Happy Establishment Day, Cashar! Nationwide, the people of Cashar celebrate this special holiday of the founding and establishment of our nation and its corporatocracy. As per tradition, the Annual Establishment Day Mega-Parade marches through Protiva's clean streets in the downtown area tossing samples and advertising brochures to the cheering populace. It looks like retail chain, Getgo, has one of the most impressive floats this year sporting national colors green, silver, and gold as well as its own color of sunshine yellow and a giant balloon sporting the company's logo, a thumb's up.

The Cashari Cultural Center of Protiva hosts the releasing of the magpies for viewer pleasure. People are once again advised to wear Getgo-brand ponchos because it will get messy releasing so many beautiful national birds in one place! See the advertising brochure supplied by the Getgo float for more information.

In other news, the Board and Bureau have passed new legislation to combat the growing problem of stray dogs and cats in Cashari cities. It has been decided that these animals will be trained and used by federal agencies, law enforcement, and the military for the betterment of society. By doing this, the animals will be taken care of, the strays will be taken off the streets, and the nation will be made a better place.

Training of these animals has been sponsored by Happy Pets, Inc., the biggest pet supply chain in the country.

Today, the city of Malmega, known for its moderately high crime rate but also its theme parks and big shopping centers, saw a record low in both petty crime and violent crime dropping by as much as one percent. For decades, the police have complained of not receiving enough from their corporate sponsorships to protect the cities of Cashar. Analysts suggest the one percent drop can be attributed to legislation passed by the Board and Bureau in 2015 and signed into law by Executive Nakwa Melviska who had promised a tougher approach to crime.

In other news, Cashar's military services have been outfitted with brand new equipment from Battle-Tech Industries. Among the equipment is battle armor made from a spider silk and Kevlar-based polymer. It comes in traditional camo and stealth gray, but citizens may purchase this multi-million kermote suit and have it customized at additional cost. Movie star, Kebar Bogdavisk, recently purchased his very own battle armor in royal purple.

Additional news regarding the military includes the recently dubbed Cyber Troopers. This new branch of military service saw its first recruits graduate from "reboot" camp. These military personnel will be responsible for protecting the nation from hackers and other security risks to our information infrastructure.

News Report 07/19/2017

Cashari Tabrodists have begun protesting anew at the appropriation of their holy symbols for commercial purposes. Four years ago today the Paramount Court ruled in Tabroda vs. the Incorporated State of Centavo that businesses should be allowed to use recognizable symbols within the realm of public domain for commercial purposes. The initial backlash had seemed to calm until today when a group of protesters staged a march in Protiva demanding businesses give up their right to market and advertise using Tabroda icons. Some businesses, like Battle-Tech Industries, have extended a thumb of goodwill towards the protesters by offering them tidy discounts to pacify them. Others, like Sartikavisk Foods, Inc., have declared the protesters a public menace and proclaimed their right to attribute any symbols within the public domain for whatever personal purposes they so choose.

"It's all very insulting," said Tabrodist Bakir Marbvo while spray-painting (with Pretty Paints-brand spray paint cans) a symbol representing the power of the natural world upon the side of a Sartikavisk Foods factory.

Concern from Tabrodists and the tourism industry arose today after new legislation regarding housing passed through the Board and the Bureau. This new legislation relaxed building codes and allowed for the building of houses in areas where it previously wasn't allowed.

Local Tabrodist shaman from the state of Bitkan, Marwan Morovisk, has called for a repeal of the legislation citing environmental concerns as well as pointing out how recent housing has dipped in quality.

Meanwhile, Cashar's premier travel agency, Good Times Travel Corp. has been supporting Tabrodist efforts to conserve the environment citing it as an important part of Cashar's economy.

News Report Year 2019

sandstorm6.jpg

This year saw a massive uptick in desert storms rolling through the country of Cashar. Expert meteorologists suggest the frequency and severity of the storms may, in fact, be due to climate change. Cashari residents braced themselves for a year of poor air quality and difficulty in the agricultural sector. Work productivity was at an all-time low as conditions such as dust pneumonia and keratoconjuctivitis sicca were on the rise. However, the good news is the pharmaceutical sector has been making a killing due to increased sales of inhalers and eye drops.

The year 2020 saw a violent uprising from the combined efforts of the working class and Tabroda extremists. The Cashari Broadcasting Corporation became hijacked in one memorable incident in December 2020 by Tabroda extremists who advocated destroying the city of Malmega in order to make room for more natural and environmentally friendly methods of housing. The Tabroda extremists were identified through the use of their social media accounts and blogs and were able to be captured early in 2021 for their crimes against the nation of Cashar.

