from the Basilikoploimon to carry out the preliminary overhauling whilst the ship is in transit to your nation. Whilst this would be an expensive and potentially difficult activity to carry out whilst at sea, it would mean that the Despotes class ship will be able to join the Royal Navy all the quicker. I cannot guess as to what task you might put the vessel to, however I can surmise that it is in both of our nations' interests to see it active in the Makhaira Thalassa (the Dolch See) as soon as possible. If need be, I can offer aircraft to outfit the vessel, too. The Basilikoploimon has been undergoing a modernisation programme for its carrier-borne aircraft over the last few years. I could suggest that your navy purchases some of the older aircraft in order to expand your carrier air wing quickly, although I do realise that these aircraft will be not the same as the ones that you current operate. Equally, there are the newer aircraft that Arhomaneia is introducing to its own carrier air wing but, again, these would be non-standard to the rest of your nation's aircraft. It is hoped by His Aroman Majesty, Kommodos III, by the Grace of Christ the God, and the Arhomaiki people that this will help cement the alliance between our nations. It has been a force for good in the wurld so far and it would please God for that to continue. May God guide us and keep our peoples safe, Honorios Kontarian, Megas Logothetes of the Logothesion tou Stratiotikou of the Megas Agios Basileia ton Arhomaion 5
