Stoned Smurfs
i just looked at greece's site and forums and while they are not all that great, they are kicking our forums in the ass. i haev now took this as a challenge and have decided to make a web site and, even tho i have VERY limited access to the forums HTTP and SQL then im just gonna have to work Europa to death. i want to change the rank, buttons, axe the ads, banner, footer, maybe throw a news scroller at the top and have it directly linked to the site as well as other improvements that we need. this will how ever cut down on my posting a bit and limit my RPs and TEA movement. we need this in order to keep up with NS and everyone else. i have also talked to charles at NSEconomy and he may give us some kick ass script to link our site directly to NS. ill get most of the HTTP code and scripting done as soon as i can and hopefully have a draft up and running by this weekend. i have a friend who works at register.com and is gonna hook us up with a www.NSEuropa.com domain name. Â If you're willing to put the effort into it, wunderful. - There's a standard portal to invisionfree-forums (like this), but that isn't much of a presentation. - ranks: easy to change, however, I don't have much imagination - buttons: haven't tried changing them yet, but I know it's possible - axe the ads: it says add removal costs 5 US$, and you may call me cheap (and maybe i am), but this is just a game i play in my free time. - banner/footer: shouldn't be any problem to add those - new scroller: i'm afraid don't know the exact code of that, but i'll inform around, and see what i can find. - that's all i can come up with now, i'm off to bed. Good night! Â Link to comment

Orioni
Take a look at the European Coalition website if you want an awesome, very organized forum. Maybe it's time to digg up my example of structure for this forum. I briefly talked about it with Europa a while ago and some things slightly changed but if it is the will of all government members I think a revision can surely be made possible. I for one am a supporter of streamlining our regions homebase. If requested, I will repost my blueprint for a new structure. Link to comment

I was thinking about something 'European' but that's not really clear is it. As long as we have something different then those red bars I'm ok with it. Here are some ideas I found on the web:  MEDALS http://www.webxfrance.org/forum/ranks/bluegreenstar2.gif http://www.webxfrance.org/forum/ranks/adminleet.gif  DOGFEET http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum/image...aw_ranks1_2.gif http://www.siriusbackstage.com/forum/image...aw_ranks1_5.gif  MILITARY http://www.silver-style.com/forum/images/ranks/rang8.png http://www.silver-style.com/forum/images/ranks/rang13.png  LEVELS http://www.talkxbox.com/forum/images/ranks/rank7.gif http://www.talkxbox.com/forum/images/ranks/rank8.gif  BLUE-RED http://www.civ3.com.br/forum/images/ranks/rank_civ3_3.gif http://www.civ3.com.br/forum/images/ranks/rank_civ3_5.gif Link to comment

Byzantium Nova
Non-military people will have their own marking? Link to comment
Vanarambaion
That sounds like it makes the most sense, don't you think? Link to comment
Orioni
Wouldn't it be best if eveyone had the same sort of ranks? These ranks should be used as a reward to active members. I think that giving every group in the region a different sort of ranking-system will get very confusing. Â I hope can decide on one theme. And it doesn't have to be one of the above, I'm willing to create something myself! Â I have an idea: everyone suggest one option and then we'll see which one get's the most votes. Â My vote: MEDALS Link to comment
Stoned Smurfs
well the site will be a member based site so everyone will have to login to the site in order to see the links, shoutbox and other things we'll have. we will have live XML feeds on the site from NS itself which will only be available to members. we will have web Admins (Me and EE) and web Mods (Phil, BZ, Orioni, Van) that will have idividual things to update from time to time. i still say we have about 2-3 weeks untill its up and running. when we beta test it ill give everyone a link. Europa
The green squares are called pips. Pips change with your post count, I'm afraid special pips for military members won't be possible. I do like the medals style... Link to comment
Stoned Smurfs
The site will be made using interesting graphics details (in Photoshop, ImageReady), DHTML (meaning CSS and JavaScript). All the resources(updated pages, shoutbox)will be created using MySQL databases with PHP web programming. So we will have a dynamic content page. At the end everything will be optimized, the code and images in order to have a fast load. Finally the website will be verified to work well on all the basic browsers. Â There's this Romainian cat thats gonna help with the XML feed and that should make the time expected to be done cut in half. Â Â ~Pot~ Link to comment
