A special MSNBC report on the situation on the Tarragat Conflict

 

 

Today the Tribal Tribunal announced its intention to keep a division-sized element deployed on Tarragat to enforce its original plan of a demilitarized zone 'free of Renndian aggression', and to aid in the humanitarian efforts underway by the Red Crescent and its affiliates.

 

While this has not been officially declared a permenant policy, our analysts suggest that, with the general slackness of the rest of the region to quickly come to the table and make a strong drive for peace, that the three-division-sized element that is currently engaged in combat operations against Renndian forces, the evacuation of wounded and killed civilians and Mongol-Swede forces, and security operations around Red Crescent refugee trailer parks, may very well remain in full force for a fairly long time.

 

It is expected that the Red Crescent will also increase its manpower on the island, thanks to massive donations and volunteers from the Union, to aid in general cleanup from the mounting environmental crisis that is being wrought on the island.

 

In other international news, a recent upsurge of violent demonstrations in Ide Jima, rumored to have been encouraged by the Ide Jimian Communist Party, have created a substantial security risk in the region. In domestic news, a recent increase in military spending, with the opening of the Mongol-Swede Thrift Store for Armaments, a state-sponsored, privately-managed arms dealer organization, has helped to allieve a minor increase in unemployment, due to the prolonged deployment of the 445th Freedom Fighter Group and its support elements.

A statement issued by the Renndian government denouncing the Mongol-Swede forces remaining on the island was met with outrage, as members of the Mongol-Swede Tribesland Defense Group demonstrated in the streets of Scandinaviopolis. One fighter, who was temporarily attached to the 445th Freedom Fighter Group, proclaimed that 'this would not be an issue at all if the Renndians had not met their own brothers with missiles and bullets'.

 

 

We also have witnessed many demonstrations here on Tarragat by local nationals, clearly disgusted with the way in which the Renndian military handled itself on Tarragat, citing the missile attack that devastated a large village on the island, which has been the focal point of humanitarian relief efforts by the Red Crescent, and sponsored by the Tribal Tribunal and the Tribeslands. Mongol-Swede security forces attached to the 445th Freedom Fighter group managed to contain these demonstrations with no reports of casualties or disturbance.

In foreign news, there is still no word as to the whereabouts or welfare of the Union's representative to the Tamurinian Security Conference, Sunry Ytturb, however, Tamurinian officials have reported that they have the situation 'relatively under control'.

 

 

The Union is presently undergoing establishing official channels with the Tamurinian government to discuss sending additional security forces to secure the Conference site. Rumors are abound that the Tribal Tribunal has already commissioned a commando cell to go into the nation and liberate Chieftain Ytturb. We will keep you posted on the news.

The Tribal Tribunal voted unaimously today to declare a full state of war with the Reichland of Hosagovina. A representative of the Tribunal spoke with our interviewer, promoting the Tribunal's official views of the current dictatorship in effect in Hosagovina, and citing the 'frightfully apparent violations of basic human rights, and going so far as to declare a master race; these Fascist aggressors cannot be tolerated by freedom-loving people in this world any longer'.

 

The Tribunal also called upon other nations in Europa 'to make a united stand against this terror, and to aid the people of Hosagovina who have already taken up arms against the Fascist regime'.

Following the declaration of impeachment of the virulent oligarchy that is the Tribal Tribunal, the Northern Alliance was formed, comprising citizens of the Union who recognized that true freedom started with loyalty to the People, and not to a construed view of Socialist liberty, involving the hijacking of the Global Revolution of the Workers, a movement that originally started as a focus for providing non-violent campaign contributions to Socialist political parties that shared our ideas of a non-racist, classless, feminst, non-violent, Socialist society, in which people cooperate at work, at home, and in the community.

Good evening. Reports from the front lines, and beyond, confirm the faltering of the Tribal Tribunal in their mad quest for hegemonic domination of the Tribes. Those fighters who foolishly place their fates in the hands of men who have long forgotten the feel of honorable battle have begun to fragment, as they cower behind their tanks and artillery batteries, many of which burned today.

A shallow grave containing the bodies of refugees who were heading for the safety of the Akiiryan sectors of the demilitarized zone, and were hit by Tribunal artillery was discovered today. Body count estimates range in the high hundreds. Fortin Lobonsky, the Champion of the Northern Alliance, has "vowed to personally bring justice to the insane, bloodthirsty, and senile dogs who condone this senselessness".

