  1. After decades of deforestation and misuse of the lands much of Hodrea had become desolate plains. Farmers for years had tried to tame these hot empty lands, but after the loss of so much of the natural vegetation no amount of irrigation and could save the old farmlands that weren't already close to a river. The land had been dying for years, and food imports had been keeping Hodrea alive. With the rise and fall of the Sentists however any semblance of organized farming had almost completely collapsed. Millions had died in the struggle, and this had left thousands of farms without their farmers. Almost as bad though were the desolate cities. A dozen major cities had been heavily impacted by the conflict, none more so than Liechnenfax. The once massive urban sprawl which had stretched far across the land, holding many a slum in it were nothing more than burnt ruins. The Sentist attack had first destroyed the center of the city and what modern building they had, but what had been far worse was the fires. As the Sentists had retreated they burned through the city, so intensely that firestorms had appeared through the destruction only hastening the spread of the fires. Through the hell that the Sentist attack had spawned, two million Liechnfaxers had died. And the majority of the population had fled, leaving the city nothing but an ash filled ruin. But there was hope. Through the fires Coalition naval crews had left the safety of their ships and fought the fires on the ground. The centered their efforts around the great Liechnenfax Cathedral and the dockyards. Through their efforts they managed to secure a section of the city three quarters of a mile from the docks. However the defenders could do nothing more than watch in horror as the rest of Liechnenfax burned away. Now after over a year the Sentists were gone. The Coalition forces had swept their decrepit armies away leaving a scarred country. Millions had died but many more millions remained. Never before had Seylos taken on a humanitarian project of this scale, but the Seylosian were determined to not let Hodrea fail. Cargo ships came into the Liechnenfax dockyards by the dozens delivering endless tons of life saving supplies. It didn't end there as supplies from Ostros came in from the east as NAU nations contributed their own stock to supporting the Hodrean people's in their time of need. For the Seylosians, reconstruction was a point of national pride, and a way to atone for the sins of the past. Many nations would raise armies for occupation, while Seylos sent farmers, engineers, and doctors. Despite the tribulations the Hodrean people were not broken. The Hodrean Provisional Government under Derren Werner, the Major who had fought with Seylosian forces to push back the Sentists. The Hodrean Militia throughout the war had gained strength and had the luck few occupying armies had, not fighting a major resistance. People just wanted peace, and while the specter of Sentist remnants still existed, their people did not fight against them. ----------- In the town of Bayreuth, Ranger Hayden Eckhardt sat on a chair outside on the town's larger shops keeping watch. In the north, the Seylosians kept order, but in the south it was a job for the Hodrean Rangers. There was little law out here, and the people who were left looked to the Rangers to stop the rogue criminals and Sentists who roamed the lands. Eckhardt's Rangers had arrived two days prior after the call was put out. Remnant Sentists had taken to roving the countryside near the southern border, taking the opportunity to flee into the Sentist State before the Militia could track them down. The Rangers had taken a different approach, keeping their ears to the ground trying to figure out where they would strike next. They had found out these remnants had actually come from Bayreuth, and the people who made it up had a past with the townspeople. Mostly made of outcasts they had made life in the town hell during the occupation, but like the cowards they were fled when the Coalition forces swept through the region cleaning out the Sentists. With all the armies gone, they had come back, picking at what was left and apparently to wreak more havoc on these people's lives. Of course this time they wouldn't get the chance. His second in command, Cal Benedikt, walked up to him dangling his radio in his hand. "Kapitän, they are coming right on schedule." Eckhardt groaned as he stood up, grabbing his rifle,"Lass uns gehen. Gather everyone." The group of ten Rangers gathered near the center of town before heading out. Each one had been a veteran of the war and did not look on the Sentists kindly. Standing at their front Ekhardt silently motioned them all forward as they left the town when darkness had become to set. -- The remnant Sentists had set up camp just a few miles outside of the city. All in all there were around thirty of them and they had decided to throw themselves a small party for the loot they'd be taking the next day. They had nothing to fear after all, no Seylosians and no Militia were patrolling near them, and it wasn't like the townspeople could stop them either. They had lit a campfire and had taken to celebrating, drinking and causing a general ruckus. Their camp laid inside a gully carved out long ago by mountain waters. Their revelry was short lived however. Their drunken leader, man seemingly in his late thirties had stood up with bottle in his hand intent on addressing his misbegotten band of raiders. As he raised his bottle a single crack was heard as a bullet slammed into his chest knocking him backwards and onto the ground. What followed was mayhem. Sentist cried out in shock running for their weapons as the Rangers, who had silently gotten into position around their camp, opened fire on their vulnerable enemies. Within moment a third of their number had been cut down by the rifle fire. The survivors scrambled to find cover under the withering fire. Pinned down with nowhere to go the Sentist tried their best to defend their position, even holding the Rangers at bay for a moment until their grenades began to find their mark against the men huddled behind the sparse cover. It was over in about twenty minutes. The Rangers cautiously stood from their positions and silently made their way into the gully. Ekhardt stepped over the bodies of dead Sentists as he surveyed the scene. A single sentist was crawling on his back away from struggling to pull up a pistol with his wounded arm. "Verräter! When we come back you'll be the first-" Ekhardt swiftly raised his rifle and fired a round directly into the man's head. His body went limp, dropping the pistol he had tried to hard to raise up again. Benedikt approached from behind taking stock of the scene, "No survivors Kapitän. Amery took a bullet to the arm, she should be fine." "Gut," Ekhardt replied, "Gather as much as they stole, we'll be taking it back to Bayreuth."

