So, while I kind of documented this in my wiki, I will edit this. This was the other thread idea I was thinking about besides the robots, and a bit better, in my opinion.

If you want the general history, read: Deltannia History and maybe even Solarian Empire as a side note.

The archaeological dig will be center around the islands currently known as 0.4 and 0.5, along with some smaller unseen islands on the map. I would have liked an island to be just north of the western part of Deltannia, but it doesn't actually matter, I can work with this. I plan on finding some clues into Deltannia's past and origins here, and would like for people to join me, otherwise I will finish it on my own, but that's no fun. Should we figure out the origins, I will claim that island for my own, rename it, and probably turn most of it into a historical preserve.

This brings up a question that I keep forgetting to ask: Just how much of the Lanjon Gulf does Deltannia claim? How much of any of the northern oceans does Deltannia claim or consider 'national waters'?

Keep in mind that our proximity, and my tiny little island in the Gulf itself, gives me at 'ownership' of half of the Gulf. Since Foofur isn't active in RP we can assume this. I'm not out to start border disputes, but having at least a rough definition about who owns what would keep mix-ups from happening.

Also, my nation is essentially Norway fused with the U.S., so maybe in Ancient times Vocian vikings could have raided and destroyed alot of Deltannian culture, thus helping to cause the giant gap in it's history.

I'm just tossing out ideas, I know you've got a storyline for your nation, but hey, sometimes stuff like this spices things up a bit.

Thanks, Mongol-Swedes. It will be interesting.

Vocenae, being at such a close proximity to my nation, I would assume that our two nations would be the closest to each other in ancient times. Mathar, however, if you read the wiki, has origins in prehistoric times as well. But no doubt that we could have traded during the city-states era and on.

Besides my standard 12 miles off coast, I don't really consider any part under my control. I consider some of it within my sphere of influence, as no doubt do you. Do I consider it owned by Deltannia? No. I will take either 0.4 and or 0.5 as my own, however, depending on the outcome of this roleplay. I will not touch 0.6 I will assume that it is too far out for any culture to have tried to get from it to the mainland or vice-versa. Also, I will not take Foofur into account either. Unless you are worried about border disputes, we can go into it deeply. Otherwise, in the roleplay, we can just go through it and finish it. I am not particularily considered and did nto consider intruding upon any of your territory. I am assuming no city-state was that far south. Also, I am assuming that none of the islands to the south of Deltannia are being considered. I am northern and its staying that way (perhaps there was one city-state that was established on the island Adaptus now owns, maybe). Remember that I am not interested in taking anything much because most of everything was destroyed over the centuries of conflict.

In terms of history gap, read the wiki. It was fairly violent. You could have easily helped in that as well (internal and external conflict). The city-states were fairly isolated in their squabbling. I could also start an archaeological expedition into eastern Deltannia, the coast, and we could find Vocian raids on towns or something.

Good plans. 2-thumbup.gif

Near Yonaguni (Japan) there are some nice archeologic (or geologic, there's some disagreement amongst experts) remains. Some sort of underwater piramid from 8.000 BC. It's all highly doubtfull, but perhaps you can use some of the stuff. I thought you may be into Star Gate, and those bad guys had piramid-shaped spaceships as well.