Tonight we are honored to announce the successful capture and evacuation of all surviving members of the Tribal Tribunal, following the catastrophic bio-chemical attack by forces loyal to the tyrants. Positive photographic identification has been obtained of those who were found dead, with several reported cases of suicide. Additional investigation is expected to follow once stability in the Tribelands has been achieved.

 

The surviving members of the Tribal Tribunal have reportedly been moved to the northern regions of the Union, where it is expected that a formal trial will be held in the heavily fortified Alliance city of Rottborg, a city near the former Akiiryan/Mongol-Swede DMZ.

 

In a statement released by the command group of the Alliance, Fortin Lobonsky was quoted as saying "we offer the opportunity of those nations who have also had the unfortunate experience of victimization by the Tribunal's bloodshed and warmongering to send their own delegations to this trial, and we will also be holding an international war crimes trial for the use of biological and chemical weapons."

 

When questioned on the security of the city, a representative of the local tribal militia assured The Voice that the "broken, rogue tribes whose loyalty still rests with these defeated murderers have been effectively cordoned off to the south end of Eebay; Regardless, they would be foolish to launch an attack against foreign nations when they could not even defeat their own brothers."

Good afternoon. The Tribal Tribunal members were officially read their charges after the forming of a general defense counsel was concluded today. The charges range from multiple counts of use of illegal biological and chemical agents and munitions, to the intentional and premeditated targeting of heavily populated civilian areas, to include villages and major urban centers, and mass executions of civilians, as well as gross mistreatment of prisoners of war.

 

While a few Tribunal members were willing to cooperate with the proceedings, 35 out of the 40 surviving members were forcibly ejected from the trial site after Tribunal members provocated a violent struggle with militia security forces enroute to the temple, in an attempt to disrupt trial proceedings. Defense counsel received the formal charges on their behalf.

 

In other news, nearly 1,000 militiamen and women were organized into a new Foreign Legion unit, in response to the Akiiryan military gearing up on their northern border with Adaptus. The activation of the first Mongol-Swede Foreign Legion "is part of our obligation to the Akiiryan people in the defense of their homeland, as they have pledged to us. We want to make it up to the Akiiryans for their gracious acceptance of the refugees from our lands". This was the statement released today by Liberation hero Fortin Lobonsky, who has politely excused himself from the trial proceedings in Rottborg to oversee the new campaign against the Eastern Coalition for the Old Century, which has reportedly amassed a large private military in the eastern provinces of the Union.

Testimonial statements from Tribunal loyalist battle commanders were also read, indicating a 'clear, intentional policy that was widespread and enforced, to eliminate the Tribunal's opponents at all costs', including, but not limited to, 'the prescribing of mass citizen executions' to serve 'as a strong deterrent to uprisings'.

 

 

 

In other news, large swaths of the southern Tribelands have been evacuated in an effort to slow the spread of contamination. Decontamination units of the Northern Alliance have been hard-pressed into overtime to cleanse the taint, and the United Republic of Tamurin is expected to send additional aid to help in the cleanup. Moderate casualties in excess of 45,000 dead from the atrocity at Scandinaviopolis alone has been reported, with no official toll on the outlying villages and rural areas on the books yet.

Each member was sentenced to a minimal of life imprisoment at a newly constructed facility in central Ulaanbataar, the first prison constructed in the history of the Tribelands, "and hopefully the last" a spokesman for the General Council remarked today, citing an "urgent need to stabilize the Tribelands in the growing regional chaos."

 

With the new commitment of Tamurinian military forces, led by longtime ally and supporter of the Mongol-Swedes and its affiliated tribes Field Marshal Von Steinburg, the prospects of a peaceful future in the former USTE are in the very near future, despite the massive build-up of the mercenary armies of the Eastern Coalition.

Rumors are abound that the allied confederations of the Northern Alliance have been advocating a withdrawl of the Mongol-Swede Legion of the Oppressed from Adaptus, citing reports of a severe breakdown of Coalition communications in the southern campaign, with abnormally high M-S militia casualties: Over 2,500 dead from fractricide alone.

 

"I've been told by senior battle leaders on the ground that they've been trying to facilitate Coalition advances in the south" a General Council representative said today, "but they've basically had to act on their own; the Coalition Joint Command isn't talking, militia forces are getting hit by their own Tagmatine and Akiiryan allies, it's a stain on the honor of these hardworking militia fighters, and it is a disservice to the people of Adapton whom we are dedicated to helping liberate from the clutches of their tyrannical oppression."

