War Against Terrorism

Today 9:04 CET the head of states of Italgria had received an urgent message from General Volpe about an attack of unknown forces to a small city called Santa Romania in the SE of the capital Bellaria. The Head of states propmtly terminanted his cabinet reunion and called in for an immediate assembly for all people in charge of the Military aswell as the minister of Defense, Internal Affairs and Foreign Affairs.

 

First the talk was about just a terrorist attack by the well-known terrorist group FTF [Freedom Through Force]. While discussions about the situation where going on, satelite pictures were being analyzed and reports were being assayed General Volpe came in with a second urgent message.

 

The TFT had tried to take over Tierra del Vasto but luckely they didnt know that Suverina and Italgria were setting up a mutual military base do to they're new alliance. The army had managed -with combined forces- to fight back the TFT attack. The attack was rather small than to be able to manage to capture this city. The Head of states immediately called the Military base which had managed to fight back the attack to make the situation clear.

 

Champi: General Tacquard do you hear me?

Tacquard: Loud and clear sir!

Champi: Tell me General what is the situation?

Tacquard: We were setting up the base with Suverinian forces as you had ordered to us when suddenly something exploded at the east side of the base where the Suverinian forces were setting up. The Suverinian suddenly called for backup and we sent the entire batallion to they're side and we saw some 10.000 men trying to breach our defences. We were less soldiers but we managed to reatreat them.

Chapmi: Good work out the General start to...

Tacquard: Sir, if I may interrupt... Some of the death attacking soldiers... They where from Suverina...

Champi: God... Ok General, act as you never found out about this. Search for survivors and build up the base. We will come back to you as soon as possible. For now try to defeat every attack at any cost!

Tacquard: Sir, yes sir!

 

 

Further investiagtions had made clear that a part of the Suverinian army stationed in Italgria had joined the TFT and were now helding captive the civilians of Santa Romania. What did not make sense was that Suverinian forces helped us defend the base in Tierra del Vasto. Were they just being helpul to then fall behind our backs?

 

When we received the notice that a second even smaller attempt to capture Tierra del Vasto had occured, we had to take action! We knew that we had to do something before we would be able to attack Santa Romania because the casualties would be to extreme. We decided to mobilize troops to create a provisory base NW of Santa Romania and try to start secret operations to start getting people out of the city secretely or in some other way. The city was being held captured by TFT and Suverinian forces and we had to manage to get the city back at any cost since it was important for some uranium mining which some of our industry depended on.

 

Meanwhile we had found the military base from which the attacks against Santa Romania had started and the attacks against Tierra del Vasto. We had to stop them. We decided to start mobilizing a battallion including tanks and infantry when suddenly a secret agent came in and said we should stop mobilizing and await an answer from Suverina. We had decided to create a base next to the Suverinian base to atleast hold back the attacks from reaching the city of Tierra del Vasto.

We were unaware that your two nations had formed a bilateral treaty and are unclear as to why this is necessary given your mutual membership in the CIS.

 

Considering the splintering of your military in the recent Dacvi conflict, and the fact that Rekamgil and Akiiryan forces still patrol the DMZ in Suverina, any involvement by factions of your military in Italgria could have international ramifications. Are you having trouble keeping control of your military? Will the CIS need to take control of this situation? We do not wish to meddle in your internal affairs and are tiring of war these days but cannot stand by and watch your military take control of your country because your government is unable to control it. Please clarify the situation ASAP.

We have found out that the oil billionare Oscar Nikolov was a close friend of General Strogelov. This as can be seen is just one case. Suverina has started setting up a base next to our base in the outsides of Santa Romania. The Republic of Italgria so wants to state clearly that Suverina is in full control of its army, expect that batallion of frustrated militants. You seem not to have been put in the knowledge that the government of Italgria and Suverina have an alliance between each other despite the CIS. You will find the reasons in our National News (INN). So that should actually be enough written in there to explain you why we have joined this alliance. Until now The Republic of Italgria thinks it can handle with this terrorists for the moment but if the situation gets worse it will be difficult to hold them back for longer.

It was 0900 CET, the troops had started preparing to attack the base from which the attacks from Tierra del Vasto were going on. At 0910 CET the first artillery strike against the base had started.

