Right, in response to some people's wishes, and in order to make RPing fairly a bit easier, i have created this thread for people to post information about their militery here. So for example, this thread will contain information that will prevent RP mistakes in the future,

so for example, in the ''Explosion in Sevrun' thread, recently Ide Jima launched an air raid on Ide Jima, only to be told afterwards that Sevrun had extensive AA batteries, and many of Ide Jimas aircraft would not have gotten through. If this info had been avalable in the first place, this mistake would have never been made, and the RP would have continued well.

 

So list what your opponants would know when they are IC, and also things that they should be aware of OOC in order not to make mistakes such as in Ide Jima's case above.

 

(I don't have time to list Philia's tonight, but i will post it either tomorrow or the day after)

 

Oh, and can you ONLY post these lists here please, no comments or conversations, i want this kept simply as a single clean list, for easier reference, if anyone posts more than once in here, thier second post will either be deleted or merged with their previous one.

The Ide Jiman armed forces contain a huge number of different branches. Spending is strongest in the airforce at the moment, which is undergoing massive change. Total frontline strength is 6.35 million, but current expansion programs will recruit another 700,000 frontline troops in the coming year. The main overall strength of the Ide Jiman armed forces is in the air and defending the air. The army is also very well trained (using a training regime similar to that of the british army).

 

Weaknesses of the Ide Jiman army would be the inability to launch all out war quickly. Mobilisation would take a very long time, and in this period the nation would rely on marines and active army units for defense. Another weakness is the unwieldy size of formations in the army, This problem has been resolved in the marine corps, and will be out of the way in a matter of months, as the old army fronts are split into rapid reaction groups.

Tagmatine Armed Forces branches:

 

People's Guard. Standard infantry forces. Each soldier is armed with a SPTN-1 .280 assault rifle and a TKN-1 9mm pistol. Wear light body armour and distinctive Tagmatine helmet. Squads (9 soldiers and one sergeant) are have one trooper with a KTRN-1 .280, whilst sections (3 squads and one lieutenant) have a trooper with a HGM. There are sniper squads with Falx-1 .280 sniper's rifles. Infantry battalions number 700 soldiers, 70 to a company, with a captain and two lieutenants to each. A battalion also has two majors and a lieutenant colonel.

 

-Trapezitae, mechanised infantry. Strictly speaking, still part of the People's Guard. Same equipment as standard infantry.

 

-Caballarii. Again, really part of the People's Guard. Use all sorts of tanks, from MBTs to Light Tanks. Armed with standard infantry equipment, apart from PRMRN-1 carbine, which replaces SPTN-1 assault rifle.

 

-Holy Imperial Artillery Corps. Part of the People's Guard. Use all types of artillery, from field guns to self-propelled guns to the large, fixed guns of the fortresses of Scutum, Gorytos and Petrium.

 

Cataphracts. Mounted in MBTs, they form a seperate section of the armed forces. Wear heavy body armour on arms and thighs as well as bodies. Equiped with PRMRN-1 as well as BDKN-375 magnum. Some times fight dismounted from tanks as heavy infantry.

 

Holy Imperial Guard. Armed as standard infantry, they also have a ceremonial role as body guards of the Holy Emperor. Also maintain MBTs, light tanks and APC's. Wear heavy body armour on shins and lower arms.

 

Holy Imperial Household Guards Emperor's ?lite, personal body guard. Rarely deployed into combat situations, unless Emperor himself is in trouble. Mainly have a ceremonial role. They were similar armour to Cataphracts, except that it is black. Their uniform is bright red.

 

The GHET has no special forces or parachute units to speak of.

 

Holy Imperial Airforce. They maintain all aircraft in the Tagmatine armed forces, apart from the fleet air arm and People's Guard ground attack helicopters and troop helicopters.

 

Holy Imperial Navy. Tagmatine navy, they maintain all naval shipping. Naval Guard part of them.

 

-Naval Guard. Armed as standard infantry, they are the GHET's marines. Part of the Holy Imperial Navy, rather than a seperate force.