 

The General Council has yet to make a formal statement on their agenda regarding the fighting in Adaptus, though analysts here on The Voice have concluded that it is "all but impossible that the militias will simply retreat; the Allied Tribes take their honor in battle seriously and will not abandon the freedom fighters of Adaptus that the M-S commando forces have helped train and coordinate."

Today the rebirth of the Mongol-Swede Navy was at hand, with the addition of a new Arsenal assault vessel, complimenting the fleet's small compilation of shore patrol vessels, light Soviet-era destroyers, battleships, and aircraft carriers, which had long sat moored in the harbors of Scandinaviopolis without anyone to crew them. Recently, a new large-scale boost in training has re-established the naval forces, which are expected to grow rapidly in the months to come, as the General Council recently voted to substantially boost naval funding.

 

In a related story, the Allied Tribes today greeted the Armed Forces of Renposa in a change of flag ceremony, as the Renposan Navy turned over the Arsenal assault vessel which arrived in Scandinaviopolis today. The event has established a new era of prosperity and cooperation between the Renposan people and the Tribelands, although no formal meetings between national leaders has been announced, as of this broadcast.

We bring you a special breaking news report: A massive revolution has broken out in the Renposan nation. The Black Party, which comprises a solid majority of the present Renposan government, has recently faced substantial public opposition, and the Party has reportedly begun cracking down on the people of Renposa.

 

An underground resistance movement, hailing itself as 'The People's United Front' has risen to challenge the Black Party, and has called upon the support of the Allied Tribes to aide them in their cause for liberation from the Renposan government. Allegations have surfaced that the recent 'zombie outbreak' in the Renposan nation was merely a cover for the Black Party to expand its national surveillance program, and the fact that this is in gross violation of Renposan law has become a significant cornerstone of the founding basis for The People's United Front.

 

The General Council has yet to formalize an official response to the crisis in Renposa. Mr. Gashi al-Sistani, a member of the Council, has stated that "our military options in this conflict are limited, as recent reports of the AdSoc regime resorting to weapons of mass destruction have been brought to our attention, and efforts to fully stabilize the territories of the Allied Tribes have only recently begun to show substantial fruitition".

 

It is also unlikely, we were told, that a significant multilateral solution is likely to develop. The Renposan nation, apart from its considerable military sales in the region, have largely remained a politically isolated nation. With the failure of the recently proposed Socialist Internationale, garnering support in the region for a socialist revolution against a rogue government in the region will prove to be difficult, analysts of this network agree.

The General Council today expressed outrage at the recent aggressions of the extremist Ide Jimian government, as they began a campaign of terror and violence against neighboring states, beginning with massive, brutal barrages of artillery against military and civilian targets alike, according to a source with the Red Crescent, a multinational aid organization which was operating in the area.

 

"The Ide Jimian government seeks to expand its state terror program, which has constantly kept its people in constant suffering, severely limited any and all political and civil liberties, and has long voiced its vehement hatred against the rights and liberties of the common human being" a representative of the General Council stated in a press conference earlier this morning.

 

It is also reported that a number of M-S citizens, who were working with the Red Crescent in the area that has come under siege by the Ide Jimian military dictatorship, have gone missing and are presumed dead, according to Red Crescent officials. The General Council has vowed to "pursue any peaceful means to obtain any information as to their whereabouts and condition" the General Council representative stated today. "Inshallah the Ide Jimian government will cooperate with this simple request; the General Council grieves for the loss of life and progress in the region".

 

 

In other news, the newly outfitted M-S Navy is deploying a small fleet to observe the Renposan civil conflict, after the Renposan government declared martial law, and commenced to crack down on its populace with full force.

 

The decision was made by the General Council after many Renposan citizens called on the Tribelands to help defeat government forces after it became clear that the government had not only violated a number of its own laws regarding the legality of surveillance and civil protection, but has been witnessed as having committed a number of human rights violations, with scores of Renposan citizens publicly executed.

 

While the General Council has yet to formalize a solid position on the crisis, said their representative, "we have an obligation to the people of Renposa, as our close allies, to keep a handle on the situation and represent to the people that we support their desire for justice and equality".

Silistran nationals, found with military-grade para-drop equipment, have been detained by Akiiryan military forces in the Akiiryan-Silistran border zones. The Akiiryan command structure has yet to release an official statement regarding the full identities of the detained Silistrans, or their intentions, but the response of the M-S tribal leaders has resulted in a buildup of internal security forces and the activation of the northern militias, thereby closing the northern border zones and restricting traffic through the region.

 

The recent upheavel of the Silistran government "has created an atmosphere of insecurity in the region' an official representing the General Council at a recent press conference stated.
