Pirilao
French students versus government: who will win the labour law battle? Â Tens of thousands of French students took to the streets across France on Thursday to protest against a controversial new labour law. Protesters object the new two-year job contracts for under-26-years-old which employers can break off at any time without explanation. French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, whose popularity dropped after weeks of unrest in the country's universities, said the new law would reduce France's youth unemployment rate.President Jacques Chirac has appealed for talks, but said the new law was important to fight unemployment. The Dominion of Sypons
Pft, you think you have problems. Our government just passed industrial relations reforms which pretty much make it illegal to question anyone superior to you in anyway, make trade unions illegal and makes overtime illegal. They put it through senate while the commonwealth games are on so that no one notice. Damn I hate John Howard. Link to comment