  2. Prathen — In our forces rapid takeover of the Zharrian Expanse thus far, the Imperial Throne sees an opportunity to step up its role as a regional power in what it sees as an extension of its own backyard. But it also faces a host of risks, prompting the country to pursue a dual approach: diplomacy with the powers that be and or may be affected by such and displays of strength. The Imperial Throne appears to be willing to engage with certain entities in order to secure its interests. Since the deployed columns were deployed into the Expanse, diplomatic officers have cautiously reached out for talks to secure the domain eventually, and to allow certain nation's access. This comes on the heels of an embassy for the principality that has emerged within the central ward of Prathen, home to a few diplomatic houses of friendly and or trading nations, and offers a key access point to the Imperial Court. While exploring diplomatic ways to interact with what's left of the Zharrian/Cabarrian military forces if any, and the Anglian forces beyond current area of deployment, the officers of the Zero Circle are sure to project force by holding joint military exercises in North Korinon and the Adlantic Ocean, with the latter aimed at demonstrating the determination and ability With the NKPN (North Korinon Principality Navy) and HIN (Haruspex Imperial Navy) are currently deploying a large number of sailors and seaborne legionnaires to a joint training session, along with a large number of naval vessels, aircraft, and armored landing vehicles. As part of the exercise, NK and Haru soldiers are rehearsing firing at enemy targets, sending a fighter jet squadron on a joint bombing mission and launching a ground assault against hostile positions from the sea. A statement issued by the North Korinon Ministry of Defense emphasized that the exercise demonstrated the determination and ability of NK and the Imperium to fight terrorism, and jointly protect peace and stability in the Adlantic Ocean against any threats that may destablize trade. The Imperial Legionary Command also announced this week that House aligned Imperial troops will take part in a monthlong exercise with North Korinon. Under a collective security treaty with the colonial and principality domains, Prathen has an obligation to deploy forces in case one or both of those states is under attack or the threat of.

Home | Orioni | World | Business | Tech | Science | Culture | Health | Sports Orinese navy flexes missile capabilities in Southwest Europa ALHAFA, Ayubi -- The Imperial Orinese Navy (ION) has carried out a rare demonstration of its anti-surface capabilities west of the Saeida Strait, with the firings of several anti-ship missiles. The firings were carried out on 25 August as part of the unannounced Exercise Taming Trouble. Fifteen ships, 75 aircraft and two submarines took part in the exercise. The tests involved the first known launch of an anti-ship missile from the Meswati-class corvette HMS Bonesi since the ship completed its upgrade cycle. The upgrades include a new combat management system, 30 mm guns, and new optronics and torpedo launchers. HMS Bonesi, together with the Kebadi-class frigate HMS Ashenafi, each fired an anti-ship missile against a surface target. Meanwhile the Aniberi-class submarine HMS Ikan Lembing also launched an anti-ship missile while it was submerged. “The successful test firings of these missiles, which were all on target, is a clear demonstration of the navy's professionalism, capabilities, and readiness to deploy our assets and defend the neighbourhood,” said the ION in a press statement published on August 28th. Also involved in the seven-day exercise were vessels and aircraft from Ayubi and Damak Var with the goal "to achieve deeper military ties between the three nations", the service added. The maritime exercise comes seven weeks after the foreign ministers of both countries expressed interest in joining the EOS. “Our exercise indicates an effort to address common challenges and shared threat.“ The exercise is taking place amid the ongoing military conflicts in Azania. Roiters enquired whether this was related to recent actions by the OCA Pact and @Great Anglia, but a spokesperson declined to comment.

