Elections in TCN

[The Chosen Nations]

TCN is now in the grip of "Election Fever". These are only the second elections since the nation was made into a Democracy (is was previously a Monarchy)(OOC: and will be again) With only a few weeks until the polls are open TCNC takes a look at the parties involved, and how the election will be carried out.

 

The Parties standing are:

 

The Chosen Jingshu Party (Currently in Power)

The Chosen Fatherist Party (Fatherist)

The Chosen Monarchy Party (Pledges to revert TCN to a Monarchy)

The Chosen Peoples' Party (Communist)

The Chosen Freedom Party (Pledges to remove power of the State on peoples lives)

 

The Method:

 

Every person aged 30 or above takes a number of exams. These make sure only the sutable people can vote. These exams test the the potential voter can read, write, has an IQ above 115, and has medium-high reasoning skills. Only when all exams are passed does the individual have the right to vote. After this comes the voting: each voter has one vote, and the Party with the most votes after all the votes are counted will hold office over all TCN. Under the current system the winning partly will hold power for a maximum of 7 years, but the party can call a general election at any time.

OOC: Similar to the older voting rights. Everyone can vote... so long as you're over thirty, own land, not a woman, not mad etc.

Ide Jima supports the Chosen Monarchy Party and will take measures to see either that or the Freedom Party come to power. A communist or Fatherist government this close to Ide Jiman soil is unacceptable.

Welcome to the TCNN coverage of The Elections in TCN. *The identification music begins to play* It has been a close run process for many weeks, and now we are only minuits away from discovering which party will rule TCN. Each party has very different ideoligies, and will shape TCN in many different way. The Chosen Fatherist Party is the newcommer of the group, but has managed to whips up incredible amounts of support. The Chosen Monarchy Party pledges to take TCN back to it's previous system; which - surprisingly - seems to have a lot of support. Wait...we can now cross live to the MRA where the announcement is taking place.

 

 

A man is standing behing a podium, with his notes. Behind his is a big screen with the names of all the parties:

"I have the results of The Chosen Election 2005

 

In 5th Place with 5% of the vote is The Chosen Peoples' Party

In 4th Place with 9% of the vote is The Chosen Freedom Party

In 3rd Place with 12% of the vote is The Chosen Jingshi Party"

 

At his point T'Yay let out a sigh of despiration...he was no longer to be leader of TCN. The announcer continued...

 

"In 2nd Place with 36% of the vote is The Chosen...*everybody drew their breath*..The Chosen Monarchy Party."

Almost everyone in the audience let out a groan of disbelief

 

"And in 1st Place with 38% of the vote is The Chosen Fatherist Party."

 

The Fatherist Officials were jumping up and down. Everyone else was stunned. A few minuits had passed and the announcer walked onto the stage.

 

"There has been a mistake with the counting of votes from Themis. I now have the revised results:

 

In 5th Place with 6% of the vote is The Chosen Peoples' Party

In 4th Place with 8% of the vote is The Chosen Freedom Party

In 3rd Place with 12% of the vote is The Chosen Jingshi Party

In 2nd Place with 36% of the vote is.........The Chosen Fatherist Party

In 1st Place with 38% of the vote is The Chosen Monarchy Party"

 

"There you have it ladies and gentlemen, The Chosen Monarchy Party has won the closest election in the history of TCN. This has been a TCNN broadcast."

Ivon sat in his office watching the results with his advisors on the TCN elections. when the first result was given he jumped into the air, but just in his joy, the announcement was made about the mistake and the real result was called.

with that Ivon turned around, and at the same time draw a Mac 10 from a holster.

Ivon sprayed the room with bullets untill all advisors were dead.

 

 

***Federation Statement***

 

we are diopointed about the result of the elections, as our support was pleged to the Fatherist party. none the less we congradulate The Chosen Monarchy Party, and wish them a good term.
