With impressive rapidity the wealth of the exiles was paying for the construction of a new metropolis. Zones and transportation networks had been laid out and several refugee tent encampments had been relocated to future suburbs. At the heart was being constructed a large plaza, to be surrounded by the buildings of government. At it's centre was a new cathedral (see signature image to left) which was soon to be consecrated in a ceramony to which the Tagmatine Orthodox Patriarchs had been invited as representatives of a sister church. Opposite was a blue glass tower, a memorial to the glories of the nation left behind. The Arch of the Sun, a massive aluminium structure had been completed at the third point of a triangle, celebrating the birth of a new dawn in Nevareion Nova. Elsewhere other regional capitals were in progress, each to be the heart of an estate ruled by one of the Great Houses. In the countryside massive factory farms were being built, this being a high priority to make the nation self sufficient in food. "In other news today the Council-in-Exile announced the selection of a site for the construction of a new prototype fusion power plant. The exact site was not specified but is thought to be in the uplands in the north as it will require large damns to provide a heat sink lake."

Our stockmarket is to be opened to foreign investment shortly after it is completed and the systems tested. We hope to see Ide Jiman companies listing themselves on it in the future if our plans to ensure a low regulation and low tax economy meet their requirements. The Council-in-Exile has indicated that companies of nations achieving trusted trade partner status will be extended grants and tax incentives to take advantage of our skilled workforce and high unemployment that is currently holding wages at an unprecedent low level. It is hoped that this will bring about inward investment as Akiiryan multinationals seek to take advantage of the excellent trading situation in our nation. With employment a high priority the Council-in-Exile has said it is seeking to become a cheap source of manufacturing capacity in the region.

Haken Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 (edited) IN the meantime the HR regiment is conducting building operations on the northern part of Nea Nevareia. They are supported with heavy construction vehicles and experienced engineers. None the less the progress isn't going as fast as planned, because the engineers aren't used to work on this kind of terrain type and the constant lack of manpower for such a large project. The technicians, co-operating with Tagmatians, make fair time and it seems that they are going to be ready with the basics a few days after the first deadline. Nevareion Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 -News- In a further statement today the Ministry of Technology announced that the new Prototype Fusion Reactor was to be made a high priority as a means of securing a long term domestic power supply. In order to do so external contractors are to be used. At present it is reported that an Akiiryan company has won the contract to build the structure and a team of Akiiryan scientists and engineers are expected onsite in the near future. The Ministry did state that the assistance of other nations may be sought provided they cleared security checks and were working in non-sensitive areas.

It would be our pleasure to ship a large working force, engineers and machines over, but such an operation isn't manageable with our budget. If Nevareion Nova is willingly to pay a part of the costs, we can assure you that yor citizens will be much sooner in a soft bed. We require construction of the dam to our specifcations. Time is of the essence as we wish to advance the project rapidly in order to provide power to our future cities. We are prepared to pay material and labour costs plus 10% if you can construct the dam within two years. Overrun will see payment reduced to material and labour costs only. Estimated cost is $155million with total payment to be $170.5million for delivery on time. Will Stantang Heavy Engineering Group be able to commit to this timetable?

IC The Finance Ministry today announced that the electronic trading system for the Nevareies stock market is now fully opperational. Despite lacking a permanent structure for the market as a physical entity the council-in-Exile has pressed forward with opening a so-called virtual market. Traders will be able to participate in the stockmarket by remote link and a centralised mass video conferencing link. Mebredarn Technologies Ltd. the patent holder for the Virtual MarketTM announced that market nodes could be set up in Trusted Trade Partner (TTP) nations if they requested it. Economists have widely praised the virtual market initiative as a way of kickstarting the economy without the need for physical facilities and the first day of trading saw a rush by the Great Houses to register a variety of companies. Early trading has mostly been in construction industry shares and the futures market. The Nevareion Nova Market Consortium, a joint stock company set up by the state to own the market have announced that it will be known as the Nevdaq will be seeking connection to foreign markets as soon as possible. It has also indicated that companies from TTPNations will be allowed to list themsleves as of next week.

These roads roughly follow old Ide Jiman routes, cutting expenses significantly. Total price should be two billion. We are willing to pay for the bridges to the Ide Jiman mainland: Also marked is the proposed position of a collant resevoir. Another option would be to build it in the form of an underground cistern, but this has two disadvantages: 1) It is much more expensive 2) Scope for using the reservoir as a hydroelectric plant as backup is narrowed drastically. Total dam cost (if you are interested) is yet to be calculated.

We propose a ten year programme with an initial six year programme for concrete road beds to be completed and a second four year period to upgrade the road beds to metalled roads. This will give us a useable network as fast as possible. Is this acceptable? With regard to the proposed bridges, we propose a rail tunnel, to be built where you suggest the western bridge, to be jointly funded and operated. Vehicles would be transported by train and passenger trains would also run. [OOC]think channel tunnel We would like a quote for the dam you suggest but assume that indicated on your map is indicative (it would be huge ) and we will provide the location seperately.