Mountainous or on a river (or both) would be good enough for me Stats Chosen: Population(1): 20,000,000 (extremely flexible here :)), GDP(1): 7,000. (I'm down to go lower to nerf, I just needed to use the point) Land Area (2): 300,000 Factbook/iiwiki link: It's a project to complete for the near future, but I went into pretty great detail my vision statement and hope thats enough for now! Culture: To paint in broad strokes, the culture pulls heavily from middle eastern countries Climate: Hot summers are really the only request I have here History: tldr of my vision statement: Khanikstan is only six years old, with the Khanikstan Communist Party taking power of former Azbekistan government after a brutal 40 year revolutionary war. The 46 years of isolationism and war has left a devastated and poverty stricken population that is now making foreign relations dire. Desired location: I would absolutely love if I could be inside this river pocket north of the lake labeled Chen. I've noticed that every country is built on a coast or against a country on a coast, so if that wouldn't be allowed since it's in the middle of nowhere, I understand. It would fit my lore in a lot of ways, and if my Capital was located on the west side right where the lake creates the north bound river I would have no complaints! If that location isn't possible, i'm very very flexible!

  5. Xōchiyo sat outside of her home, a basic bamboo chair positioned two large shrubs, the lower half of each bush trimmed down to allow the chair and whoever sat in it to not be poked and prodded by branches. In her hands was a glass, half empty with melting ice and a reddish liquid. Xōchiyo's shoulders remained raised, arms closed towards her chest. The sun was setting low, the crimson blood skies shimmering in the perpetual heat of Palu. In another hour or two the sun would be completely under the Eurth. Behind her, a man in a black suit slowly walked up to the bushes, his feet crunching against the gravel path. Xōchiyo's shoulders raised higher, tensing up. "Did they find it?" Her voice was shallow, hesitant to ask the question she didn't want to know the answer to. "Yes. Three locations across his territory." The man responded. The man's pale complexion was creased by his own frown, voice full of distaste. From his pocket he pulled out a pair of sunglasses. He'd walk further to her side, sliding the sunglasses onto his face and crossing his arms. "By the blood.." She muttered, her forehead falling onto her displaced fingers as a hollow sigh escaped her mouth. "Does anyone else know?" "Within the country? Only us and '19. Though, I assume you will be changing that." He continued, starting out towards the setting sun. "Yes.. The people deserve to know this." Xōchiyo responded, her posture unchanging. The man frowned behind his sunglasses. "You've sent thousands to the north,-" Before the man continued to question the Archpriest, her posture snapped up to sit up straight. "Those are criminals, charged, convicted, sentenced, criminals." She hissed back at the man, though did nothing towards him. He remained unflinching at her behaviour as she continued to spit her words at him. "Be lucky you're the only man I cannot have charged, convicted, sentenced, Leng." Leng silently chuckled. "The IWA will keep all information discovered in this operation as Restricted until you make the public announcement, with the specific locations as Secret. As you wished." "Thank you." Her shoulders relaxed, finally raising her cup to her lips to drink. Leng tilted his head towards the glass to finish the remaining red juice. "Iced Hibiscus?" He asked, Xōchiyo nodding and lowering the glass. "Gods, I miss our vacations to Azania." He responded, a grin coming through. "However if I 'died' from a heart attack on my last trip to Ulfheimr three years ago, I can't really go on a public vacation with you." She rolled her eyes at his comments, clearly still disturbed. "You just confirmed to me something I would only expect to occur in Ceris, and all you can think about is iced tea and Azanian beaches?" She responded, disdain on her tongue. "I've seen a lot of shit, shit that you've done and planning to do, that trump that.". Leng turned his back to the Archpriestess and began to walk back to the house.

