The Unsan missile complex, Taishan ranges... As the 23 SAC-HHT Halftracks trundled up the mountain road toward toward the missile complex, the commanding officer; Airforce Brigadier Jahan Shinwira spoke to all the troops aboard via intercom. The base grew closer, and the halftracks carried on toward the unwelcoming blast doors. They couldn't see it, but there were heavy anti tank guns aimed at each of the halftracks. A voice burst out onto the radio of the lead halftrack... "Unit 23G - present yourself - Unit 23G - Present yourself for the shift change..." As the convoy passed the perimeter defences Shinwira replied... "OK, it's us - we're here to take over" "Glad you could make it..." The blast doors groaned open, beyond that a long wide underground tunnel into the Unsan missile complex. Once inside, thirty troops dismounted from each of the transports as they pulled over to the side of the tunnel. Another brigadier came from a doorway at the side and gave a salute... "Shinwira... eh?... Havn't seen you around here"... "No, I'm new..." Snapped Shinwira, stepping to the doorway for a retina scan. "Well, my units will stand down at 1400 hours... you'll be in position by then?" "Yes, we'll all be settled in..." ------------------------------------ In total, 690 troops were now taking over command of the base - in a shift changing action. More forces would be along later, but for now the base had two large groups of troops in. Beyond the tunnel was the first court - where several helipads, an armoury and barracks were. A second tunnel now descended into the mountain, almost 2300 feet beneath the surface, here gigantic missile tubes housed fourteen SAC-Type 34 Pleiades ICBM nuclear missiles. These were incredibly dangerous - by means of a satellite (which was controlled from the base) they could strike anywhere - virtually undetectable by radar. All power was provided by geothermal means, from the magma underneath the Taishan plate. 8 FI-14E Helicopters were also stationed at the base, for light attack and troop transport, as well as several wheeled special mountain infantry SAC-EE11 armoured cars. 49 miles to the north, an Ide Jiman dispersal airfield provided any air support. ------------------------------------- 1415 hours... The halftrack convoy now descended the slope away from the doors, heading off down the mountain. As they stopped to allow the first to maneuvre around the anti tank obstacles, the base behind them suddenly let rip. A deadly salvo of over 40 anti tank rockets sped down from the base crashing into the convoy, blowing up 16 of the half tracks immediately (these were weapons designed for heavy tanks) leaving the rest in flames. The radio signal from the lead transport came back... "We're under attack... support required" Shinwira simply said "Sorry Comrade" before hanging up the speaking piece. About 20 troops made it out of the flaming halftracks in time, before they too exploded. Those survivors were immediately taken into captivity, whilst elsewhere the base sprung into activity. IT specialists accessed the base network, and began to start activating the rockets, meanwhile at the helipads, the FI-14E helicopters were moved out of the way for an approaching airborne group. A new voice started speaking on the radio... "Shinwira... are you there?" "Yes comrade... we have the missiles in our possession..." "Ok, make the world know..." ------------------------------- Transmission: To: All Nations of Europa From: ???????????? THE IDE JIMAN RED ARMY FACTION HAS SEIZED 14 ADVANCED ICBMS FROM THE MOD. UNLESS COMMUNIST ACTIVISTS AROUND THE WORLD ARE FREED IMMEDIATELY, SEVERAL MAJOR CITIES WILL FIND THEMSELVES ON THE RECEIVING END OF A NUCLEAR STRIKE. ------------------------------- Now Shinwira walked over to the window, in the distance - he could see several MH-47 and FI-53E helicopters approaching, bringing 300 more red troops and vital equipment to the base. It seemed impossible, but somehow, an entire unit of the Red Army Faction group had infiltrated one of the world's most advanced armies. Meanwhile in Serekan, the shock sank in...

These men would be the contingent to removed the Red Faction threat, and disarm the Missles. "Our Anti Ballistic Missle system is still 60% Complete. That leaves 40 of this nation vulnerable to attack. You," The general said smiling. "Are to kick the living sh*t out of the Communist pigs, who have taken over the property of Ide Jima. Our comrades in arms. Their militray was attacked, shamelessly, from behind. I want these terrorist scum gone." The group stood at attention, and said, "Hooah!" And then departed to gear up for thier mission. The transposts should reach the main land of Ide Jima within a day.

