Coronation Ceremony

Jacob Taren

Recommended Posts

Once again, the Great Hall is prepared for a ceremony, but one of a very different tone than the funeral services held earlier. Now it is a time for celebration and looking to the future, and the decorations show as much.

Minister Taren welcomes the guests as they arrive, but for the moment the future Queen is absent. She will arrive later on, when it is time for her to assume the throne.

Since having returned from the feast in Byzantium Nova, Empress Orioni has been in her winterpalace in the eastern mountains, studying all sorts of important documents and having meetings with representatives from all over the nation.

After hearing this news from Sevrun, the Empress made it very clear to her secretary that she would like to have some time available to go to Sevrun for the corronation of their future Queen. "Equip my vessel at once, I wish to leave for Sevrun as soon as humanly possible. I understand how hard it is for the future Queen, losing her father and then having to rise to the throne herself."

The very next morning, after having arranged the necessary preparations, the Empress left her winterpalace by helicopter.

It is very probable that they are heading for Zuidhaven first since it is the nearest metropolis. After having arrived there, Empress Orioni will be heading to Nordhaven with one of our famous high-speed train.

Emperor Andronikos, already present in Sevrun took a long call to Lord Komnenus,Byzantine Prime Minister who had been acting as the head of state while Emperor had been away from the country. He ordered some presents for the queen to come and discussed about state matters. Afterwards he was seen arriving in local movie theatre with his wife to see the newest Sevrunian films while they waited for the coronation ceremony to begin.

(Sorry about the delay, ended up having a busy evening)

After a short welcoming ceremony, Maria entered the hall, clad in a very formal red dress. She walked up to the throne and, in the tradition of the nation even before it became Sevrun, kneeled before the Minister of the Interior and swore to uphold the law of the land and lead the country into the future for as long as she was able. Afterwards, she was escorted to the throne, seated and given her crown.

And with that, leadership of the Principality officially passed from father to daughter.
