From there it will then leave the commercial route, heading towards international waters, avoiding the refugee columns, and curving about towards its destination, the coast of Ttoile. 

This missive comes as the fleet is being readied but is sixty hours from actual deployment so as to allow our esteemed neighbors a heads up if you will, so that the sight of dozens of Imperial vessels does not escalate into something we both would regret.

There will be an Imperial Naval presence, however I am informed that it shall be a blue water, litoral one, and that most Imperial Naval presence shall be conducted by patrol craft in and around the rigs themselves. There are five in total to be built, and the means and construction elements will be enroute within three months. 

The vessels in question are civilian in nature and operation. The rigs fall under the territorial waters of the northern territories, but notifying our southern neighbor in lieu of what has been a rather chaotic relationship, is the best course of action.

Despite this distance, Acadia and Arhomaion have much in common. Our nations both have a shared faith, even if it differs in the details, one that guides our actions and our thoughts. This faith means that we have an understanding between each other, one that is not shared by the heathen nations that surround both of our countries. We both act as shining examples of culture and values in a morass of uncultured tribes and we are both willing to help our neighbours to bring themselves above their lowly origins. Your people also show a depth of spirit that view others have – through adversity and even conquest by foreign powers, the Acadians always survive and come out all the stronger. However, these differences should not mean that common ground between us could not be found. Indeed, I do not doubt that our nations can find commonalities and a strong relationship will flourish between the Serene Kingdom and the Greater Holy Empire.

The Arhomaioi are an ancient people and something of cultural melting pot and an influence on others – many others have been drawn to Arome, to see the richness of our lands and our heritage and they often stay, or take inspiration from it when they return to their own lands. I can hope that the same is true of Esonice, as your lands and your culture are as old and as rich and I do not doubt that visitors are as equally inspired when they visit the Serene Kingdom. From what I have seen of your culture through the dossiers that have been put before the Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion, it is certainly a beautiful land with much to recommend it.

One of the shared aspects that exists between our lands is our love of tea. Although I acknowledge that how our nations consume that beverage is markedly different, it does illustrate that even the most foreign of nations have shared interests that can act as the start of a long and valued friendship. We are a nation focused on cooperation, cultural exchange and friendship, not on childish squabbles such as race and religion.

 

Many Esonians nowadays; despite the historic conflict between the Christian god and Arikai ari(spirits) of our land, take interest in aspects of Christian cultures  and theology. Inspiring many new ideas that helps Esonice further bring itself onto the world stage. It’s also a display that no matter the difference, our peoples will always find interest in each other to varying degrees. If I may, I will start this message off with a reproachful comment. As you can imagine, the recent actions of your wayward protectorate has left my government leery about nations conducting foreign affairs through press releases, statements or just generally by not directly contacting the other nation concerned.

I had thought that Arhomaneia and Seiloseia, as allies through the Partnership for Peace and having a close working relationship through our cooperation in Ceris, would have been in a position to discuss this matter together before your attempt to force my government into action with a public challenge like that. After all, with an army-sized deployment on Ceriser soil and two aircraft carriers with their attendant fleets in Ceriser waters, my nation is the biggest single contributor to freeing that island from the grip of the terrible fundamentalist sect that threatens civilisation there. The Agios Basilikon Kounsistorion is disappointed that your government chose to act in the manner that it did. The Seilosiki, despite their unfamiliar ways and differing beliefs, are thought of as friends by the Arhomaioi and I do hope that neither of our nations will do anything that might sour that.

However, in the interest of maintaining that friendship between our nations, Arhomaneia is willing to look past this indiscretion and I will attempt to allay the fears of your nation. The Megas Agios Basileia does not wish for any one nation to come to dominate the Amnalos Thalassa. This would be contrary to the economic and military security of my nation, as it would prevent the free movement of the Basilikoploimon through the area and into the central Europan seas, as well as the myriad of civilian vessels that ply those waters daily. Likely, the attempt by the Gharoi to float the idea of control over those waters leads from effective Arhomaiki control of the northern entrance to the central Europan seas and of course the Isthmos Kanalos, which my nation retains complete control. The canal itself represents a vast economic boon to my nation, as you can imagine. Similarly, I imagine you can understand that my nation has equally not forgotten the actions of the Gharoi (@Haruspex) in Koussoeia – after all, Arhomaneia was where they were forcibly repatriated. No Arhomaioi wishes to see a repeat of those scenes again and it will be something that we staunchly and forcefully oppose in the future. We will continue to monitor the situation in Azania and keep a close eye on our northern ally to make sure that their colony does not see a repeat of those actions. Such unnecessary, heavy-handed and undoubtedly genocidal actions will not be repeated whilst Arhoma still stands and Christ still reigns.

To this end, Arhomaneia is more than willing to work through the Partnership for Peace programme, along with the Regaseia tes Ghallamvreias (@Gallambria), as they have interests in their own protectorate of Bashan, to demonstrate that the Amnalos Thalassa should remain free of any one nation's interests. This could also be effective in strengthening the cooperation between our nations beyond the theatre of Ceris, as well as showing that Europa is not just a dark continent, free from the gaze of the rest of the wurld.
