Ylania Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (from the front page of The Ylanian Chronicle) Council Increases Military Budget by Mearida Sylario Due to an increasing concern from the people regarding the possibility of war or invasion, the Ylanian Council has decided to allocate a portion of the national budget to the military. These funds will be used to train and equip the nation's armed forces, in perparation for any sort of attack on Ylania. "Though it is best to be prepared for any sort of conflict," states council member Juliana Keru, "we hope that we will not have to send our troops to battle". The Ylania Military Division is now asking willing citizens to sign up as new recruits. Military service will not be required of anyone, but there will be incentives for those who volunteer. No details have currently been released regarding what exactly the new recruits will recieve as incentives. In conjunction with this move, The Ylanian Council is now offering an alliance to all nations in Europa. "We cannot yet offer any significant support in terms of soldiers or equipment" says General Vasurei. "We can, however, provide exceptional medical supplies and services. That should at least keep their men going for a bit longer." On a related note, engineers at Mechatronix Labs have now begun researching a new form of weaponry. Affectionately called the Stun Gun, the modified rifle is designed to shoot a small bullet-sized device that, on imapct, releases an electrical charge large enough to knock a person unconscious. Research began after a recent debate on whether it should be legal to carry guns in public. The product was designed to replace a regular firearm as a non-lethal alternative, in cases where killing the target is not required. One member of the design team quipped that, unfortunately, the product "can't be set from stun to kill".

We are also able to take orders for standard military equipment as our export manufacturies are up and running.

While we?re not that skilled at war, we do have brains, and my nation?s willing to share our vast knowledge with you, if only you swear that you?ll give us a help with healthcare-- after all, word is that your nation excels in healthcare, and that?s surely interesting for my povo. How?s that? We could also lower the taxes of trade between our countries. How?s that? We help you in education and in research, and you?ll help us with medical technology and healthcare. Feel free to accept our decline this offer... but i DO have to say that an alian?a between our nations would be the best thing ever-- or second, if my birthday counts to your nation as well.

Claro, the taxes would only be lowered between a certain amount of time, but if you say so, i won?t dare to say otherwise. But i feel really happy that your nation liked the idea of us helping you with education and research, and i can ensure that my angry cidad?os waiting in hospital lines are going to almost cum in their pants thanks to your nation?s help. You have our eternal gratitude, and if, for some reason, we get angry at your great nation, please remind our people of the great help that you?re giving to us. It is our wish that the current peace in Europa be kept, for the benefit of all. In fact, we hope that our military equipment can be left unused. However, we must be prepared for the worse conditions. Again, we are only interested in defense.