Cashar's brand new company, Sweet Smokes, Inc. has increased its demands for tobacco imports after rolling out a new line of candy-flavored cigarettes: Mango Star Cigarettes, Strawberry Pink Unicorn Stallion Cigarettes, and Peppermint Victorious. They have made the rounds and have proved popular with young adult smokers as well as the younger demographic. A few small-wave of protests have erupted here and there at the idea that the cigarettes are being marketed to children, but CEO Vindek Partivolisk has fought back with ads of adult couples enjoying a candy smoke after a delightful date night.

Serial killer, Tedak Bundenisk, has finally been caught after the murders of five women, three androgynes, and two men. His crimes were so grotesque - many in Cashar were calling for the death penalty to be reinstated. Deliberation occured in the Board and Bureau as pressure mounted from all sides. In a stunning turn of events, the vote for the death penalty was ultimately struck down as being against Cashari values and ideals. Instead, Tedak Bundenisk is sentenced to hard labor in the jade mines for crimes against humanity under heavy guard with no possibility for parole. Civil rights activists are calling this decision a boon to civil rights but worry about the hard labor aspect of criminal sentencing and the vastly growing prison-industrial complex.

News Report 02/05/2021

After a desert storm rolled in and knocked out power to one of Cashar's desalination plants, the country is facing a water shortage. Experts say if something isn't done soon, hundreds of thousands of people could be without water within a couple of weeks. Actus Extreme, Co. - the cactus-flavored beverages that go to the extreme - had this to say about the news of the water shortage:

"People need water almost as much as they need cold hard cash. This company has focused on bringing the public flavorful beverages with extra caffeine and sweet syrupy goodness for years. We need carbonated water in order to do business. What are we paying the government for if they can't prevent catastrophes like this?"

The Board and Bureau are currently deliberating on a solution. Water usage may need to be clamped down on, or water might need to be imported in from other countries.

Water Crisis Update!

As Cashar began to face a water crisis in February 5th of this year, Orioni reached out to our government in order to offer assistance in the form of a floating desalination ship. The ship was greeted with open arms by the Cashari people. Not to be outdone, Cashar's island neighbor, Esonice, stepped up to provide humanitarian aid in the form of water and healthcare workers to treat dehydrated Cashari in the urban painted districts of Cashar. The country owes these two fine nations a great deal of gratitude and have hailed their respective heads of government as heroes.

Commemorative bobbleheads of them have been made in their honor and have been selling in great numbers. In addition, Actus Extreme, Co. has rolled out two new flavors of Actus Extreme - Orioni Ultra and Esonice Extra using a combination of all-natural ingredients with artificial flavoring in order to really bring out a beverage that has a taste of Orioni and Esonice respectively. In addition, Good Times Travel, Corp. has its hands full with demand from wealthier Cashari to visit Orioni and Esonice.

Guns, Games, and Galahinda

Following the finished embassy in Galahinda, Battle-Tech Industries stepped up to the plate to provide our ally with arms, both open arms and of the gun-related variety. Among standard-issue Cashari guns such as the Karat-42 and Smitnovo Model 50 and more, Battle-Tech Industries unveiled its latest development project:

Able to fire at a pace that has been dubbed by safety engineers as "insane," this new model of gun is also being presented to our Galahinda ally during the Peace Conference between our two nations. Battle-Tech Industries is even offering full naming rights for the custom-ordered gun in hopes of further inspiring good will and brand loyalty. In addition, a commemorative gun made of solid gold and emblazoned with the Battle-Tech Industries' corporate logo will also be presented. The gun does not shoot bullets. Only friendship.

In other news, a study commissioned by The Labar Company has definitively ruled out that violent video games are not responsible for isolated shooting incidents in Cashar. That being said, the Labar Company rolled out the latest game for the Labar Z which has taken the nation by storm: War Games: Blood Reckoning II.

KASHKAR: For Professionals Only?

Following a deadly three car crash on the Dust Death Tracks and the discovery that all three racers had no formal training in racing, so-called rookie racers, some Cashari have begun questioning whether credentials should be required to race in KASHKAR. The incident has recently garnered national attention as the Board and the Bureau have met to deliberate a new piece of legislation to ban racing without the proper credentials. Proponents of this legislation believe it will dramatically increase safety and reduce the rate of accidents, especially deadly ones on KASHKAR races. Opponents of the legislation say it spells doomsday for KASHKAR as accidents and wrecks are part of the excitement that comes with the sport.

Jimbat Kridshar, CEO of KASHKAR, also opposes this piece of legislation saying: "KASHKAR has a long and noble tradition of being open to all who want to race regardless of where they come from, whether physically or economically. Putting strict requirements on our racers would mean barring those from the lower economic class from being able to move up the economic ladder through the exciting job of extreme racing. Some of our finest racers were people who were self-taught. You don't need a fancy education to race; you just need the drive."