  6. FRONT PAGE His Majesty King Sixto I Gives First Address to Parliament by Piero Fiŝkaptisto 22 August, 2021, 9:30 AM At 9:00 this morning, His Majesty King Sixto I made his first public appearance as Monarch of Unuecejeo, giving a speech to the Parliament of Speakers. The much-awaited address comes after the unfortunate passing of King Josef III yesterday afternoon. During his talk, His Majesty expressed a desire to follow in the footsteps of his father, and to continue his life's work. "The accomplishments of my father, and his father and grandfather before him, shaped the kingdom that we know today. And I believe that kingdom is one with a glorious future," King Sixto said during his speech. "It is my intention to aid in creating that future that my forebears dedicated themselves to utterly. Together with this these esteemed Speakers, we will ensure the prosperity of all Unuecejeans." According to a spokesperson for the royal family, King Sixto elected to refrain from public appearance until today, due to a need to allow himself to recover from the sudden news. When he appeared at this morning's Parliament meeting, he showed no signs of emotional turmoil. "It was a sincere pleasure to be introduced to His Majesty in this way, and his talk today, and I have no doubt as to his drive and conviction to serve the people of Unuecejo" said Breta Renlandano, a Speaker representing citizens of Okcimarsxo. While the unexpected passing of King Josef very much set the tone for today's meeting, the ascension of King Sixto has also been colored by another series of tragic deaths in the royal family. The youngest of King Josef's six children, few expected King Sixto to be the one to take the thrones. But the untimely deaths of his older siblings, including his sister Oana just two months ago, left King Sixto poised as the rightful heir. The royal family has repeatedly assured the people of Unuecejo that King Sixto's study and training in order to act as monarch began long before his sister's death, and that he is more than ready to lead the country. Members of His Majesty's advisory council were in attendance for the address, but could not be reached for comment by the time of publication. According to several Speakers, the advisors wish to refrain from making public statements on the ascension until after King Sixto has been able to properly set the tone for the royal government going forward. His Majesty's spokesperson has stated that he will begin making public appearances immediately, with a scheduled public address in Bellator City tomorrow at 9:00 AM. The Parliament will convene for their regularly scheduled meeting at 1:00 today. This article was updated Today, at 11:22 AM The king is not prepared to lead us. He is nothing more than an indolent slob, handed down to us by a cruel act of fate. We cannot rely upon the archaic trappings of the monarchy anymore. The power must lie truly with the people. This article was updated Today, at 11:54 AM We have been made aware of an alteration to this article that went up earlier today that we did not authorize. We apologize profusely for allowing this to happen. This erroneous update has been removed, and we are conducting an internal investigation to determine the cause. -------------------------- ENTERTAINMENT Children's Hour Aims to Enrich Lives of Families by Lorena Fortika 20 August 2021, 6:20 PM After months of preparatory work and discussion, Centro Entertainment is announcing the release of The Neighborly Kids, the first in a series of Unuecejo-made programs designed for young children and their families to be released over the next several months. "This is an exciting opportunity, and we can't wait to see what parents across Unuecejo think of the show," said series writer Indra Hiacinto. Dubbed Children's Hour, this initiative developed in close partnership with the Parliament of Speakers. According to Hiacinto, the concept goes back to 2019, when recent successes resulted in additional funding from Parliament. Centro consulted with several Speakers who approved of the station's work to determine where they should focus their efforts. The results, in the end, were a series of children's shows meant both to prepare children for schooling and instill in them wholesome values. The series will follow siblings Mili and Marto Najbareco as they face everyday childhood problems. However, each of these problems and their solution will also impress upon the viewer an important moral lesson. "The key is to present it in a metaphorical way, to not tell the kids that you're trying to teach them something," said Hiacinto. "For example, in our first episode, Mili and Marto are asked to help with cleaning the house and aren't happy about it. But their mother talks to them about how it's important to take pride in their house and keeping it clean is a part of that. And the kids can extrapolate that to taking pride in the kingdom." Centro Entertainment has an additional three shows in the planning phases. While they are not ready to release details yet, they have noted that the production of these shows is dependent upon the initial success of The Neighborly Kids.

