It was announced today that units from the paramilitary Royal Akiiryan Mounted Police (RAMP) have occupied the shores of the Inland Sea in plots 51 and 52 in response to repeated clashes between Akiiryan trappers and the native peoples. The aim of this deployment is not, at this stage, the annexation of these territories, but rather to stop criminal elements and trappers from Akiiryu illegally interferring with the lives of the native peoples in the area. Talks have started with the leaders of different tribal groups over trade concessions and the possibility of them accepting Akiiryan protection.

 

The Akiiryan government has said it will welcome both observers and peace officer exchanges from other nations who wish to learn the RAMP's methods and to inspect the operation.

 

OOC: I don't really want to claim all of either 51 or 52 at this stage, rather I am working towards incorporating c. 1cm (on the map) out from the shoreline ( measuring from the furtherest it juts into land) of territory from both plots into Akiiryu when I reach the magic 1 Billion.

We looked forward to your arrival and hope that both of our nations can benefit from this exchange. You will be meet at Nimarci International Airport by RAMP liasion personel who will then transport you to your hotel in the city. The following day will be left for you to recover from your flight. That evening a reception will be held in your honour at the Robjuth Monastery. Unfortnately the prince will be unable to attend. The next two days will be fulled with briefings for your staff and security personal before we travel to the plots. While in the protected areas we will attached RAMP personel to your party who will act and guides and translators. Please do not consider this an insult, you will not be barred from any meetings or instalations in the area. You will also recieved daily briefings and a chance to meet with the tribe members of your choice. We hope this meets your requirements.

 

Please be aware, however, whilst were are honoured by your support we are not expanding into these territories at this time. Rather we are merely securing the rights of the native peoples against criminal elements within Akiiryu. These lands are under the RAMP's protection and nothing more. This is not to say, however, that we will reject a request by native peoples of these territories to join Akiiryu.

It has been announced that earlier today units of the paramilitary Royal Akiiryan Mounted Police moved into plot 55. They were accompanied by a number of survey teams from the Kaimona Mining Corperation and paleological teams from the University of Nimarci. Vessels from the Royal Akiiryan Coast Guard are also said to be operating off the coast of plot 55 in concert with a number of research vessels from Nitonae University.

 

At this time there has been no word from the Akiiryan government as to its intentions in plot 55, although there are widely circulated rumours that the Sublime Principate will annex the plot in the near future.

 

OOC: I see plot 55 is an unhabited desert red rock environment (think the Alberta Badlands and Utah), any objections?

Today the Baronic Council of Akiiryu officially announced the annexation of plot 55 to the Sublime Principate of Akiiryu.

 

Soon after the announcement a large number of pieces of heavy machinery from the oil extraction corperation PetroKata were seen to cross the board and head west. PetroKata is a government owned corperation. This movement was accompanied by military units.

 

The University of Nimarci has announced the discovery of large fossil deposits in the south eastern corner of the plot. The Baronic Council is currently considering the possibility of designating the area a natural hertiage park and has invited scholars from Vanarambaion, Ide Jima, Union of Socialist Tribes of Europa, and Niederoestereich to join Akiiryan researchers in their exploration of the area.

 

Results of Nitonae University's oceanographic surveys have yet to be released, although intial reports hint an the existance of large natural gas reserves in the area.

In a ceremony attended by the Prince, members of the Baronic Council and a large number of high ranking military officials The Royal Akiiryan Navy (R.A.N.) launched its newest capital ship today, the Oceanus. Described by naval news releases as both the next generation in naval warfare technology, and a vessel that will allow the Akiiryan Navy to retain it position as one of the most potent naval forces in Europa, this Titan class battleship is equiped with a number of impressive defensive and offensive weapons technologies - many of which still remain classified - as well as a number of stealth capabilities. Despite being heavily armoured (OOC: Akiiryu follows Soviet naval protocols, not US/UK naval protocols in this regard), the nuclear powered Oceanus is said to be capable of impressive speeds. She is also known to be capable of carrying five helicopters.

 

The R.A. N. has stated the Oceanus will be made the flag ship of the Sublime Principate's Southern Fleet once she has completed her shake down tour.

 

The R.A.N is currently building two more Titan class battleships.
