Its compassionate, intelligent population of 3.548 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 100%. A small but healthy private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry. A large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life, government-run screening operations remove embryos with severe genetic disorders, and retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites. Crime is totally unknown. The Europa Empire's national animal is the eurotopian owl, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the euro.