  7. Vaska Township 12th Guard, 3rd Column As the lead vehicle chugged into Vaska near the reconnaissance groups radio truck, the third vehicle in the line, was the armored command vehicle of Prata Khan Viss. Clambering out of the Rihdan LMV, he took stock of the crumbling township and shouldered a weary sigh before waving his second in command, Siet Khan Varis towards him. The younger man festooned with combat gear, and with barrel of the service rifle pointed towards the ground while in chest sling, bounded over with an enthusiasm that was hard to match. As the Siet Khan neared, Viss spoke while looking at a terrain map on the land nav pad and once Varis was within earshot. Varis. Sir? Get the engineering and demo crews unpacked, have them get rid of any building that cant structuraly be a support element. Also have the clergy units deployed, these markers here. and here, and here are apparently mass grave areas. Gestured with his right index finger at map markers as denoted by the recon taskforce that had proceeded them. Yes of course. I'll see to it right away. Oh and get Ji Yalenko and Ji Karis over here. Yes Sir. Few minutes later, both Yalenko and Karis appeared. Yes Sir? They both chorused, nearly jinxing one another. He grumped and then looked to both of them, gods they were so young. And he wasn't that old himself! He'd just turned thirty-three! Alright you two, get your platoons to the center of the township. Survivors need medical, food, and housing. This'll be your platoon's job. Swivel of his head to the right spying Liet Yagaro. Yagaro! The woman jerked to a stop and looked over. Sir? Get to the center of the township with your unit and bring pre-fabs for survivors, and start surveying buildings for keep or removal. A salute and the woman jogged off. Well, what're you two waiting for? Dismissed! The two Ji's acted if shocked by a bolt of lightening, vanishing in an instant. Before to long, the rumble of trucks, mostly S-12 halftracks and H14 cargo trucks began to amble about, heading in various directions. The infantry legionnaires who had dismounted were next. As Viss strolled towards the gathering point, he encountered Varis and a few Kenyets. Varis turned and spoke. Sir, this is Kenyet's Alka and Toral. Alpine Legionary of the 8th Legion are here, voluntold to join us Sir. What shall they be doing? Viss already had the men and women he needed in the township doing the things they were trained for, but extra security would be nice. Especially with the other columns either bypassing Vaska or advancing to townships and villages near it. Kenyet Alka, you will deploy however many you see fit of your legion to the northern road and exterior of the township. Since our Eastern and Southern approaches are being covered from the other columns, the North will need securing. Understood Sir, duty earns victory, victory is life! The statement caught Viss off guard, he wasn't sure which house of the Tagnik Zun this legion was from though, it could only be a few however, the Zun didnt have as many as others. So he casually asked which. Of what house are you Alka? Varin Zun Sir. Ah. Understood, carry on. Varin Zun eh? Wonders never cease he supposed and carried one with the other Kenyet. Kenyet Toral. I've a mission for your half of the legion. You will accompany the taskforce that came here initially, they will be heading to the Zharrian military armory to the West of here. The survivors indicated gangs, para-military and or what was left of the military was focused there for a time. May still be. Reason with them if you can, but if not, you have clearance to engage as you see fit. Yes sir, I will approach the taskforce leader and confer orders before march. Center of the township is their location yes? Yes it is. Very good Sir. It will be done. He watched as they strode off to their duty, the way they signaled troops and the dispersal began. Varis spoke after a time. Varin Zun? Viss sighed a bit, slightly raising right arm over head in a bit of a stretch. I've heard they are a kin house to the main line, I believe the Lord is fourth cousin to Aria, head of the main house, they dont get out much, usually border guard duty with the @Tagmatium RulesTagmatine. Varis continued. Ah. I'd heard that the splinters were getting marching orders to prove their worth to the bloodlines that are. Viss spoke. Oh? Well makes sense, cant stay at home forever and claim the banner. Eventually you'll be sent to prove your worth. An almost mirthful, perhaps predatory smirk showed on Varis's face as he spoke to his superior. Keric is going to be just thrilled Sir. He laughed then, especially at Varis's comment. I'm sure she will. Oil and water those houses. Still they know what's at stake, petty rivalries can wait until we're back home.

