Stockholm - The national Parliament convenes today, to discuss the new upcoming elections to Prime Minister of the US. Members from the Conservative Bloc and the United US Alliance Bloc ( Social Democrat ) have put forth thier name in the running. Each party has a fair chance of winning, and the elections are set to take place tomorrow. The results should be in by Saturday.

The US Government remains firm in stating that the weapons it develops are a deterrent, and it is just as commited to peace, as the rest of Europa. Stockholm - The Prime Minister of Upper Strathyclyde, in one of his last addresses before the elections, announced a joint venture of Upper Strathyclyde and Orioni to launch twin probes to the Planet of Jupiter. It will take Decades to get the program started, but once it is complete, the mission is slated to begin Late April, Early May. It will take years just to reach the Red Giant. The Facilities being used will be converted to serve the TAMS II Vehicle, which will propel the InterGal Satellites into Jupiter orbit, to collect Life form data, or lack there of.

Oslo - The Nation's second largest city took part in official wargames, and deployed 4 new active Battalions of Regular Forces and Hundreds of Tanks. This is amidst the current wargames in the nearby city of Oslo. The Government is avowdly anti fascist and Anti-Intolerance. A spokesperson claimed to day that, 'The Government is trying to keep the peace, and prevent a panic of the Neo Nazi and Jewish communities, and to avert a large scale riot.'

Ordningspolisens Nationella Insatsstyrka units complete final Combat training before shipping out to engage terrorist forces, undercover in Ide Jima. Stockholm - The Government has authorised the use of deadly force, in the form of the Counter Terror Regiment of ONI, against the Red Army Faction of Ide Jima. These Terrorists are in possesion of 14, Highly dangerous Nuclear ICBM's, and since the ABM System is still 40% away from 100%, the US Government has decided to intervene, as its heavily capitalist national Ideology is at risk.

US Government - The people in Upper Strathyclyde were relieved when the Anti Ballistic Sickle Missle collided and blew off course the dangerous Nuclear warhead, launched by the Red Army faction of Ide Jima. The ABM Missle System, though 70% complete, was enough to thwart this cowardly attack. The ONI Units that were assigned to Ide Jima are expected to move in tommorrow.

"We are all on the brink of mankinds first true glimpse of outside life's potential existance" said a NSAD Technician Earlier before the Launch. Massive Military Spending Spike, New Air Force The New AMI .50 Multi Role Stealth Fighter Stockholm - The Military has placed an order for 50 AMI .50 Multi Role Tactical Stealth Fighter Bombers, and they are expected to be fully ready for deployment in 3 Years. The Government has also enlisted more troops, and produced more Tanks and Armoured Personell Carriers. Naval Units are being Constructed as well. Several US Hummvee's deploy to Mobilisation Checkpoints. Regualr US troops on a routine Patrol after increased patrol orders are given. They stand ready to intervene anywhere in Europa. Ordningspolisens Nationella Insatsstyrka Unit Preparing for Disembarkment Training. Stockholm - The Prime Minister announced this evening, that upper strathyclyde would commit its brave, and peace loving forces to prevent the out break of major engagements, and return stability to the war torn region of Hidaya Miliki, and to combat the spread of unrighteous and arrogant imperialistic annexation of territory all in the name of freedom and defense against the Xheng Regime. While the Prime Minister condemned both sides, he made it clear that as of now, there are no plans for the immediate invasion or occupation of any nation or territory, but stresses if things get further out of hand, such measures would surely be considered. He urges all parties to come to the peace talks, and come to the table to discuss this as men.

This plan calls for 3, 5- Year plans to achieve this goal. Vanarambaion Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 OOC: My nation can't even support a standing military of 500 million. Fully mobilized, Vanarambaion has less that 200 million, and hovers around 100 million much of the time. A good way to determine what you can handle is between 2.5% (peace-time/peacekeeping) to 4% (world war/invasion) of your population. Anything more than that starts to degrade your economy dangerously.

Upper Strathyclyde Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) Peace Rally Held to Support the Blue Status of Pirilao's Armed Forces Massive peace demonstration od Democracy Square, Stockholm Stockholm, Democracy Square - A massive, 3,000 People gathering to support the standing down of Pirilao's Armed forces, and to show Solidarity for all peace loving nations, was held this evening, and is expected to last all weekend. A large Rock Concert is going to be held, and a speech is to be given by the Prime Minister himself. Foreign Dignitaries are encouraged to attend. Donations are also set up by the US Red Cross chapter for the Flu Epidemic in Tigger Growlia. A suggested $5 Donation is requested, but if your heart asks for more, please give generously. This exercisise will serve both nations, and provide much needed training for both US and Reka Armed Forces.

Oslo - A large explosivbe device has gone off this afternoon, at the National Revenue Service, NRS, Headquarters in Oslo. A massive explosion destryed 3/4 of the NRS Building, which houses over 500 Government employees, including a daycare center. Many speculate as to wether this was a right wing terror group, or a radical religous group. There is currently very little to disclose, as the government is keeping things down until a Formal investigation takes place. The death toll is already over 60 OPeople dead, and 102 Injured. More to come as it comes in...

To reiterate, we will be sending 10,000 tulips for a memorial garden, along with the head of the Rekamgil Horticultural Association to help design a new garden. Now that we have seen more details, we announce that our Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Nayr Aquilini, will be flying immediately to Stockholm to see what this government can do to help and, if possible, if we can assist in the investigation. The Secretary of the Interior has already launched an internal investigation within Rekamgil to ascertain whether there is any Rekamgillian link to this terrorist attack. While in Stockholm, Secretary Aquilini will attend the peace rally celebrating Pirilao's stand-down. All of Rekamgil stands with you. This nation is going through some tough times, and some of our citizens for some reason, feel the need to take radical violent outburts, upon our innocent Civilians. There is no repression of political freedoms. We allow as much, or as little demonstrations as any citizen feels they want. There is simply no excuse for this disgusting and vile act.
Rekamgil Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 After hearing of the terrible news, this government sprang into action, initiating a nation-wide investigation. Wire-taps were set also and, as a result of one of these, the DOR Police Service has apprehended two suspected terrorist collaborators. DOR SWAT Moves In Extradition hearings have begun and the government assures the public that their return to Upper Strathyclyde will be speedy. More information to be made available as it becomes known.
