Hello,

 

just started today and thought I'd come and say hello 002.gif

 

 

EDIT : added in general description of the armed republic of rohnen.

 

 

The Armed Republic of Rohnen ( here by known as TARR) can best be described as a democratic dictatorship a single leader is elected by the populace every 6 years, there is no term limit and for the entire 6 year spam of the elected president, he/she has compleate controll over the government. The only laws the president can not change are the laws regarding his term and the election process.

 

TARR's major export is uranium and information technology. TARR also has a median income from tourism as gambling is a major draw to neighboring countries

 

Some odd laws of notable mention:

 

Dinner cerfew -

 

in todays day and age TAAR's presedent has noticed the steady decline in our youths morals from of lack of family time due to the hussle and bussle of todays society. to combat this he has enacted a nation wide dinner time cerfew that lasts 2 hours each evening to enforce families to have dinner together and spend quality time with there children and or significant other.exceptions include members of nessesary goverment programs like fire fighters police and hospital workers.

 

Drivers licenses and the elderly-

 

all elderly must now re-take the driving portion of the drivers test every 3 years after the age of 65 rather than just being able to renew the license

 

Parenting -

 

freedom of choice is right given to all females age 17 and older.however if said female chooses to have her child and give it up for adoption the placement rate for unwanted children is very high due to the second law described next...

 

each female is only allowed to have 2 natural children after which the female will be forced by law to be "fixed" this is to controll population and to deter exploiters of our nation wellfare/child support sytem. however, if the female is married and the adoption agency approves the request this family can adopt more children.

 

crime and punishment -

 

every citizen of TARR of age 18 or older is allowed to register and carry a fire arm on there person as long as said fire arm is visable at all times. In order to register your fire arm you must show proof of graduation from a fire arm saftety course. as well as pass a background check, no fellons may carry a weapon

 

TARR adopts a basic eye for an eye stance on punishment

 

service in the millitary - 2 years mandatory service is required at age 18 unless you enroll in college. if you do not graduate or drop out the mandatory service is reinstated and extended to 6 years

 

Sports - TAAR endorses and sponsors our olympic hopefulls and only had one noteable sports league the RFL, Rohnen Football League, ( OOC american football, not soccer) currently we have 8 teams in the league 1 in each of our major cities

 

military -

 

TAAR's millitary while not as strong as most countries in the region,( yet), is funded stronly by the government and growing rapidly the airforce and navy being the stongest departments in the millitary due to high technology

 

Culture -

 

TARR is not known for its art, while as a whole TAAR is not an artistic nation there are of course a few scattered artists, however we do have 3 novelists who are know world wide.

 

religion -

 

TAAR does not force religion on any citizen all religions are welcomed, but TARR is predominantly christian

so since i am new here i been browsing around the forums and am a little confused, where do I officialy post information about my country its people and asperations in the region ect?

 

any help pointing out the areas I should post information either OOC or IC so everyoen can get to know this new country and upcomming wolrd power would be greatly appreciated!

OH. MY. GOD. "The female"! I also noticed men don't get fixed...It seems the TARR is more than a little sexist. I'm not even going to touch the dinner thingee.

 

I think Akiiryu might just have to open its borders to Rohnenian women fleeing such injustice and oppression.

The TARR i assure you is not sexist women are treated as equals to men in every way, the only reason females were singled out in that law about having children is because if the husband/boyfriend was to be snipped it would be far too easy for the woman to go out and have a third fouth or even fifth child by way of other men, where as if the guy slept around he could still only inpregnate each woman a maximum of 2 times thus still keeping the child quota at 2 a per woman. harsh yes, but it has worked for us

Finnvaria's borders are also open to those who wish to emmigrate to have more children, as our societal structure of "pods" -- groups of closely knit citizens who share both work and play -- allows parents to have more kids than they could sanely raise alone.

 

We note, however, that any emmigrating Rohnen must set aside their personal weaponry. Firearms are not allowed on Finnvarian soil (or surf). Only non-destructive sonic and ultra-sonic weapons are permitted (and those must be licensed).

It seems as though TARR has not been well recieved in the comunity of nations thus far, many feeling our strict rules go above and beyond whats nessisary, However we do not take offence to those opening there boders to our fine populace of women the people of TARR are free to come and go as they see fit and we welcome any immagrants who wish for a more structured healthy set of family and national values!

Although our differences may be many TARR would welcome free trade agreements as well as any future alies

Tagmatium won't make any IC comment on this at the moment (mainly as it's an intro thread, and it's best to keep this sort of stuff in the IC sections *nudges everyone else wink.gif ), although the Tagmatine Orthodox Church may send out missionaries to bring the people of the TARR around to the Light of God and Socialism. tongue.gif

Send some of those missions over to Miiros. I'll have them gambling, drinking, and swearing in my nightclubs by the end of a month and they won't even remember what socialism was. tongue.gif ...Please don't hate me.