  9. The People's Republic of Khanikstan is a one party Communistic state run by the Khanikstan Communist Party (KCP) that took ruling power over the fallen government of Azbekistan six short years ago. Led by His Dear Respected Supreme Leader Hamad Khan, the only son of Kerim Kahn, the original voice of the Khanikstan Revolutionaries. For centuries Azbekistan was ruled by a theocratic state with very little tolerance for opposing religious views, with Atheism being punishable by execution under the Divine Law. Harshly enforced religious ideals were so strong, that technological advancement was closely monitored by the Clergy to ensure nothing surpassed God's intended will for the human experience. Women's rights were non-existent with most being married away in their youth. Livestock was outlawed for consumption, including wool and milk (this struck controversy when the Azbekistan government imported livestock to feed their armies while still punishing the average citizen with death if they were to do the same). Public education was Creationist focused and heavily anti-science, with propaganda describing the international community as a wasteland of sinners. The Azbekistan people were brainwashed through religious indoctrination and viscous propaganda along with a strict Totalitarianism regime. In the mid 1960s, a nationwide famine after a historic drought began to expose holes in the Azbekistan's grip of power. Kerim Khan was a foreign novelist who was accepted access into the country under a special visa to help write the biography of His Prophet Isiktan Aydogan's (The functional Head of State between 1967 to 1987). A charming speaker and excellent writer, Kerim Kahn quickly rose to power within Isiktan Aydogan's social circle and after 2 short years of working closely together, he was named as his Lead Advisor. Kerim Kahn had convinced than Head of State Isiktan Aydogan that the lack of scientific progression in the country will be the downfall of the mighty Azbekistan empire as their vast amount of undeveloped land could be quick targets for foreign interests who don't see Azbekistan as capable of defending itself. Aydogan agreed with Khan, and publicly addressed the nation and proclaimed Kerim Kahn as "God's Mighty Whip", an unofficial title given from a prophet to a man trusted by God himself to lead armies in God's name. This was the second piece of the puzzle that began Kerim Kahn's rise. A key mistake Isiktan Aydogan made in the years leading up to the revolution was not familiarizing himself with Kerim Khan's background. Due to the harsh blackout of any foreign media entering their borders, Aydogan only knew Kahn from his fictional work "His Holy Fist", a book about a young Imam who goes on a quest with the son of God. Kerim Khan was a well spoken and highly acclaimed communistic scholar and novelist who had many published books supporting a communist revolution as the sole path forward. Once he was given access to the Azbekistan Armed Forces, Kerim Kahn made the decision to redirect 8,000 men (approximately one-third of the nations military) to the western mountain town of Manahal under the orders to protect the critical infrastructure in the city in case of a foreign invasion. With Manahal hosting 20% of the Azbekistan population but 60% of the countries manufacturing of strategic resources, it was the perfect place for Kahn to begin planting the seed of his revolution. over the next couple of years, communistic literature was exchanged openly among the Manahal garrison. Certain religious laws were quietly ignored amongst the soldiers, and eventually the city of Manahal under the careful calculation of Kerim Khan. The first was the introduction of dairy products, like milk and cheese, followed by access to more modern medical care banned by the state. While not holding any position of power of over the people of Manahal, he was still revered as a leader. Isiktan Aydogan's blessing from God was enough to build the kindling in the fire of revolution. When the drought of 1972 started and the resulting famine of 1976, the people of Manahal thrived under the leadership of Kerim Kahn who predicted the drought would leave the farmland untenable. He was able to grow the originally small herd of livestock into a respectable breeding ground. Once the food shortages started, he began discreetly allowing beef into the diet of the garrisoned troops. By time the famine was at its peak, the Manahal food reserves we're still holding up thanks to the strategic rationing and access to meat - an option no other city in the country had access to. Kerim Khan purposefully kept Isiktan Aydogan in the dark with the happenings in Manahal, and as far as he was aware they were suffering just as bad as the rest of Azbekistan. With a population on the brink of starvation, he mobilized the well-fed army to the neighboring villages with bundles of meat and low quality bread. It wasn't long until the power of the church started to unravel, while Aydogan struggled to solve the food crises. By 1972, Kerim Khan and the 8,000 men had secured around a third of all of Azbekistan's land and the entire western region. The communist revolution was quiet, but the citizens had an easy choice to make since Kerim Khan could promise food, and the consumption of that very