Army:

The Caldari State has a well-trained and deadly army which is able to do combat anything in any envioment. Their primary weaponry include the DC-6, the DC-8 and the DC-10 Blaster Rifles and they will used their other gizmos and gagets given to them to stop the enemy at all costs. They are supported by HERC's (of the Minotaur and Artemis-Class), walkers and advanced tanks. The Elite Soldiers are part of ether the Presidental Guard or the Caldarian Legionaries. Their are also several divisions of the Caldari State Army which include the Seatroopers, the Snowtroopers, Spacetroopers, the DesertCorps. Currently their are over 50 Legions so the army consists of roughly 3 million men are in the army at this time. The Cheif Executives Panel has begun the debate over allowing the unemployed into the armed forces, if this is accpeted the number in the army will be twenty fold, swelling to at least 20 million in the army. no answer at this time on weather is is to happen or not.

 

Space Navy:

The Caldari Navy is the bulk of the armed forces. They have more battleships than any other fleet and the average age of the Caldari ships is considerably less. This is because the Caldari are constantly replacing their oldest ships with newer ones, with better hi-tech equipment. The strategic doctrine of the Caldari Navy is simple: to be able to defeat any other navy in the world. Most experts believe it is. The Pride of the Caldari Navy is the Titan-Class Destroyer which is the most powerful ship in service today as it is armed with Graviton, Kyon and Polorian Cannons as well as Exocet Anti-Fighter missile launchers. So far their are appoximately 100 Titan-Class Destroyers in service at this moment, but the Ministry of War plans on manufacutrig more to replace some of the more older battleships in the fleet. At this moment, their are at least 4000 Capital Ships in active duty along with an huge number of support ships, frigates and corvettes. Over 50 million men work in the navy.

 

Caldari Secert Service:

The Caldari Secert Service is the Intellegence Arm of the Ministry of War as they have spies everywhere and eyes in most nation's internal archives. The CSS is eluivese and they are the masters of concelment and spying. The Scimitar Very Heavy Fighter is used by the Caldari Secert Service to infiltrate, secure and if need be quickly to dominate in hostile situations.

The Home Guard:

The Home Guard is reponsable for protecting corporate intrests all over the State as they protect Caldari Sectors from pirates and terrorists. The Home Guard have their presence seen planetside as well as in space. Guardsmen used the standard army blaster rifle (DC-6) and the AA-1 riot stun blaster rifle if situiation calls for it. Their presence in space can be seen in their modified Condor Frigates and the now and again Moa Cruisers. The Home Guard is the major police force in the Caldari State, although the megacorporations (except the Kaalaikoita Corporation, who control the Home Guard) all have their own security and police arm. Roughly 2 Million are in the Home Guard at this moment.

 

Presidental Guard:

The Presidental Guard is one of the most elite groups of the armed forces and they have sworn to protect the President with their lives. These Guardsman used modified DC-6A Blaster Rifles. When the President is not on the Capitalworld, he is escorted at all times by the Presidential Guard. They fly in their own modifed Swiftdeath Starfighters which are the most advanced and they have exteremly good armament for such a small fighter. They are a small branch of the armed forces but the most loyal of them all, over 100,000 work in the President's guard.

 

Caldari Terra Forces:

The Terra Forces are the Caldari State's special Earth forces and are in the middle of being retrofitted and renovated. This is this force include 3 sub-branches, the Terra Wing (Air Force), the Terra Navy (Surface Navy) and the TerraGuard (Army). The Terra Forces make up about 25 to 40 Missile Cruisers, 20 Destroyers and 3 Intruder Aircraft Carriers for the Terra Navy. The Pride of the Navy is the Dominator-Class Dreadnaught and only 2 are existance at this time. The Dominator is the forefront of the Terra Navy and is very powerful. The Terra Wing is made up of 60 to 150 Swiftdeath Atmospheric Fighters in 3 different wings, one for each aircraft carrier and 20 to 75 Advanced Stealth Fighters. They also control an elite bombing squad known as the 210th. Appoximately 500,000 men are deployed in the Terra Forces.

