Tigger-Growlia Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) SPRUNG SPROING SPRING This is the news. Today in Tigger-Growlia a new defense spending bill has gone in front of Duke Tigger for review. The bill, which covers increased spending with existing contractors and also the establishment of spending plans with other foreign defense materiale providers is that largest monetary spend that has ever come in front of Parliament and Duke Tigger. Konrad Wall, whom leads the opposition for the bill is concerned that Tigger-Growlia's newly established automotive and biotech industries could receive less government assisted investment as the military would now receive the lion's share. With the two industries now successfully employing 12% of Tigger-Growlia's working age populace the shift could be seen as dramatic. The Defense Chief of Tigger-Growlia, Johann Licorish, has sponsored the defense spending bill stating that our military is drastically undersupplied and carries weapondry that are outdated and not well maintained. The bill would overall increase military and defense spending by 218%. Finance: The backlash from the change from the Honey-Peg to the Gold Standard is being felt today with a number of Honey farm employers laying off up to 500 staff nationwide. However; it is hoped that the new Bear-Honey preserves that will be established in all wooded areas over 50sq miles will provide increased employment in this sector. Markets continued to rise despite the news with TG shares on the EUX ending up 8 points to a level of 1894.4. Weather: As predicted it is sunny but a short cold snap has moved in today dropping temperatures by up to 7c in the upper hills. The spell is expected to last until Saturday when a low-pressure moisture bearing system will move into the national area. That's all there is today folks! A pandemic flu known as the Snarkish-Flu or BBB-H51 has ripped across Tigger-Growlia in the last 3 days spreading slowly at first but it is now reported that at least 40-45% of the population has fallen ill. Tigger-Growlia Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 Sproing Sprung Spring This is the news. Today in Tigger-Growlia the flu epidemic has been contained thanks to the efforts of a multinational force dedicated to the health and goodwill of the people of Tigger-Growlia. With over 22,857 deaths thus far the flu has proved the deadliest in over 75 years with only the Spanish-Flu pandemic of 1918 being worse. We take you now to a series of reports dedicated to the noble and great efforts of both Tigger-Growlia and the other humanitarian nations of the EU. First, you'll hear from Sven Tiggerson, who is at HOSPIRILAO this moment. Over to you Sven, "Thanks Owl. As you can see behind me, HOSPIRILAO from the nation of Pirilao opened it's doors to Tigger-Growlia in it's moment of Crisis, with the bustle of nurses and doctors behind me all rushing the antibiotics and vaccinations to the patients themselves. I gotta tell you Owl, there was a very touching moment, when the leader of Piralao visited the sick children's ward here in the area set aside for the flu-bound children of Tigger-Growlia. He brought clowns, flowers and gifts for all the children to help lift their spirits. It did more than that, it helped make them better. All the people of Tigger-Growlia owe a huge debt to Pirilao for opening their doors to the people of Tigger-Growlia. This has been Sven Tiggerson for TGNN. Back to you Owl." Next, we take to you to Roo Rooventium who is aboard the hospital ship HMS Ravenloft. "Greetings to you Owl and all the people of Tigger-Growlia. As you can see, I am aboard the very bustling and busy hospital ship the HMS Ravenloft. The Ravenloft, which was supplied by the very generous nation of Vanarambaion, is a state of the art type of hospital vessel with a large quarantine facility that was made available to sick Tigger-Growlians. Also, a number of the more ill patients were airlifted directly to Vanarambaion for treatment and I gotta tell you owl, not a one of those traumatic cases perished - those great guys over there at the Vanarambaion Medical Univeristy managed to save every one of them. Oh...wait Owl...I'm being told that I have to move as a helicopter with more medical supplies is landing at this moment. This has been Roo Rooventium for a very greatful Tigger-Growlia" Thanks, Rooventium, we'll now take you to another hospital vessel the USS Nightingale. TGNN doesn't have a reporter on board, but the Captain of the ship, Captain Tom Fichser. Over to you Captain" "Well, I can say on behalf of Upper Strathclyde that we are more than happy to help and that our other vessel the USS Forester feels honored as well. We've provided around the clock cure for the patients we've been brought and have also flown numerous helicopter and harrier sorties to dispatch the vaccine to the more hard hit and remote parts of Tigger-Growlia. I am very pleased to report that Upper Strathclyde has agreed to absorb the cost of this mission. I'm busy at the moment so I need to go now, but we'd all like to thank Tigger-Growlia for this opportunity to help." I...I don't know what to say....sorry my voice is breaking...thank you so much to you Captain Fichser and to all of the gracious and wonderful people of Upper Strathclyde. We know take you to a very special reporter, Duke Tigger himself is in the capital of The Lion Justice with Andrew, the First Called Lion, President. If I could have complete silence in the studio please, complete silence in the streets and your homes, I now bring you Duke Tigger "My fellow Tigger-Growlians. This is been a dark time in the history of Tigger-Growlia. We have faced an enemy that we could not see, we were attacked by an enemy we could no touch. No diplomacy, no talking and indeed no words would be heeded by this enemy. But, even in the face of this voracious enemy that spread faster than any other of its kind in history, we were not alone. A select few nations within Europa stood up and said "Tigger-Growlia, you are not alone, we will help!" and they did. I stand before you, on the great Pride Rock of The Lion Justice, next to its most noble leader President Andrew and in the land of the people who provided us with the vaccination for this terrible Feline Flu. President Andrew, Tigger-Growlia is in your debt, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this amazing gift. I have been in contact constantly with the leaders of Pirilao, Vanarambaion, Upper Strathclyde and Slavic Byzantium to thank them for their monumental efforts in helping save the people of Tigger-Growlia. Words enough will not thank you, so I will be in contact with you shortly to offer whatever the people of Tigger-Growlia have. President Andrew, as brothers of the Feline Races, we want you to know that Tigger-Growlia stands next to you as friends, as allies and indeed as brothers and will always assist you whenever, where ever or however we can. Together, we can provide light in the dark for the people of Europa and the greater world." Well, there you have it Tigger-Growlians. A heartfelt thanks to all that helped in our time of need. I now would like to tell you a personal story. A story of heroics and heroes. While this reporter lay in bed in his own home with a high fever and no hope I heard the sound of a helicopter. I managed to stagger to my window and look out and there I saw a helicopter with the initials SB DART on it decending into my neighbourhood. Once the helicopter landed these soldiers of the great Slavic Byzantium rushed out and began innoculating everyone in our neighbourhood and distributing food and water to those in need. Once I had received the vaccination, I asked one of the soldiers, a Alexi Genchov, if he would let me interview him for TGNN. He simply replied "I'm sorry sir, but I've got a heck of a lot more people to help today". I think that says it all. Tigger-Growlia, we have a long way to go to recover from this flu, to mourn those that have died and to rebuild the areas that have been devestated. We now know who our friends are and we will not forget. This has been a special report from TGNN.