food would lead to death under Azbekistan rule. On December 28th, 1972, Kerim Khan officially kicked off the revolutionary war when he ordered 2,000 men to enforce a blockade at the central city of Horuam, a strategic move that would cripple the supply lines of the eastern cities. With the move being the first the Azbekistan government had ever heard of a revolution thanks to Khan's careful planning and Aydogan's misplaced trust, the revolutionaries had plenty of time to secure a stronghold at Horuam and the nearby infrastructure. The first bullet wasn't fired until months later at the First Invasion of Varrock. The war continued at a stand still with either side unable to gain any permeant ground for nearly 30 years until a targeted air strike at a remote military safehouse killed Kerim Khan in 2012 at the age of 71 after 3 failed assassination attempts in 3 weeks. While the Azbekistan government began pushing propaganda celebrating the achievement of killing the communist leader, his son Hamad Khan seamlessly took his place at the chariot of his fathers war machine. A lot more hard headed and extreme with his ideas, he quickly wrapped up the war by using unethical practices like the bombing of war hospitals to accelerate the Azbekistani's surrender. Most importantly, his swift victory of the seemingly impenetrable Varrock in the Third Invasion of Varrock in 2014 was a strong declaration to the Azbekistani's and Revolutionaires alike that just like his father, Hamad Khan was God's Mighty Whip. On August 15th, 2015, Hamad Khan accepted the unconditional surrender of Azbekistan and named himself Supreme Leader of the Peoples Republic of Khanikstan. Six years later and the country is facing another food crises. With an abundance of undeveloped land and infrastructure devastated by decades of war and the gradual rise of Azbekistan Loyalists, Hamad Khan and the Khanikstan Communist Party have these challenges to make: Create a road network connecting all major cities and began planning on urban expansion Continue the fight against the possible Azbekistan Loyalist Rebellion Invest in public infrastructure to ensure all citizens have access to plumbing and clean water Open borders for wurld trade Solve food crises Hamad Khan and his father supported women's rights, but getting the culture to support them is a different story. Integrate women into the workforce. Integrate foreign private businesses to help grow the economy. Create and maintain a proper defense force and restructure the highly militarized state more efficiently Invest heavily in public education and the importing of academics to help solve the countries brain drain Gain respect on the wurld stage as a developed nation through sports

Confirmation of Alvernian cooperation with Anglia has prompted numerous Salvian officials to express concern and condemnation this past week. A report published Sunday by the Salvian security community, spearheaded by the Salvian Intelligence Agency (SIA), found that Alvernia conducted arms trading, shared intelligence, and even sent volunteers in both combat and non-combat roles to Anglia and members of the Occidental-Azanian Pact. Alvernia had previously refused Salvian calls to halt trade with the nations, stating that events in Europa and Alharu did not concern them. “Three centuries ago, the Alvernian people revolted against tyrannical Salvian rule and gained its independence,” Alvernian leader Marco Marzeni was quoted as saying. “We did not do this just to have our autonomy questioned once more.” President Saulius, who met with Marzeni back in June 2020 to discuss the possibility of unification, criticized Alvernian actions in a press conference shortly after the report's publication. “Despite calls from her sister nation to halt trade and cooperation with Anglia and the OCA, Alvernia has continued to interact with aggressive nations that threaten glubal security. This is unacceptable, and can not stand.” Saulius added that punitive measures are being considered against Alvernia, indicating a sharp turn in relations between the two states. Salvia is Alvernia’s largest trading partner, and calls for unification of the two states have been echoed since early 2020; last August, the Salvian legislature called for a constitutional convention to allow for foreign states to join Salvia. Provincial representatives met for the first time in mid-July, with talks ongoing. Foreign Minister Alvon Russo expressed concern, saying that if Alvernia did not “correct its course,” relations with Salvia would suffer. Trade and Finance Minister Leo Conway also went on record to warn Alvernia, “Punitive economic measures will be considered if Alvernia continues to trade with Anglia and member states of the OCA.” Alvernia’s Foreign Ministry has dismissed these statements, stating that the statements from Salvian officials were “offensive” in how they “questioned Alvernian autonomy.” Shortly after this, the SIA confirmed that another Anglian cargo ship had entered the Alvernian port and capital of Soncinia. The Salvian Minister of Defense has recalled naval ships from the Oriental Ocean that were participating in TRIDENT operations in order to “secure Salvian waters.” Alvernian officials called the move “unnecessary and threatening posturing” by the Salvian military.