Ide Jima Posted February 5, 2006 Author Posted February 5, 2006 Shinwira was a fanatic, and, having read the message from Vanarambaion he carried on with his task, regardless of the lives of his troops. Already, several photoreconaissance units of the IJAF had been seen passing overhead, and Stormtrooper snipers had been spotted further down the mountain road. All this was making Shinwira impatient. He kicked over one of the fold up chairs in the control room and grabbed a technician... "Where's the satellite!?" "Over Upper Strathclyde... a few more hours until Serekan..." "Fire the missile now!" Shinwira was yelling, and he turned for the door... "It's not quite ready"... "You heard what I said, Fire it"... ---------------- Outside, the ground started to rumble, as the massive ICBM began to emerge from the mountainside. Further down, massive jets of fire and smoke erupted out of a blast tunnel. As the massive missile rose into the heavens, Shinwira breathed a sigh of relief... it was headed for it's target. What the technician had not said was that it was not completely fuelled, and by the time it was over US, it would have slowed down to the point where it could be knocked out of the sky by an ABM. "Hahaha, Now let's talk diplomacy!" Upper Strathyclyde Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 The scanners had picked up the inbound target, and it was slow enough, according to the advanced warning systems, to be knocked out. The CAW Centre, or Centre for Advanced Warning had been tracking the target, and thankfully it landed withing the zones protected by the now 70% complete ABM System. The Sickle Missle, the standard Anti Ballistic Projectile had been fueld, and launched. It was tracking the target, and thats when General Garak watched the display. "I hope your right on this system, if not, 12,000 People are going to die in that town." He said, staring as the missle was approaching the ABM Projectile. There was a brillant flash of bright light as the Projectile exploded, and it sent the incoming warhead careening off course. It soon landed with a resounding splash and subsequent explosion, off the coast of a large Lake. The Largest in the nation in fact. Quite harmless to the town. "Dispatch clean up crews there immediately. Lets wrap this up. Tell ONI They have the green light. Get them in Ide asap."

After reading it throughly, he decided it wouldn't be good to bomb it. Obviously, poeple tend to get angry when their property is bombed, but Aran isn't a bright fellow. He quickly sent a message to Nova Lorelei. Dear Ms. Lorelei, The country is tropical, and the allies and regiments 67-89 are in place. I feel it would be most unkind to bomb the nation, so i request we inform the intellegence so we can get definate coordinates on the Faction's HQ, and build a missle to at the very least scare them, and request the population to take shelter immediately. It took several weeks until everything was in place, but when it was, the ships quickly let out what it was carrying, and the battle on the Faction was inevitable.

"Our plan is in place, the 2nd Taishan company, along with the US ONI operatives will storm the blast tunnel, keeping things quiet - we also know the reds won't fire as the directing satellite is over ocean, so this route should be safe. Then we will disarm the missiles, by now it is likely we will be seen, so a second attack will come." "The 3rd centre company will scale the northern rockface and attack the open courtyard - we have several army aircorps AH-1Z attack helicopters for the job, this will divide the enemy in two. Further instructions will be relayed!... Everyone clear? Let's go!..." The troops began to move. To the north, the 3rd centre group were in place, and now, under cover of darkness the stormtrooper 2nd company and the US CRW experts headed for the blast tunnel. ---------------------- Thermal imaging was useless at this temperature. At around -23 degrees on these mountaintops (relatively warm) all that could be seen through thermal binoculars was a deep blue. Shinwira was cautious, as he knew this was a perfect opportunity for attack. On a scrambled signal phone, he was talking to somebody... "We suspect attack, conditions are perfect, we have reinforced the courtyard, and have massed troops in the first tunnel for a suspected frontal assault." "Good. If this should fail you know you have a friend to help you if you are captured" "Yes, comrade" "Good, I shall speak to you soon Maitomi" "Yessir" ---------------------------------- By now, the group had reached the bottom of the blast tunnel, the concrete was stained black, and the motion sensitive lasers had been knocked out by the last launch (A design fault in old Ide Jiman missile bases). As the group began to ascend, the smell of burning filled their nostrils, but still they moved forward. Once the top of the tunnel had been reached, they found themselves directly under a missile, in firing position. Three of the lead troops climbed out, further around the corridor, the shadows of two troops talking and smoking could be heard. Something rustled behind them... a man in a white coat at one of the consoles had seen them. He drew a pistol and yelled "ALA..." but was felled by a pistol shot between the eyes. The two troops darted around the corner. The two stormtroopers felled them, whilst another began helping US operatives and other comrades out of the hole. Moments later came the sound they had dreaded, the sound of the alarm - but victory was still possible...
