The Commissariat of Ulrichland

Recommended Posts

Greetings and well met,

It's been a while since I joined the region and I just though to register with the forum now, to see what's going on, to do my part, etc. . I registered with the place a long time ago, though initially dismissed the idea. I guess my opinion changed by now.

I've been playing nationstates for quite some time now. I used to RP in the "European Union" for a while, though after several "incidents" thanks to retarded users (e.g. the Soviet Union and some of his "friends") the whole place turned into a flame pit and I no longer could be bothered to waste my time with such a bunch of ... enough of this.

My nation used to be a rather authoritarian republic, though I'm currently trying to make it a bit more moderate/ centrist and less facists. Thanks to a arms race with the Soviet Union in the European Union I wrought havoc on my environment and my government spending. I fear it'll take me ages to switch my most important government concerns from defence, law/order to some more useful things. Not to mention cleaning up my environment - or what is left of it - will take a long time.

Oh well, we all grow with the challenges we must face I guess.

I enforce a strict endorsement policy. I do NOT endorse un-democratic regimes. Though I also abstain from pushing people around, a fair chance for everyone. It's not my job to tell people how they should run their countries.

I haven't made up my mind about my "roleplaying nation" yet. I'd need some information on rules, setting, history, etc. first. Though I'm not that eager to rpg again right now, maybe in the near future. I'll just lean back and watch you folks to see how things work here. wink.gif

Okay, I guess I'd tell a bit about myself. I'm from Germany (Bavaria to be precise), 25 years old and I work as a security/ safety services specialist trainee. I studied three years at the university (politcal sciences and modern history) though I never earned a degree (yeah, you're right, I'm a drop-out). In my free time I enjoy reading (mostly SciFi, the military kind, though I do read other themes too), history and politics, sports, cooking and wargaming. I'm addicted to (global) news and spend considerable time every day to read newspapers, listen/ watch TV/ radio news, etc. .

Well, that's all people. Dismissed! smile.gif

Hello, and welcome to the forum, rather than the region! biggrin.gif

I've also been changing how my nation's run recently, moving it away from the "Democratic Socialist" side, towards the "Dictatorship", although I dislike the "Corrupt" prefix. This is mainly to reflect that Tagmatium isn't democratic, people only vote when the current Holy Emperor dies or retires, and then he/she will appoint government officals. Large parts of the nation are governed by military governors, strategoi.

Sounds like we have a lot in common.

How nice to see you (re)joined the forum.

With the end of summer coming near, it looks like activity is on the increase again.