Home | Orioni | World | Business | Tech | Science | Culture | Health | Sports Classic football derby ends with Tamurine defeat against Orioni ALAGHON, Tamurin -- Neighbours @Tamurin and Orioni played out a 1-3 game in Alaghon which is a positive sign for the Orinese sign as it prepares for a series of international friendlies. On July 15 at the Elecoms Stadium in Alaghon with 64790 in attendance. Once the 26th edition of this derby fixture was underway, it was Orioni whose players encountered an early setback with Davud Moreno (O-5) sent off early with a red card after injuring Tamurine captain Marius Steimle (T-2). This forced Tamurin coach Daniel Siwiri into an early reshuffle when Steimle hobbled away from the action. Despite now being one player short, ongoing fitness woes for the Tamurine side didn't tilt the game in their favour. Orioni's forward line struggled to create clear-cut chances until Caoimhe Laing (O-11) scored a header after a corner kick from Gusti Luca (O-6). Ten minutes later captain Romeo Acosta (O-10) outfoxed goalie Michael Ulaska (T-1) with his superb lob. Orioni's defence struggled with quick Tamurine counters and Bagus Palmeiro (O-3) pulled down Tim Kielholz (T-9) in the penalty area, leaving the referee no choice but to point to the spot. Kilian Brahms (T-8) emphatically dispatched a 23rd-minute penalty on home turf. The visitors were close to having a penalty kick of their own as the end of the first half approached, with Peter Hermann (T-4) scything down Ratnam Jain (O-7) on the left-hand edge of the area. In the 43rd-minute Hugo Weisz (T-7) almost gave the home crowd something to cheer about when his 30-yard screamer looked destined for the top-left corner, but Tristão Paredes (O-1) was rescued by the crossbar. The second half only proved to be even more one-sided, with Orioni seeing a flurry of chances kept out by Tamurine goalkeeper Mihkel Ulaska. The Orcas' patience paid off in the 59th minute, as Laing (O-11) tapped in his second goal from close range, beating the impressive Ulaska for a third time. The last part of the game saw a parade of walking wounded as (T-5) suffered a hamstring strain and Palmeiro (O-3) was carried off the pitch after a neck crunching collision with Ulaska (T-1). The Orinese have gone from strength to strength since the trauma of their first-round defeat in 2018. After the game, Orioni coach $PersonName said he felt his squad will strive to continue their run. "We are just happy and proud of what football means to the world." The next match will be another international friendly game against @Prymont in the New National Stadium in O'polis. 13. Home | Orioni | World | Business | Tech | Science | Culture | Health | Sports Anglian warship catches fire, sinks in Adlantic KEROON HOLD, Dragonryders -- A warship in the Anglian navy caught fire and later sank last week in the Adlantic Ocean under unclear circumstances, the latest calamity to strike the country’s military in recent weeks amid tensions with the EOS. As of yet unconfirmed images show fire on deck during the twilight hours, the Europan News Network (ENN) reported, but firefighting efforts failed to save the ANS Javelin. Anglian media reported no casualties, but it is believed that 400 sailors and trainee cadets were on board, some of who may have fled the vessel. Photos circulating on Wittier showed sailors wearing life jackets evacuating the vessel as a fire was burning behind them. ENN published a picture of thick, black smoke rising from the ship late Wednesday evening. Satellites from the EOSAT that track fires from space detected a blaze near Keroon Hold that started just before the time of the fire reported by ENN. Satellite images published by EOSAT showed the Javelin off Keroon Hold with no sign of fire as late as 18:00h on Wednesday. The ship sank off the Ryderian coast near Keroon Hold, some 150 nautical miles west of Dragonryders in the Adlantic Ocean, well outside territorial waters but within the EEZ. Anglian officials were quick to offer their account of the catastrophe, accusing the Ryderian government of launching an anti-ship missile while the Javelin was conducting training exercises. The Ryderians strongly refute this allegation. An official investigation has yet to begin. Like much of Anglia's major military hardware, the Javelin dated back to the 1980s. That ageing military equipment has seen fatal accidents occur before. The Javelin was seaworthy enough to operate in both green and blue water. The attacks came amid heightened tensions between the EOS and Anglia after the latter's ongoing aggressive actions in the Occident. The Orinese chairlady’s office did not respond to a request for comment regarding the Javelin. EOS permanent representative Mr Tobiya Wayanor said the EOS was aware of the loss of the ship but declined to comment further. Coup in Alshamal ousts Grand Vizier SABAH, Alshamal -- During an almost undetected coup in Alshamal, the Grand Vizier Mamadou bin Sambo of Alshamal was quietly arrested and exiled from his country. When this news was broadcast, large protest demonstrations were held throughout the country. On 15 May, he denounced the Occidental-Azanian Pact for its implied support of the Anglian aggression. Later that same day he was detained by military officers, taken to the international airport in Sabah and sent to Orioni. As the Grand Vizier boarded the plane to take him out of Alshamal, many of the Royal Guardsmen wept. From his residence in exile, he called upon the opposition to help preserve the constitution, proposing a "national unity" government. The Anglian-backed figurehead King rejected these demands and appointed his own interim government instead. The newly-established Occidental-Azanian Pact was enshrined in treaty during a public conference by representatives from Anglia, Suverina, Jilderen, Bulungi, Afropa, Sa Hara, Mahdah, Hakenium, and Alshamal. The pact implies bringing together many Europan states in one common cause for "strength and unity". However, rumours of how the negotiations went down reveal a much different story. Anglian officials applied intense pressure on these states, many of whom trade extensively with the hostile nation.
