As to some issues of heavy small arms, there has been a change in weaponry for the Xukuth Elite Shocktroops.

They are packing the HIA K1 12.7mm heavy gun instead of the mini-gun on a swing chassis. Backpack with an recoil inhibitor arm mounted to the gun, it requires two hands to operate.

Furthermore, to be clear, as a specialized legion, these troops are on a steroid cocktail and ketamine drug fuel to reduce feeling pain, fear, etc. There is only this legion of them, and most of them will probably die in Hamai, perhaps a few will survive it's unclear as of this time.

On the note of drugging, Ketamine is also used by Tagnik Zun. Anywho. I'll have a post up later. And credit to Tagmatium for bringing up that useful bit of info about said Ketamine. :)

Thanks for changing that lot, man. I was going to suggest something like a .50 calibre or a light machine gun of some sort as opposed to the mini-gun. Recoil inhibitor sounds a bit future-techy, but I suppose it could be a sh*t-load of rubber and hydrolaulic pistons or something to reduce the kick of the machine-gun, although it might be a good idea to have cartridges with a reduced charge or something - it'd still be a leathal bullet, but you'd need less crap to stop the recoil, as well as making the gun more accurate, as it'd be easier to control. After all, there's a reason why these things are generally wielded on a bipod/tripod or as a fixed mount on a tank or something.

If you want a proper cocktail of drugs, give 'em a load of something like an amphetamin, as well as the ketamin.

Or just some sort of opioid/meth-amphetamine mix. It would, conceivably, dull their pain (though maybe slightly reducing reaction time, and advanced reasoning abilities), in some cases reduce their anxiety (depending on which of the two drugs was dominant) and surely keep them awake (that being the amphetamine part). I would think that Ketamine would be the thing *not* to give soldiers, unless they were in extreme, extreme pain. It's an animal tranquilizer, usually horse or cat tranquilizer if taken by humans, and the horse form is much, much more potent. My experiences with ketamine pretty much that it puts you on your belly for a few hours, with no chance of doing anything- especially firing a weapon and leaping about the battlefield.
