Corsimenia
I've almost worked up enough a backstory for my nation to the point that I feel I can actually start joining some of the roleplay, but as this is my first roleplay in Europa I don't want to make any sort of egregious errors. What would be the best way to bring my nation into contact the rest of the region? For example: Begin with the election of a president who is in favor of knocking down the isolationist barriers which his predecessors have set up, sending out diplomatic feelers to other nations. Decide to enter a war or other conflict which is already going on. Have some kind of crisis in my country which results in foreign intervention or at least interest. Randomly declare war on somebody. Invade more territory. That kind of thing. Can I just pick one of these ideas and roll with it, or is there one particular way in which I should endeavor to cure my n00bishness? (Not to RPing in general, but to Europa.) Link to comment
Vocenae
Options one and three are the best. Two, well you arn't established in Europa's RP world so you can't just go knocking about in other affairs. I mean, you could, but you'd probably end up doing more harm than good. Four, well, unless that someone is a NPC nation, there's no justification for it and remember, unless the war is agreed upon by all involved nations, other players can rightfully choose to ignore your attacks. You don't meet the requirements for a second plot yet, so unless you plan on losing said territory in the end, you can't really go after it. If you were closer to having a second plot I think you could do it as your expansion RP. However I do think a nation actually losing against the 'natives' of another plot would be interesting and help build a storyline for your expanision RP in the future. Link to comment
Adaptus
You can always go to war with me , Adaptus likes a fight every now and then. Even the peaceful philosophers . Nah, but Voc is probably right. This alliance i'm proposing could be your ticket. But if you have a crisis, it's possibly best to go along the lines of a terrorist attack, or an NPC invasion or even a coup, rather than have a plague or something the latter usually will cripple your whole community, with some sort of conflict, casualties can be restricted to your military, rather than your general population. It'll take me a while to hit 150 posts or whatever the second-plot requirement is, so I can have that option open for the near future. It sounds like it would be fun. To start off with I'll just go with either one or three... probably one unless I can think of a satisfactory crisis that would fit well with the scheme of my nation. Link to comment
Tal Shiar
I think that option one could easily lead into option three. Id go with that one. Link to comment
