Depressurization

Stilistra had only one territory and almost a billion folks, and I'm thinking of expanding into area #28. I think that the population problem could be justification for a forceful annexation to be rp'ed. Question is, would anyone want to share my tiffle? It could resolve into a diplomatic work or a slightly more violent event, either way I'm going to expand and I wonder if anyone else would like to play?

Sure, why not. With the other idea kind of in limbo, maybe I'll get to flex some muscle, one way or the other. It's kind of hard in that area, to get involved, but maybe the rivers will help (Deltannia has river gunboats, not too much used. Maybe we'll get to see some?)

Just be aware fellas, the SPA will be watching its borders and, indeed, its interests like a hawk. You don't want to piss off the SPA

I guess I'd probably be on your side, not really large scale support, just somewhere for the IJAF to try out some new weaponry biggrin.gif

Like the German Condor Legion in the spanish civil war.

I hope you all consider what the SPA's likely reaction is going to be to a whole lot of military units running around near its border...Keep in mind spheres of influence and all! Espeically you IJ, especially you...allies should consult! The others, well, just keep in mind Akiiryu's military is already mobilised...

It's just that there's a large chunk of regional superpowers very close to where you are expanding. The SPA is a nation at war, and having a multinational conflict spring up right next to it is going to put it on high alert.

It's a realistic move that any real nation today would do. The Imperial Republic will also be watching this conflict with a passive interest, as it does all conflicts above Plot #48.

So your are not going to get invaded by the SPA, it's just going to be like you have a giant microscope over Plot #28, with your every move watched.

Yup! I might also add your first attempt to placate the SPA has only resulted in making it suspicious...

I think Tagmatine interest will be limited to just intelligence operatives observing what's going on.

Would that be ok?

I'm not quite sure how to go about it, to be honest, but I might give it a shot anyway.

S,

Man, oh man, does your government needs to go back to diplomacy school! At the moment you're only making the SPA more and more suspicous!

Ummm;

you've just declared war for no good reason (you need excuses other countries are going to stomach) otherwise you're just invading...that is liable to piss people off.

Grey, are you talking about MY river?

If so, you can't just send armed gunboats up it without proper clearance that will never come. Plus it won't actually get you anywhere.

No, Vocenae, I'm on the southern shores of Deltannia. I'm assuming there are smaller rivers and such, the ones on the map being major rivers. Don't worry, the riverboats can't really cross ocean (I guess they could move along the coast viably, but that would be pointless), and I'm just testing them out. Like you said, it wouldn't get me anywhere, riverboats, in terms of naval ships, pack much less of a punch. The idea is that they could provide some cover fire along waterways inland where naval can't go or reach (remember that Deltannia's air force isn't very powerful, and neither is it's land-based attack forces).

Don't worry, we're cool. cool.gif
