News Flash Spy Alexander von Klein being Escorted Although previously superb relations have continued between Ravenhelm and Upper Strathyclyde, not to mention the Military Defensive Alliance that marked a new era in bi-lateral respect for Ravenhelm, a US spy was reported to be found this morning in the Court of the Executive Council 1 hour ago. The Ravenhelm Intellegence Network Group (RING), one of Europa's prime intelligence databases, identified the spy as Alexander von Klein, a criminal rumored to have ties to the US government. The capture of von Klein ignited a chain of fury around the Executive Council. Denhulme Validax, Councilman of Foreign Relations and Affairs, was aghast at finding a spy from a nation that staunchly supported forging good-mannered relations. He spoke his thoughts on the matter, "It strikes me as uncouth and as an act that will leave deep reprecussions on our relationship, if any, with Upper Strathyclyde in the future." Chairman Manelin Zanthe was enraged to learn of the US's employment of espionage against an ally. "Creating an alliance with the US was a prominent step toward a peaceful future for all of Europa. I deeply regret that the US has decided to shatter this vision. This is sufficient enough for us to declare war on Upper Strathyclyde." He declined to make any further comments on the matter. It was reported that von Klein shall not be spared the amenity of a trial. Further action regarding his punishment has not been disclosed. The Executive Council of Ravenhelm has voted for going to war unanimously, with a vote of 13 to 0 to 0. This means war for our nation, and as such, security measures will be implemented in all public areas. Chairman Manelin Zanthe is speaking live about the issue at Mischling Hall now. (Cameras switch to Zanthe speaking) The spy, Alexander von Klein, has been executed after receiving a plea from the US requesting his safe return. We cannot trust the US with the handling of their own brethren, who is a criminal to our country. This, my fellow citizens, marks the beginning of a war. A war that shall display our pride as a nation, a war that shall portray the consequences of betraying an alliance. I call upon all nations currently in a status quo of questionable relations with US to support Ravenhelm in any way deemed rational. Do not let the US's treachery go unpunished! (Cameras switch back to RMC) In other news, intelligence agencies close to Ravenhelm picked up traces of encoded messages being sent between Ravenhelm and US.
