Into the South OOC

So, this is the thread where we discuss what will be going on with my little plan for a naval base on the island between the Northern Meteorolas and the Azure Sea. I don't want a war, but I'd be up for some political mudslinging just so long as in the end the island is still mine.

If this sounds blunt, its because I haven't slept in three days and I'm basically dead right now.

You may not want a war, Vocky, but the way most things have gone recently in the way of seizing islands, you may get one. tongue.gif

Although not from me, as Tagmatium doesn't really care about what happens so far south and isn't really connected to the Alliance vs. the LT thing.

Preferably no war, if you please, I'm on a diet.

You'd think Tagmatium would be looking for at least a little revenge on the nation which humiliated its fleet, though.

I'm sure building a naval facility in the southeast would create a lot of suspicion in Miiros and perhaps set off some warning bells.

CIS-EOS relations are neutral at the moment, but if you plan to build a military stronghold I think you'll have to expect at least some opposition.

I know that island doesn't have a number and so is 'claimable' if you RP it, but still. Why not claim a nice little spot in the Kosscow Sea? wink.gif

You would most definately get a few shots off from me. I'm after that same island (appearantly).

I want the island to create a slightly safer link between myslef and Miiros. The great distance between our nations makes that island a target of intrest. That island wouldn't become a military stronghold, although there would be a anval base included in the package, for defense reasons.

My oil crisis won't affect my navy much. Those ships are nuclear powered. So long as they get the proper fuel (of which I can supply them), they will be able to keep moving.

Woah, so many replies...

Well, as for not building a base up in the Kosscow, its crowded up there, and who says I haven't considered that yet? wink2.gif

My initial idea was to have a Vocenae based corporation build a facility on the island, and it asks for the Vocian government to provide limited military support, which would be with the small detachment of ships that are currently at Tinian.

I wouldn't be opposed to having a joint multinational outpost though, maybe after some tough opposition and perhaps the threat of a military confrontation would force my nation to sign a treaty that would satisify all the nations involved.

Something along those lines.

I've decided Miiros will formally oppose any annexation of this island as it is too close to EOS headquarters and the important naval headquarters on Azura. It would serve as the perfect naval foothold for a far off nation and that would be bad even if the nation has historically been a more neutral power.

@Aristo: As I said, you don't want to upset too many nations, especially with war looming in the north. You've upset the LT by attacking both Rennd and Tagmatine troops, and moving against Vocenae will probably irritate the other CIS nations. A move towards Tinian would piss off a whole lot more of people. I also don't think the Mongol-Swedes are too happy with your nation's use of napalm. Which will be revenged in any future conflict with Tagmatium...

Thread is already started, I'm considering my options and talking.

And WoW is eating me alive.

Claiming that strategic rock will get you into a fight anyway. Really think EOS will let you?