 

 

When the artillery was over, the tanks started they're engines and 1000 troops mobilized. Thanks to the artillery not much resistance was shown. Meanwhile the attack was going the head of states of Italgria received a message. A small city next to Santa Romania was attacked and now held captive by the terrorist group. The city hat a port from which -through satelite images- could be seen that troops were being brought in. The head of states immediately deployed 10 Los Angeles Class Submarines, 10 Aircraft Carieers and 3 Destroyers to block the port and so stopping the inflow of the militia but this would take to long to stop a major problem. Aswell The 23th and 35th Panzer Regiment, 1st and 2nd Artillery Regiment aswell as 150'000 troops were mobilized to set up a base on the outsides of Mendoza to keep the enemy there.

We do not have anything with this conflict to do. Although general Strogolev is reported to have been bribed and left our army. We have strong reasons to belive he is one of the "tops" of all this. The small group of our soldiers are probably some fools that followed their general.

 

We do not have trouble of keeping our military. In dacvi the soldiers were probably hungry and thirsty and saw what they thought a good solution, many would have done the same. I do not think the CIS will need to have any military involvement in this conflict if nations in the CIS don't want to.

The 23th Panzer regiment was on its way to Mendoza when suddenly troops and tanks surrounded the regiment. A bloody fight had started. The regiment tried to call for help but the only thing you could hear were shots of all kind and soldiers screaming for a medic and crying for help. When the 25th Panzer regiment arrived to the place of the battle all had ended. The 23th panzer regiment had vanished. Pieces of death bodies were lying around the entire battlefield, only few people had survived. They're hands were shacking and full of blood, they could barely get a word out of they're mouth. The regiment had to go on and try to rescue people in Mendoza...

The first troops arrived in the base. With them were members of Deltannian's Antiterrorist Operatives, with all supplies ready. The rumors said that they were going in to Santa Romania. And then possibly onward, more troops were on there way...

After a day of no further events and troops from the exterior entering Italgria's land, the government of Italgria had to react. The threat was gettint bigger and bigger. Through satelite pictures the military had spotted 3 panzer regiments and 2 military bases set up by the "unknown" enemy. The head of states decided to react. At exactly 2000 CET a regiment of 45 F-22A Raptor started they're engine and departed from the military base located west of Bellaira. At 2010 CET they arrived at the enemy gates.

 

F-22A Raptor: "Fox 1 out, Fox 2 out, Fox 3 out!"

F-22A Raptor: "Mission Accomplished all enemies destroyed"

 

The jets had created a devastating damage to the panzer divisions aswell as the military bases. Thanks to the surprise attack we had only lost 2 planes by anti-aircraft missiles. It was now time to prepare for the attack towards Mendoza...

Meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield Italgrian Special Troops started secret missions to rescue people out of Santa Romania. One Squad has gone missing since then. The last thing that was heared for them was that they were requesting backup. The other rescue troops had managed to rescue most of the citizens trapped in Santa Romania

Suddenly a Suverinian soldier screemed: "There! Enemies!"

A platoon was heading direction Bellaira. As fast as they could Suverinian and Italgrian forces stationed and prepared the artillery for the battle. At 2045 CET the silence of the dark was broken. Artillery fires struck through the dark night. The enemy platoon was charging. When it arrived close enough to start firing towards Suverinian and Italgrian forces, the enemy platoon was already minimized to 1/4 of its original size. The battle was fastly over. On Suverinian and Italgrian sides there were 9 casualties to be reported. They died as heros defending the captial of this free and beautifull nation.

The soldiers were moving forward in a straight line, patroling the area. They were far from the combatzone and the men weren?t expecting any encounter with the enemy. But suddenly:

?Grenade! Get down! Get down!?

The soldiers threw themselves on the ground to protect themself from the explosion.

Luckily nobody was injured. They put their heads up and looked where the grenade had come from. They couldn?t see anything but trees.

The officer said whispering:

?1 and 2 move to the left, 3, 4 and 5 go forward, 6 come with me to the right.?

The soldiers crawled towards the position that they were given. Soon the caiptain saw someone crawling in a bush. He opened fire imideatly. Some more bushes started moving, probably the terrorists that were advancing. The team moved closer to eachother to be prepared. Suddenly the terrorists opened fire. The soldiers returned fire. Private Ivanov was badly wounded. The remaining terrorists arose and ran away. The patrol tried to shoot as many as possible while they were escaping. What the hell were the terrorists doing here?
