The Republic of Pine Park Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 The Constitution of the Republic of Pine Park We the people of Pine Park demand individual and economic liberty, the benefits of capitalism, the rights of property and life, smaller and more competant government, a reformed tax system, peace and free trade, rule of law, noninterventionist policies, and the basic rights and freedoms accorded to all members of a free and civilised society. Individual and Economic Liberty- No citizen of Pine Park shall be deprived of their rights of free speech, expression, protest, religion, media, or criticism of the government. No citizen of Pine Park shall be denied their right to the money and property that they earn, nor the right to spend such money and property as they wish. No citizen shall be deprived of their earnings through fraud, theft, or extravagant taxes. Capitalism- Pine Park is a capitalist nation. What each person earns is theirs, to do with as they wish. No man nor government shall deny the citizens of Pine Park their earnings. Property and Life- No person's property shall be seized by the government, nor will the government tell a person what they can and cannot do with their property. This includes the person's physical body, as well. No citizen shall be denied the right to pursue the life they choose to live. Smaller and More Competent Government- Pine Park's government shall remain small, and non-intrusive. Our government is run much like a corporate board meeting, with two Provincally elected Parliamentary members per Province, led by a nationally elected Executive who gets the final say on all Parliamentary decisions, should the decision reach his/her desk by way of a 2/3 Parliamentary majority vote. Most of all, Pine Park's government exists to protect the citizen's rights, not to intrude upon them. Tax System- The citizens of Pine Park shall never have to pay extraordinary taxes for needless social or corporate welfare programs. Tax increases, if any, will be very small, and very temporary. Peace and Free Trade- Pine Park will engage in peace and free trade with all nations, but will have entangling alliances with none. We are an independant nation, built on individualism, and shall remain so. Pine Park shall never be a member of the UN. Rule of Law- Pine Park has few laws, but the ones we do have must be followed. Capital punishment shall be reserved for the most serious offences of depravity. There is no Supreme Court. Each Province shall handle its own criminal matters, with inter-Province matters being handled by a judicial coalition of said Provinces. Noninterventionist policies- Pine Park shall never interfere in the government of neighboring countries. Pine Park attacks only if attacked first. Basic Rights of Man- No citizen of Pine Park shall be deprived of these basic rights: life, liberty, property, expression, speech, religion, protest, criticism, media, to keep and bear arms, privacy, safety from cruel and unusual punishment, and most of all, the right to live as one would live. And always remember, one man's right to swing his fist ends at the other man's nose.
Damak Var Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 (edited) Though Damak Var is moving towards a free enterprise economic system. Capitalism is good, with a little government regulation here and there. But how can you run such a society with all these "civil rights"? Its unthinkable No citizen of Pine Park shall be deprived of these basic rights: life, liberty, property, expression, speech, religion, protest, criticism, media, to keep and bear arms, privacy, safety from cruel and unusual punishment, and most of all, the right to live as one would live. Bah! Such will lead to your demise. My suggestion-declare martial law, that's a start. (I do not mean to offend, just joking around) Edited June 9, 2006 by BlackJackEmperor (see edit history)
The Republic of Pine Park Posted June 9, 2006 Author Posted June 9, 2006 You'd be surprised how peaceful near-Anarchy can be.
Miiros Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 It is clear to us that the people of Pine Park and the Free City share the same basic ideals, although you seem to be far ahead of us in terms of building a capitalist society in terms of less tax. We're working on eliminating that bothersome thing though. It is my belief though that Miiros and Pine Park are natural trading partners and I am confident relations between us shall always be good. ~ Miirosi Statement to Pine Park
The Republic of Pine Park Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 Free trade is always welcome to the citizens of our Republic.
Londim Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 I run my nation similar to yours. Excellent civil rights and political freedoms have resulted in all crime being non existant.
The Republic of Pine Park Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 Once you make everything legal, there's no such thing as crime. At least, that's how I look at it.