The Niederoestereichian defence force focus most of the spending into the Army. Although the Niederoestereichian military may not contain the latest and greatest tech, the training programmes and officer training greatly enchance available tech. Pure, basic solidering is taught without having to rely on technology. In warzones, all ranks attend briefings, including cooks, as so if the officers are taken out, the force can carry on sufficiently

TCAF (The Chosen Armed Forces), is currently concerned with homeland security, and defence of our homeland. TCAF would find it expensive, but not impossible to mount a mass overshore operation. TCAF conscripts civilians, and has them places in TCHG (The Chosen Home Guard). TCAF is split into 5 main branches:

 

The Chosen Land Division

 

TCN put a lot of funding into TCLD, and it is equipped with much of the latest tecnology. There are multiple mechanised divisions, and scout regiments. TCN provides its soldiers with extensive training, and most are well trained. TCLD relies on intelligent, and skilled officer to command troops, as the required skills are not taught to the grunts. There are no conscripts in TCLD, all men are volunteers, but many volunteer into TCHG.

The Chosen Navy (TCNa)

 

TCNa revieves little funding compared to TCLD, and TCAiF. It has few ships, but a medium sized amount of submarines and about 5 aircraft-carriers. As TCNa is so small it contains few troops, few admin staff, and is hardly worth mentioning. TCNa is almost never used in confilct, and is only used for Seabourn Air Attack Platforms for TCAiF

 

The Chosen HomeGuard (TCHG)

 

TCHG is almost entirly a conscript force. It's only concernes are law-and-order, and acting as a reserve force for the rest of TCAF. It is a large force, but nowhere near as well trained as the rest of TCAF, a weak opponent for a large trained army.

 

The Chosen Special Forces (TCSF)

 

These are the most secret part of TCAF. Their tasks are similar to the SAS of the UK. They are well trained and experts on recon, infiltration and sabotage. They are small in number but huge in skill. They are also skilled in assasination of key targets, defence of key targets...etc...

OOC: I realize that Europa is not on the same level of tech as the State but I never plan on using the space navy in the time I'm Rp'ing in Europa, if Tzen (FAN's other Superpower) were to attack me, then you may see that, but thats unlikely. I'm using mostly the Terra Forces stated above and they are using completely new weapon that of the 21st century and not say the 23rd or so century.

Ide Jima's army consists of army groups and reaction corps. The army groups are commanded by Marshals, with generals as commanders of the reaction corps. The Ide Jiman army in peace time has an active force of 4 Army groups, 15 reaction corps

The Ide Jiman Naval Infantry Corps

 

This large force of troops conducts infantry missions for the navy ? in many ways it is similar to the British Royal Marine Commandos. There are 42000 Naval Infantry, they are highly trained, and have 500 heavy tanks as support. There are no Naval Infantry logistics as of yet, the corps uses navy logistical support ? but the MOD is exploring the idea of ?fighting logistics?. The tasks of the NI Corps include:

 

- Manning Naval Coast Guns

- River Monitoring

- Special Ops.

-Ship Clearance/ Searching

 

The NI Corps is far more highly trained than the marines, but are far more secretive. Main bases are in:

The Ide Jiman Marine Corps

 

Currently there are 590 000 Marines and 2 million Support & Logistics personell in the Ide Jiman Marine Corps, which acts as an independent armed forces branch. The IJMC retains fast action deployment ? being used as the initial striking object in a conflict. A large air wing gives the marines the ability to provide air support in larger conflicts which are closer to home than Deltannia

Ballistic Missile Defense

 

The Ballistic Missile Defense of the Ide Jiman military are several sites positioned around

 

important cities and areas. The mission of these sites are to stop any incoming ballistic

 

missile and bombs that the enemy attempt to drop on Ide Jima. Their exact locations and table of

 

organization are classified information, with only the General Staff holding the ability to access. The only open deployment of ABM forces is around Seikan naval base.
