Â as for the banner are there any limits on pixels or should i size her up with the one we have now? now im on a big screen but on my screen it looks like the banner we have now doesnt make it all the way to the right side of my screen, is that tru for you guys as well? and besides 'EUROPA' on it is there any other slogans you would like? (SAMPLE: Europa - A NationStates.net Power Region)

I would like somethin that moves, if that isn't too difficult. Here you can see a great example.  As for a slogan: how about "Unity in Diversity"? Why not make it a contest with a poll, that way everyone could have their say and the best proposal would win.

Â Indeed, it doesn't make it all the way to the right, there's a little gap. A slogan would be nice, and I like "unity in diversity", but we could have a contest if you like.

Very much! This truly is a work of art, just look at the shading and font used to type "Europa". -- I have a remark that prevents me from fully approving this banner: there are two real maps of Europa with some countries highlighted and some left out. I know that 99,9% of all people will associate this map with Europa but I have doubts that this will also be suitable for Europa in the NationStates-world.

Stoned Smurfs Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 well thanks O, i really just threw them together in about 15 minutes. the main purpose was after i did the first once i noticed it might clash with the colors so i did one on a white background. didnt think no one like them so i have been searching for a few more images. if you want i could keep the font (i did that myself) and make it a differnt layout. i am definitly open to suggestions. Well, I'm not an artist in making these banners or flags or whatever but I do notice some points of consistency: - We should definately mention the name "Europa". - The official European flag will probably be used. - Seen the colors of our forum and the official European flag, I believe the colors dark blue to purple would fit best in with the rest. The official colours can be found here. - A slogan isn't necessary but does look good. Â A thought. If we were to use images in the background, what could be on it: peoples, landscape, building? For the moment I'm mostly thinking in the direction of the bridges you can see on the ?-money, but there must be even better examples. Â Another thought, about the slogan this time. If we were to use "Unity In Diversity", how would it be possible to visualize this? I don't mean a rainbow or something like that. Well, I don't really know wh?t I mean by that, I'm just thinking out loud. Â My last remark is more of an example: the following banners comes from the official 'Europa' website http://europa.eu.int
Stoned Smurfs Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 well the pic they used for a background is a bunch of guys hanging a huge EU flag, i have the actuall pic somewhere. i was thinking however, i could use the flags of our nations for a backdrop to the banner. that would sorta symbolize united in diversity. either way the NSE scripting is more difficult than i thought so its gonna be a short while before we get the overall look of the site and forum down. this is however a good way to hash out all the kinks in it. Â btw, thanks for the input.

Stoned Smurfs Posted October 5, 2004 Author Posted October 5, 2004 yea sorta, but more of a backdrop than a, well whatever they call that. they would be more of a transparent back drop than an extension to the right like theirs. i am also incorparting the flags with the map and thats what made me think of it. it would look only similar to theirs in that aspect butoverall have a TOTALLY differnt feel.

Europa Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 That's a pretty good one. I like the picture on the left, and the fonts... but (yeah, there's a but, I know, I'm nagging) could you make one without the mirror-effect too, to find out which one looks better.
